  1. Always Rovers, even outside the area.
  2. Which is probably what I was trying to say - that no one should get too excited by Saturday and that we're more than likely not to turn up in the next match. As has been pointed out, it's Rovers. No Rovers fan ever refers to the club or the team as Blackburn
  3. .... because it was false. Did you attend the home match with Wigan? We could have been in the top 6 that night but played like frightened schoolboys. We then took 3 points out of 15. Yesterday's was a fantastic result but it was a one-off. It's no co-incidence most of our best performances have been away. QPR will likely beat us in our next home match.
  4. Even allowing for the sending off, which seemed to knock the stuffing out of them, Sheffield Wednesday were dire. 5-0 wins away from home are a cause for celebration but I'd be amazed if we kick on from this and get anywhere near the play-offs. The rubbish served up over the Christmas and new year period is more of an indication of our real level than the complete aberration of yesterday's result.
  5. Stunning win but Wednesday were b. awful and doesn’t make up for the results and rubbish performances since mid-december which have effectively ended our season. It will need a huge effort to get back to where we were then and I don’t see it happening.
  6. Why play like this after the dross over the past 4 weeks? It doesn’t make any sense
  7. Rovers have money to spend on players ....... all is good Rovers have no money to spend on players .....all is good. No criticism of Rovers allowed on here. Un-chuffing-believable
  8. And another one... My Dad took me to my first professional match as a 5-year-old (Brighton v PNE) After about 20 minutes I asked in a loud voice: "Are they playing football or rugby?"
  9. Same old problem with the England top order batsmen - they make little cameo 30s and 40s but don't go on to make the big score. Struggle to make 300 plus now unless Stokes comes to the rescue
  10. Irrelevant and a non-sequitur - unless you are suggesting that billionaires are potty.
  11. Venky's are still here and financing the club. That's not tragic, despite their mistakes; it's a remarkable act of faith
  12. Q: How do you know? A: You don't
  13. Apologies. Please delete any of mine that add nothing

    You know the ones

  14. Me too. But I also think the senior "managers" haven't a clue what's going on either. They clearly weren't expecting Mulgrew to suddenly come back
  15. Do the people working at Rovers have any idea what is happening at Rovers?
  16. Just what we need ....... an overpaid ageing defender back on the books. Welcome back Charlie
  17. Bought for £700k and we can't even get our money back. Poor but not untypical of this Rovers management. Goodnight
  18. So both decent players according to you but we can't even get back the £700k we paid for them? Poor management
  19. So why sign them when they clearly weren't good enough and pay good money and then not even get our money back when they move on? Poor management in anyone;s book and after the Brereton and Gallagher debacles typical of the Ewood setup
  20. What was the fee they wanted ?
  21. If they are just "administrators" they should be paid accordingly. Waggott was on a basic £350,000 at Charlton 10 years ago. Do you think he will be on any less than us? Not bad for a pen pusher with no powers or authority.
  22. It was a bad idea, whoever came up with it. My money is on Waggott because his career is inextricable linked to Mowbray's. As fans of BRFC, we support the club not another here-today gone-tomorrow manager. Like many others, I was here for decades before Mowbray came and hopefully I'll be here for a few more years after he's gone. A Rovers flag with the club crest is fine, not one adorned with a failing manager
  23. Waggott is likely to be on an extremely good salary and I would imagine it is a secure job as long as he keeps his nose clean and the club ticking along in mid-table. Even if we were relegated, would he be sacked? Unlikely, I'd say. The status quo as we stand in the league at present suit Waggott and Mowbray perfectly. No pressure to get promoted and unlikely to go down either. The two of them will have set themselves up for life during their time at Ewood - with more years to add to their pension pots to come. So Waggott is hardly "on a loser"
  24. A few of us on here pointed to Wilder and the reputation he was building at Oxford and Northampton.
