  1. Swansea will have watched our toothless performance in midweek and taken note. They're a decent side and we have no Lenighan. Swansea 2-1.
  2. Walter Joyce. Never an international. Sorry
  3. The team was set up for the away counter attacking game for which it is suited at Charlton and Brentford. I don't blame him for changing it against a team that was likely to park the bus and come for the draw but it's down to him how it played .... the slow, passing, backwards and sideways style was never likely to work. Even without the "creative players", Rovers should surely be able to beat these teams by raising the tempo and forcing errors but Mowbray's teams rarely do. Please don't keep forecasting "easy wins". It's tiresome and Rovers just don't do it that way.
  4. Agreed. So why did you do your usual trolling post before kickoff saying we'd win easily?
  5. The Premier League winning team of 1995 was full of "feisty" characters, according to Ray Harford. Lenighan looks like a lad who would enjoy an argument but most of the rest wouldn't say boo to a goose.
  6. Rothwell in this category too - looks brilliant when he's in the mood but he gives you about one good game in 10. Holtby is another. Dack will give you about one in 3. Payne looked weak and ineffectual with us - seemed lacking in confidence.
  7. Does anyone have a link to league tables based on home and away form ?
  8. Hmmm. I'll take the points first and entertainment second. That's why I always liked Sam Allardyce ! Agree about Mowbray though
  9. Remember Jack Payne a couple of seasons back ? He had that ability. I went to the Oxford away match in the promotion season and he was the best player on the pitch by a mile, and presumably why we took note and signed him. I was surprised he didn't make it with us but the fact he's now languishing in the lower leagues with Lincoln City shows what I know.
  10. Good post. Seen it so many times at home under Mowbray. It will be the same against Swansea. Unless we score in the first 10 minutes another 0-0 is on the cards.
  11. We've taken three points from home games against Stoke, Huddersfield, Wigan, Charlton and Luton. That's 12 dropped at home against struggling teams. You can't do that and expect to go up
  12. Tony's contract stretches into infinity Another missed opportunity tonight Playoffs isn't going to happen
  13. 0-0 written all over it right from the start.
  14. How many points have we dropped at home against these bottom teams?
  15. Only 3 goals in 7 championship games. Ours has 0-0 written all over it.
  16. Red button should be banned. Football without fans is nothing. Come on Rovers. A scabby 1-0 will do.
  17. We're an away, counter-attack team. Teams like Stoke who come for the draw are a problem.
  18. Sounds similar to the Wigan debacle, another game when we failed to turn up.
  19. Much ado about nothing-nothing in every game so far. Come on Rovers.
  20. How long have you been supporting Rovers? You don't know your club!
  21. Brentford struggling. Makes our 2-2 there look poor
  22. Yes, we can get there but and at 5 points behind there isn't much room for error there can be no excuses in games like the next one against Stoke - its has to be 3 points. Over to you Tony
  23. Stoke a better side than the one we played earlier in the season and fighting for their livres. People debate "must win" games but these are the ones you really need to win with us 5 points behind. Tony will play it cautious as usual. I see another Wigan. This has 0-0 written all over it.
  24. Lovely photo. Boys in their school uniforms and men in smart coats and wearing ties and taking pride in their appearance. No such thing as "casual" clothing then; those people would be aghast at the way folk dress today.
