Brentford a good example of a "slow build". The club has been on the up for a few years thanks to good management. I wouldn't put us in their class though - they have very good people at the top with a clear sense of direction.

My brother was at Rovers for a couple of years until he was 9, even then it was being coached to all the outfield players the best technique for diving. Some very bitter PNE fans on there
-
Are you saying he wouldn't have made signings if money had been forthcoming from the owners? Our failure to strengthen was down to lack of funding, not player availablity
-
Tony's natural caution will show through at Brentford. He'll be worrying about how good they are and set up his team accordingly. As a result, the mindset of the player is likely to be wrong too - the complete opposite of the positive attitude they showed at Charlton.

I'd go on an earlier train if possible. You;re relying on everything going to schedule and even then it's tight making the kickoff -
I don't think suicide is selfish, although it has a huge impact on their loved ones. People who kill themselves are in intense and overwhelming pain, and often have distorted thinking and perception. Although it's hard to understand, they may feel like people are better off without them. I have to say I had never heard of Caroline Flack before Saturday.

Would you sign Christian Walton

On yesterday's performance yes, overall doubtful. Jury is still out and he has to cut out the silly errors. Review at the end of the season. -
Now then, that was one of my few live sightings of Chapman yesterday .... and I can't say I was impressed, one of the few downsides on an otherwise excellent day. Watching him going through his paces with the other substitutes at half time, he definitely had an "attitude", a cocky player who obviously rates himself and sees himself as special. Now that's fine when you can back it up with performances on the pitch, but Chapman did nothing in his cameo appearance to justify it. His one attempt at taking on the full back was a clumsy shove of the ball past the defender and foot race that he easily lost. What have I missed ?
-
Yep, made space for himself cutting in from the right then sliced the ball horribly when it needed a left-footed curl to get it round the keeper. From the little I've seen of him he favours the right side of attack and likes to run with the ball. He's probably better than Gallagher in that role but he can't play with his back to goal down the middle and I cannot for the life of me see why we paid so much money for him.
-
Did you see his heavy touch on the ball when he got to the bye-line and ran it out of play yesterday? That wasn't the touch of a £7 a week Sunday player, never mind a £7m footballer
-
Of course...............over the size of Dack's waistline.
-
It was interesting listening to a group of Charlton fans on the train after the game. They were very disappointed after their Forest result but were very impressed with Rovers, thought we "did a job" on them, liked Armstrong and our "rock solid" defence and thought we would make the playoffs.
-
He means Tony thinks he is Pep Guardiola and is trying to get us playing a possession game. Have to say we had most of the possession yesterday and apart from the first 15 minutes made Charlton look very poor.
-
Anyone besides me notice Danny Graham at half time laughing and making "round tummy" gestures towards Dack sitting in the stands? I fear Dack may have put on some timber during his layoff, meaning he'll be even less fit than usual when he comes back.
-
I still don't think we'll do it. Despite yesterday's excellent showing we don't do it often enough. We're just as likely to go on a 3 points out of 15 run similar to Christmas as kick on from this point. The injuries have helped the team though. Tony seems less confused as to which players to pick.

Beware the ides of Wigan
-
....and there he was not 10 yards away. Selfies anyone?
-
Hard to fault anyone today We started slowly but generally controlled the match throughout. Walton has his best game for us. great day out in foul weather well played rovers
-
Where we are this morning is just a snapshot of our league position. It goes up and down. If he gets us into the playoffs I'll admit we are making progress
-
It's where we end up in May - that will be the time to judge.
-
No, because I don;t see any "progress" this season and it won't be any different next season, or the season after. I'm comforted by the fact Tony's pension fund is running into the millions now - he'll walk away soon enough.
-
On the other hand, the injury "crisis" is reducing Mowbray's options and forcing him to play a more settled side (will stand corrected on that). Necessity is the mother of invention etc etc.

Yes, as a No 2. If we have any pretensions to winning promotion, we'd need a better goalkeeper. -
Charlton fighting for their lives in a relegation battle and will be buoyed by their great win away to Forest last night. Tony will have taken a look at our rising position in the league table this morning and will tell the players to put the brakes on. Charlton 2-1.
