  1. Indictment on us and Mowbray. We're a mid-table side slightly over-achieving at present.
  2. And the prize for biggest plonker goes to..... Jim's coffers did well on the contra Mercer bet though.
  3. BBC.... The news that all Blackburn fans were fearing - manager Tony Mowbray has confirmed that forward Bradley Dack sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury in Monday's draw with Wigan and will be out of action for a lengthy period.
  4. There's something in this. Before the unbeaten run we were slipping towards the bottom and Mowbray was under pressure - at least from fans on here and some at live matches. Now the pressure is off he and the team relaxes. Pushing for promotion is stressful. Methinks Tony likes the quiet life in midtable or just above. His pension manager thinks so too
  5. In the end, you need that little bit of quality to win games like that last 2 matches. That, or a collective never-say-die spirit for 90 minutes. We have neither
  6. Hats off to Stoke Goals in 93rd and 97th min to beat Owls 3-2.
  7. Two wins in this and the last game and we would have been sitting pretty in 4th as it stands. Two points out of 6 and 4 dropped at home to lower opposition is not a top 6 team. Rubbish, Mowbray.
  8. What was the Manic Street Preachers track - Some Kind of Nothingness? That's how I feel watching Mowbray's Rovers
  9. West Brom have fancied Dack for some time so the move could still be on when he recovers from injury. Still not sure why they want him - I don't see him as a Premier League player.
  10. Words fail me, and with that Merry Christmas
  11. They didn't look a poor team last night. They impressed me from the start to the final whistle.
  12. There have been many games this season where the players have been coasting.
  13. I've seen lots of Rovers promotion and relegation sides - and in my experience this ain't a promotion side. I've no faith in the ability of Mowbray to deliver promotion. But I hope I'm wrong.
  14. Players love being in a comfortable zone. It means they don't have to try too hard. That's us at the moment. Ferguson had people skills but the players were scared stiff of him too. Are our lot scared of Tony? He's far more likely to give them a hanky so they can cry
  15. But they are unlikely to "deliver it". That's what I've been saying. No tough, ruthless, or competitive enough. Bit of a soft touch to be honest.
  16. I've already said no one is special, including us. But we're not good enough to finish top 6.Last night showed why.
  17. Highly unlikely in my view. They're nothing special - bu then neither are we. We're not tough or ruthless enough. And we're too inconsistent
  18. Funnily enough, I received a letter (quaint I know) the other day addressed Manchester, Lancs.
  19. Some thoughts on last night. All the other Championship managers will have been watching last night and will see that this Rovers side can easily be bullied. Expect more of the same in games to come. Mowbray needs to sort it. Losing Dack is a big blow but Mowbray will have to find a different way to play without him. Holtby and Rothwell - who was terrible last night - need to step up. Nyambe - why does he need 3 touches to get the ball under control? It's not wonder he looks under pressure all the time. We're not a top 6 side. The best teams don't disappear for 45 minutes like we did and don't get dictated to like that. We need to stop being "nice". Fair play to Wigan - they looked anything but a bottom team and should have won the game.
  20. Wigan, Warrington, Widnes, Barrow, Southport, Manchester, Liverpool ....... all Lancashire to us old uns.
  21. Rubbish performance and result but predicted by me and few others. Wigan by far the better side and should have won Made some money on the contra Mercer bet though He hasn’t got a clue about football
  22. 1963 sticks in the memory. The shock of the 8-2 win away followed by the horror of the 3-1 defeat. Older West Ham fans chuckle about it too.
  23. Surprised no one has started a thread on this. Another member of England's one and only World Cup-winning team has gone. Alan Ball, Ray Wilson, Gordon Banks, Bobby Moore, Martin Peters. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50880336 Saw him play at Ewood. A class player.
  24. It's all set up Rovers on a winning run We're playing the bottom team Pushing for the top 6 Bumper crowd excited in anticipation We all know what happens next .
  25. £10 a ticket...it should be Come on Rovers
