  1. Division One defending and National League goalkeeping. Not good enough On past form, that's that for today folks
  2. Brittain should be right back and Hill centre half with AN Other (good player) in Brittain's place farther forward
  3. It means he's a defender playing out of position because of lack of alternatives and when he's presented with a chance his natural instinct is not to shoot
  4. The point is, they're square pegs in round holes. It doesn't work
  5. Fielding a full back in Brittain on the wing and Sigurdsson up front sums up this threadbare squad and patch-up-and-mend team. . You have to feel sorry for the manager
  6. The question has to be why. After a promising start Sigurdsson has been ordinary to say the least for the past 6 months. Some of his displays have been downright poor. He doesn’t look Championship standard to me.
  7. They'll be far too strong for us and I can't see anything other than a defeat And assuming he's in the Saints team the immutable law of the ex will come into play and Adam Armstrong will score. He's at his right level in the Championship
  8. Ennis needs a rest. It’s been a hard season for him
  9. You're talking my language there bazza. Bit younger than you, only saw the last 2 years of steam. 10D Heaven
  10. Dyche doing a cracking job at Everton and making light of the 10-point deduction. And to think he was out of work for a while and we could have have offered him a job. I'm sure his former connection with our illustrious neighbours would not have been a problem.
  11. Mike England was shoved up front in an emergency many years ago. But you'd never call him a forward, or striker in modern parlance. The way Szmodics plays the game isn't that of a striker by any definition.
  12. Are we that hard to beat? But I agree that we are a "powder puff" team The Tottenham striker Son apparently labelled Spurs "soft" after their home defeat by West Ham last week and Tottenham are known in the game as "Spurs-y" because of their fragile nature and tendency to cave in under pressure, often against lesser teams. Should we be known as "Rovers-y" too? We usually win when teams let us play our passing game but our nice, fragile lads often disappear in the face of many of the muck-and-nettles players and teams in the Championship - Leeds and Preston being recent examples. Rovers-y Rovers. Sounds rather good, don't you think?
  13. The Times had a piece this week saying Arsenal signed Raya because of his "ability with his feet" This is getting beyond daft IMO. I'd prefer to have a goalkeeper who hoofed it upfield every time but could do the basics right - like catching crosses and saving shots.
  14. I’m not blaming him. Just saying he looked fed up and disillusioned. Don’t think he’ll be with us much longer
  15. Tomasson looks a beaten man to me. He’s realised he’s taken this club and team as far as it can go
  16. Press a soft team and it gives in 1-0 Leeds
  17. Travis back is good and ought to be in the starting XI although his Cambridge fans club won't be pleased. Siggi I'm not sure about - just don't think much of him as a player. Ennis - who knows? Will he get injured by a passing butterfly between now and the game?
  18. And again, thanks for the info. Looks like we're signing a whole new team
  19. My, Gregg has been busy and it's wonderful to see Rovers so active in the transfer market for a change. Could you provide a source please?
  20. Have to agree I'd be amazed if we win this one though it's on occasions like this when the odds are stacked against us that Rovers sometimes pull off a surprise win. For that to happen though every player will have to be on their mettle with no silly mistakes and the chances we are offered will have to be taken Possibly Rovers 2 Leeds 1 More realistically Rovers 0 Leeds 3
  21. Not brilliant, not the best we might have and certainly not Premier League - I was at Stamford Bridge when he was given the run-around by Raheem Sterling, - but a solid player who rarely lets us down. Pleased he's staying
  22. Cracking reply that, snide but typical Fact is, I've thoroughly enjoyed watching the Lionesses these past few years; the standard of football is excellent and getting better all the time and unlike most of their male counterparts the players are a credit to themselves and their country England's absence from the Nations League finals and the Great Britain team from the Olympics as a result of tonight's results is deeply disappointing and yeah, it feels worse at the moment than a Rovers defeat because a Rovers defeat happens quite often and doesn't have the same consequences. There's always another game a few days later. So there you go: an explanation if that's what you wanted. Now you have a try .
  23. Gutting, feels worse than a Rovers defeat
  24. England men's v women's cricket, men v women at tennis, or rugby, boxing. It's irrelevant.
