January transfer window 2020
jim mk2 replied to GunnerRover7's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
So why sign them when they clearly weren't good enough and pay good money and then not even get our money back when they move on? Poor management in anyone;s book and after the Brereton and Gallagher debacles typical of the Ewood setup -

What was the fee they wanted ? -
If they are just "administrators" they should be paid accordingly. Waggott was on a basic £350,000 at Charlton 10 years ago. Do you think he will be on any less than us? Not bad for a pen pusher with no powers or authority.
-
It was a bad idea, whoever came up with it. My money is on Waggott because his career is inextricable linked to Mowbray's. As fans of BRFC, we support the club not another here-today gone-tomorrow manager. Like many others, I was here for decades before Mowbray came and hopefully I'll be here for a few more years after he's gone. A Rovers flag with the club crest is fine, not one adorned with a failing manager
-
Waggott is likely to be on an extremely good salary and I would imagine it is a secure job as long as he keeps his nose clean and the club ticking along in mid-table. Even if we were relegated, would he be sacked? Unlikely, I'd say. The status quo as we stand in the league at present suit Waggott and Mowbray perfectly. No pressure to get promoted and unlikely to go down either. The two of them will have set themselves up for life during their time at Ewood - with more years to add to their pension pots to come. So Waggott is hardly "on a loser"

A few of us on here pointed to Wilder and the reputation he was building at Oxford and Northampton.

Championship season 2019-20
jim mk2 replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It would raise a big question as to why we have replaced one dodgy goalkeeper with one who is, if anything, even worse. -
The 1970s are irrelevant Parson. I look at clubs like Swansea, Brighton, Watford, Burnley and Bournemouth for heavens sake, and I see well run clubs that are no bigger or better than us. Mowbray would not be tolerated at any of them. This fatalistic "he's as good as we're going to get in our current situation" is killing us.

Whose idea was the flag and who's paid for it?
-
Neil Warnock. Look him up. If your memory extends to remembering how to use google

Although he doesn't score many and is probably not Championship material, Samuel can play a bit and is certainly better than Gallagher outside the box and better value for money. -
Tories got thumped 3-0

Loves talking about Brentofrd does Mowbray “Brentford jumps to mind, they’re third in the league with lots of talented foreign imports, bought relatively cheaply, but if you look for what they sell for, buying and selling is their model, buy for £1m and sell for £20m." That's presumably why they thought Raya was a snip at £3m. Buy low and sell high is a good business model but you have to spot the talent first. Apart from getting lucky with Dack, where is the evidence Mowbray can add value with the players he has bought? -
Me too. I was up in the air celebrating then realised to my horror he'd put it wide. Probably the nearest I'll get to Wembley in my lifetime. Good player who took all sorts of unwarranted criticism during his final years with us
-
Well played England against a weak South Africa side. Anything other than a 3-1 win would be sub-par. England have been blessed with some brilliant all-rounders over the years. Who is best - Botham, Flintoff or Stokes?
-
That's a good Test pitch and has been England's problem for years - they struggle to take wickets on tracks that offer little help to the bowlers
-
Michael Holding checks your posts on here before making comments. Interesting. ?
-
Tough for England to take 5 wickets in final session. SA showing how to save a Test match. Question marks again over Root's captaincy.
-
They are Brummies, aren't they? Corrected it for you. It's all about standards.
-
Watched it on MoD. Cracking game - Roichdale could easily have won. Newcastle right winger looks a good player.
-
The feeling among many fans is Mowbray has run his course. The club is going nowhere under him - expect possibly down again. The likelihood is that someone else would get more out of a relatively decent squad.
-
He's not working at the moment as far as I know - so it is very relevant, though whether he would want to come after being stupidly snubbed by the club is another matter. Keep the nonsense coming - it's on a par with the rubbish Mowbray spouts
-
Well Mr Wind-Up, Neil Warnock wanted to come to Ewood and he's certainly better than any we've had since Sam Allardyce.
-
Classic Mowbray doublespeak gobbledegook. This bloke overthinks football so much his brain must hurt.
-
Yep, us older ones still remember the glamour and the glory of the FA Cup. Shame Tony Mowbray doesn't. Rovers getting to the FA Cup final or even having a good run to the semis or quarters would give the club and the town such a huge boost.
