  1. And to think, we turned Neil Warnock down a few years ago, and failed to grab him again after he left Cardiff. Put your money on Boro to go up next season
  2. I forgot this was an early kick off and just logged on for an update. Why did I bother? The past 2 games have been so,so, so predictable. I'm sure Tony's being paid by someone to do this.... in addition to his Rovers salary.
  3. Why are you worried at all? We're not going to be in the playoffs, it just won't happen
  4. Forest cementing their place in playoffs at present, 2-0 up. Looks increasingly like just the battle for 6th place to be decided, with Cardiff the form team and in the driving seat. Rovers also-rans and always have been
  5. Before today we were in a good position to make one final effort and had nothing to lose by just going for it. It's obvious Mowbray doesn't want top 6.
  6. It looked a poor lineup and that's how it turned out. Bennett at left back is ludicrous and why does Mowbray play no-hopers such as Rothwell? He'd be first out of the door for me
  7. Every time there's a prospect of getting into the top 6.......Tony knocks us right back down again. Anyone woulds think it was deliberate
  8. Playoffs a fantasy, always has been
  9. Tony Nosebleed gets frit at the prospect of 6th place..............yet again. So predictable from a soft team
  10. Yes, absolutely. Tony Nosebleed gets dizzy and goes back down the ladder when he gets to certain heights. Plus, Paul Cook has the hex sign over Rovers and always has them pumped up. Wigan 2-0
  11. Lucky Boro ..... that's them safe and probably promoted next season. Still livid we didn't get Warnock a few years ago. Complete no-brainer
  12. Leeds are already up, so it's no big deal for them or Rovers if they lose, but Cardiff are one of our promotion rivals. A win for them is a bad result for us.
  13. Leeds letting us down here - we don't need Cardiff to win. I hope Leeds are this poor when they come to Ewood.
  14. Preston still winning unfortunately. Come on Luton (never said that before)
  15. Can't be bothered with this newfangled ifollow thingy. How many Rovers players have lockdown beards?
  16. Away team winning every match in the Championship except ours
  17. You don't win owt or get promoted with a dodgy keeper. And we've had dodgy keepers for years
  18. Brereton instead of Armstrong...... non-goalscorer in front of goalscorer? Tony's gone lockdown stir-crazy
  19. We all know what's going to happen. Tony will have been asleep for the past 10 weeks and the players won't be fit or in the right frame of mind. Bristol will go 2-0 up in the first 20 minutes and the game will be over.
  20. It will be interesting to see how Rovers play and how well (or not) they have been looking after themselves during the pandemic. Has Mowbray been pro-active in keeping his players focused and ready for when play resumes? Has the club been making sure players are keeping fit and sticking to strict regimes during the lockdwon? Rovers have never looked the fittest squad under Mowbray so the layoff is unlikely to have done much good for the players. My bet is we'll look vastly under-prepared, not right mentally, and go 2-0 down in the first 20 minutes.
  21. "The bowler's Holding the batsman's Willey" was a gem from TMS - John Arlott ?? So pleased cricket is returning to the free-to-air Beeb. Hope it becomes permanent. I don't pay to watch any sport on TV and never will.
  22. We managed to get tickets for the Nuttall Street stand, towards the Darwen End. Can still see Fryatt in my mind's eye rising to head the ball home. Ewood absolutely erupted. Rovers had City rocking for about 10-15 minutes after that but once City went ahead again it was game over. The 4th goal was a belter by Coleman IIRC. Abiding memory was watching the Riverside Stand crowd opposite us sway back and forth. Ewood was dangerously over-full; how those barriers stood the strain I don't know. I was right about Ed Fryatt. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Fryatt
  23. Saw Jim make his debut and it was an extraordinary sight seeing him run on the pitch. Balding, with a "rotund" figure, he looked more like an old farmer than a footballer and I couldn't believe we had signed him. Of course, like many II grew to like him alot and as has been mentioned he was one of the best headers of a ball I have seen. I beleive his son Ed became a pro on the US golf circuit, but I'm not sure. RIP Jim.
