The genius of Tony Mowbray.

Luton beating Barnsley, sending the Tykes to the bottom The same Barnsley that beat us easily recently. Hurrah for Tony!

Right, for once. And Mowbray's time has been and gone. It's Dalglish BTW -

I'd be in Paradise if we appointed Warnock. And so would most Rovers fans -

Well done, and good luck with the pup. Doggies are great fun and will give you years of affection and great memories. Money much better spent than the ephemeral pleasures of a here-today gone-tomorrow holiday.

My first reaction on hearing of Tony Mowbray's appointment was, what has he done to deserve managing our club? He'd been sacked from his last job by then very lowly Coventry after losing about 10 games in a row and seemed a busted flush. Nothing really has changed since then to alter that view. There is a case for giving him one more try next season but I really don't think we'll get anywhere with him. As for a replacement, if Neil fails to keep Boro up in the next few weeks I'd give him a call. -

Going on for 10 years since relegation from the Premier League, and we've never looked like going back. We've never even been in the top 6. I'm getting older, I don't have many years left and I desperately want to see us back in the top flight before I end up gaga in the care home. Sadly, I can't see that happening under Mowbray. Roll the dice again and see if we get lucky. -
It's a good job fans aren't allowed in grounds. On recent form we'd be down to about 5,000 now. Mowbray's time is up for me. The club's dead in the water. Why they never appointed Warnock when they twice had the opportunity beggars belief
-
Why would he? He's under no pressure from anyone at the club

It finished months ago

or is it Tony's white flag?

Mighty Barnsley who made us look so poor losing 2-0 at Stoke

Lots of passengers in that team - Rothwell, Walton, Bennett etc - and only one driver (lenihan) Donkeys led by one lion

Championship season 2019-20

Feel sorry for Wigan and their fans. After Bury that's another Lancashire club that could be heading for extinction. But for the grace of God (or Venky's) we could be dire straits too. What are the EFL doing to help Wigan? A 12-point deduction is a harsh punishment for a broken football model that fails to protect clubs from avaricious and unsuitable owners. -
I'm convinced it's deliberate because it happens too often for it to be a co-incidence. Tony is in fact alot smarter than we give him credit for. He and his mates in the boardroom don't want the pressure of the Premier League because it would jeopardise their jobs so they keep Rovers there or thereabouts in the promotion race in order to keep the fans reasonably happy but back off when we get too near the top 6. When the heat is on again after a poor run and fans get restless Tony pulls off some big wins and Rovers go on a little run within sight of the top 6 again. Rinse and repeat through the season for 3 years or more and hey presto!, Tony's got £5 million in the bank!

Not a bad shout...they're only 6 ;points behind now. Rovers really are a soft touch losing to 2 relegation threatened sides, Wigan and Barnsley showed what can be achieved with a bit of fighting spirit. Our bunch of nice boys couldn't fight their way out a of a paper bag.
-
And to think, we turned Neil Warnock down a few years ago, and failed to grab him again after he left Cardiff. Put your money on Boro to go up next season
-
I forgot this was an early kick off and just logged on for an update. Why did I bother? The past 2 games have been so,so, so predictable. I'm sure Tony's being paid by someone to do this.... in addition to his Rovers salary.

Why are you worried at all? We're not going to be in the playoffs, it just won't happen -

Forest cementing their place in playoffs at present, 2-0 up. Looks increasingly like just the battle for 6th place to be decided, with Cardiff the form team and in the driving seat. Rovers also-rans and always have been -
Before today we were in a good position to make one final effort and had nothing to lose by just going for it. It's obvious Mowbray doesn't want top 6.

It looked a poor lineup and that's how it turned out. Bennett at left back is ludicrous and why does Mowbray play no-hopers such as Rothwell? He'd be first out of the door for me
