  1. We're missing Lewis Travis most though, don't you think?
  2. Siggi being injured is actually a bonus - just don't rate the lad at all. The squad is down to bare bones and the team picks itself now because there's few alternatives. Even if no one else gets injured there's no scope for resting out of form players and changing the team for tactical reasons is out of the question. It's unsustainable and hopes of a top 6 finish likely to be dashed. Come on Rovers
  3. I was behind the goal at the Den when Wahlsted (sp?) let one in through his fingers. Worse than anything I've seen in the women's game and far worse than Earps's blooper last night
  4. It isn't poor, it's great to watch. The level of skill and nous and commitment on show at Wembley tonight was the equal of anything in the men's game. May I kindly suggest you open your eyes and your mind
  5. Rather like the men's game then Actually you're wrong. The game was improved across all levels
  6. They were too good for us though, "men against boys", according to their players
  7. Brilliant game at Wembley tonight. Great England comeback Why people continue to denigrate the women's game is all wrong
  8. With all due respect we do need to keep signing forwards - forwards that are of use to the first team and not either injured/not good enough/future projects. "Oven ready" as one useless article used to say. We have a small squad, alot of key players are injured, money is tight and we can't afford any passengers - which Ennis and Telelovic (sp?) are. The squad as it stands at present is unsustainable over the course of the season and a serious push for the playoffs likely to be derailed because of it
  9. I liked the look of Dembele tonight. Big, strong, fast, skilful, we don't have a striker like him
  10. A decent, proper striker wouldn't go amiss......someone better than Hirst, Ennis and the German lad
  11. "Them" two Carter and Hill played well again tonight and Hill has been a revelation across the defence all this season but I would still prefer Carter and Hyam as my 2 central defenders with Hill at right back. Szmodics needs to be wrapped in cotton wool between games, he's in such good form that an injury to him is unthinkable. Talking of injuries, how near are any of the walking wounded, especially the excellent JRC, near to returning? The squad is so tight that any of "them" players coming back would be a bonus
  12. Daft comment when you're 4-2 down and on a bad run under a poor manager They're a bit thick in Brum
  13. Goalscoring midfield players are worth their weight in gold That's our Sammie Szmodics!
  14. Get your retaliation in first matey!
  15. Poor old Burnley, couldn't happen to a nicer mob. Sticking my neck out here and it's based on a hunch more than anything else but I expect Kompany to turn their fortunes around and I don't think they'll go down. There's some poor sides at the bottom of the Prem and there's always 1 or 2 teams that fall away from mid-table in the latter half of the season. Tin hat is on.....
  16. Big game for Rovers against big club because winning away and losing at home which we are at present is pointless - literally. Rovers need to address the poor home form urgently and Wednesday against a poor Birmingham team is a good place to start. Anything other than a comfortable win would be unacceptable and Tomasson needs to get his selection and tactics right Rovers 2 Birmingham 0
  17. Revived England in spectacular fashion after the disaster of Graham Taylor but turned out to another nearly man - got England to the semi-final in our own national stadium and by far the best team in the tournament yet still somehow managed to blow it. I don't know why the FA let Venables go because he was a breath of fresh air and Hoddle and Keegan, who followed him, ruined his legacy by turning out to be even more disastrous than Taylor. It's also forgotten that Venables was a top-class player too. RIP
  18. Good article on Lucas Neill. He was at Preston crown court so assume he lives locally. Not the first and won't be the last footballer to lose millions, though it seems he has been naive rather than negligent in his business dealings. Wouldn't classify him as a hard man but he certainly didn't shirk a tackle
  19. If that’s the case and it’s really that simple then the manager is at fault. He’s found a system of playing without a striker that is successful away from home so he needs to do the same at home. Everyone is praising him as a coaching genius after another fine win today but he’s clearly not solved the Ewood conundrum. If we follow up today by beating Birmingham we might be getting somewhere
  20. So true. Today counts for naught if we don’t win or at least draw against Birmingham on Wednesday. The rot has to stop
  21. How to explain this cracking away form but continuing bad results at home?
  22. Brilliant results away, poor at home suggest we should try something different in matches at Ewood. Come on Mr Tomasson, it's up to you
