I don't see how Preston's history is relevant to Rovers in the Venky's era. We're different to PNE. We were an established PL club with a top management and infrastructure on a different level to theirs. Then we threw it away. The point is, the longer we remain out of the PL the harder it will be to get back. Since we were relegated in 2012 we haven't been in the playoffs once. I don't see any sign of progress whatsoever - on any level since we went down. There is a magic wand - it is identifying a very good manager and keeping him. Burnley have done it, and many others. I grates to see the likes of Bournemouth, Brighton and Watford - third division and fourth clubs to my mind - in the PL when we are languishing. I'd like your thoughts on why you think "we are making progress" - because I don't see any

Really Parson? Now 8 or 9 years since we were relegated and I've not seen a step in the right direction since then, Let's call a mid-table finish what it is - treading water and leaving us farther from the Premier League than ever.

We’re a mid table going nowhere except being stuck in the middle. The season is effectively over for

Wigan signed 3 players in the final half hour. Forest showed the way for a high-flying club by being active; in fact most championship clubs have been busy. Surely, Mowbray and Co could have juggled the squad without spending a penny - sent a few out on loan who aren't getting a game and bringing in reinforcements on loan where they're badly needed? Perhaps they couldn't be arsed because they know we won't go down and are nowhere near good enough to go up so it's easier and more convenient to stick with what we've got. Either way, everyone seems to be on cushy, easy street at Ewood. Coupled with the the Brexit suicide mission, it's been a miserable end to the day. I only hope we get a good result at Boro tomorrow. -

Is Chaddy crying in his soup right now? Or has he got his just desserts for being so bullish? Food for thought. -

Chaddy in Twitter meltdown. The waiter probably paid him to leave the restaurant. -

Tough day for Chaddy. Rovers fail to make his 7-9 signings target and his Brexit day celebrations ruined when the cook serves up German sausages. -

Chaddy said 7 to 9 players would be in. Does that mean he's exaggerating a little? -

Luke Matheson, 17 years old, from Rochdale to Wolves for £1m Is that a good young lad on our doorstep we've missed? -

No reason why shouldn't have "kicked on" last season either when we were going well. Didn't happen then and won't happen now - especially with key players injured and no replacements. -

And it's false optimism because we won't make it!! -

Forest sold Brereton for £7m. They saw that club coming -

I honestly don't think a leak on a minor messageboard would have scuppered that deal. Weren't Rovers haggling over the fee and Villa just decided to pay it? Keep up the good work by the way. -

Neither was Brereton, but that's another story. With his scoring record, he must be worth at least as much as Gallagher though. I agree Armstrong has technical faults and is not top quality but he knows how to score and if he keeps on improving, Rovers will have a good asset on their hands. He was a good buy at £1.75m -

Armstrong has scored about 50 goals in 150 career appearances, and he's still only 22. Rovers should get a very good price for him if we had to sell, alot more than £1.75m we paid for him -

So to recap - days before the window closes and have we actually signed anyone ? -
Repeat of the Loftus Road game, when they carved our so-called defence to pieces. It's too easy, and why we won't get near the play-offs. Wouldn't be surprised to see 1-1 final

The Climate Change Performance Index ranked Australia last out of 57 countries responsible for more than 90% of greenhouse gas emissions on climate policy. It highlighted the country's no-show at a UN climate summit in September and its withdrawal from an international fund to tackle climate change. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-50869565 Australia will have to decide whether to take a huge hit to the economy by weaning itself off natural resource exports or risk becoming an international climate pariah like Trump's US. The so-called lucky country is running out of luck.

Brilliant bowling and catching by England so far. So pleased for Mark Wood after all his injury problems

Great old ground but looks sad barely half full. Sheffield's a great football city and both clubs should be in the Premier....Wednesday have been badly managed for decades. Agree about the Leppings Lane stand though. Football with all its riches should have paid for it to be knocked down and renamed
