  1. Who cares about Leeds when our own season is dead in the water? Another season goes by and we’re farther away from a return to the PL as ever. Please don’t anyway keep bleating we can still make the playoffs because it’s not going to happen. For me, I’m running out of time before the ref upstairs blows the final whistle. It’s so disappointing I won’t see us back where we belong Mowbray out Warnock in
  2. Entirely predictable result - although I said 2-1 Fulham. Fulham too good for us, and I cannot see why anyone thought we would win this match. Another wasted season wallowing in mid table but Tony's pension pot is much fatter. Will be going to Charlton next week for a good day out but there's no way we;ll beat them
  3. Sad to hear about Brian Pilkington. Another of these very good Burnley players who always seemed to be just that bit better than us back in the 1960s. Dementia is a vile disease.
  4. Might be wrong but IIRC Duggie did try to get a transfer from Rovers at one stage but was flatly turned down by the board.
  5. Fulham will be far too good for us. More quality in their side and a better manager. 2-1 defeat
  6. This is so sad. I feel very sorry for Tony and his family. Alzheimer's is a terrible disease, dementia takes away everything, it's one of the worst things that can happen to older people. All the best Tony, good player and true Rover
  7. Which doesn't mean he will play, plus the fact he likes players to sit on the bench and earn their place before playing them
  8. Why can't it be done? Because we're not good enough, plain as the nose on your face. The league table doesn't lie.
  9. Villa have a very good manager and one or two exceptional players. We have an average manager and some good players, with some key ones injured. Citing Villa as an example of something we can emulate as Chaddy has done is pure fantasy
  10. I don't see how Preston's history is relevant to Rovers in the Venky's era. We're different to PNE. We were an established PL club with a top management and infrastructure on a different level to theirs. Then we threw it away. The point is, the longer we remain out of the PL the harder it will be to get back. Since we were relegated in 2012 we haven't been in the playoffs once. I don't see any sign of progress whatsoever - on any level since we went down. There is a magic wand - it is identifying a very good manager and keeping him. Burnley have done it, and many others. I grates to see the likes of Bournemouth, Brighton and Watford - third division and fourth clubs to my mind - in the PL when we are languishing. I'd like your thoughts on why you think "we are making progress" - because I don't see any
  11. Really Parson? Now 8 or 9 years since we were relegated and I've not seen a step in the right direction since then, Let's call a mid-table finish what it is - treading water and leaving us farther from the Premier League than ever.
  12. We’re a mid table going nowhere except being stuck in the middle. The season is effectively over for
  13. Wigan signed 3 players in the final half hour. Forest showed the way for a high-flying club by being active; in fact most championship clubs have been busy. Surely, Mowbray and Co could have juggled the squad without spending a penny - sent a few out on loan who aren't getting a game and bringing in reinforcements on loan where they're badly needed? Perhaps they couldn't be arsed because they know we won't go down and are nowhere near good enough to go up so it's easier and more convenient to stick with what we've got. Either way, everyone seems to be on cushy, easy street at Ewood. Coupled with the the Brexit suicide mission, it's been a miserable end to the day. I only hope we get a good result at Boro tomorrow.
  14. Is Chaddy crying in his soup right now? Or has he got his just desserts for being so bullish? Food for thought.
  15. Chaddy in Twitter meltdown. The waiter probably paid him to leave the restaurant.
  16. Tough day for Chaddy. Rovers fail to make his 7-9 signings target and his Brexit day celebrations ruined when the cook serves up German sausages.
  17. Chaddy said 7 to 9 players would be in. Does that mean he's exaggerating a little?
  18. Luke Matheson, 17 years old, from Rochdale to Wolves for £1m Is that a good young lad on our doorstep we've missed?
  19. No reason why shouldn't have "kicked on" last season either when we were going well. Didn't happen then and won't happen now - especially with key players injured and no replacements.
  20. And it's false optimism because we won't make it!!
  21. Forest sold Brereton for £7m. They saw that club coming
  22. I honestly don't think a leak on a minor messageboard would have scuppered that deal. Weren't Rovers haggling over the fee and Villa just decided to pay it? Keep up the good work by the way.
  23. Neither was Brereton, but that's another story. With his scoring record, he must be worth at least as much as Gallagher though. I agree Armstrong has technical faults and is not top quality but he knows how to score and if he keeps on improving, Rovers will have a good asset on their hands. He was a good buy at £1.75m
  24. Armstrong has scored about 50 goals in 150 career appearances, and he's still only 22. Rovers should get a very good price for him if we had to sell, alot more than £1.75m we paid for him
