v Southampton (h) - 25/10/25
metalrover replied to Elrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Massive win, massive relief. Can't blame the team for the effort, but we were lacking a presence and a cutting edge in the final third throughout. Glad Gudjohnsen got his 1st goal for us. Toth my motm today. -

We could be bottom by this weekend if Wednesday beats Oxford at hills -

10 games into season, we are in deep deep trouble. Rock bottom very soon, with record low points tally. Can't see how this lot can turn this around. It's League One football next season. -

This squad lacks the quality to even stay in the Championship, head coach is clearly out of depth, won't be surprised if we ended up finishing rock bottom with a record low point tally. League One is staring at us right in the face. -

We'll be firmly entrenched in the bottom three by the next international break. This team is simply not good enough. -
Tavares replacement for Travis is a massive gamble, which has so far backfired miserably. The sheer numbers of cheap unknown signings from foreign leagues lower divisions replacing proven 1st team players is clear evidence of their transfer policy having zero ambition or any regards to risking the club's Championship status.

A modern professional football player needs to be able to handle criticism on & off the pitch, online & offline. Glad the lad got his 1st goal of the campaign, hopefully he builds on it, add to his tally & proves his critics wrong. Tbh I am yet to be convinced that he'll be able to perform consistently.

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach

VI appears to be unsackable, we will surely be playing L1 next season -
Good signing but he won't be able to save us from relegation

By end of November, my prediction is we will be firmly rock bottom and we won't be able to get out of it. Relegation is staring at us in the face. If we goes down this time round, we'll be down there for a very long time. -

Can't see him turning things around quicky, after barely half a dozen games the rot has truly began. It's gonna be a long sad season -

Yasin Ayari scored a screamer for Brighton, only if we had signed him permanent. Hull 3 up against saints Wednesday 2up away at Portsmouth -

When was the last time a decision like this went our way? Need a goal now -

VI's blind faith in Ohashi is costing us, he's too weak and too slow to be a lone no. 9 in the Championship, time to bring on the ice man -

Just one game and he's back in treatment room. Absolutely unreliable. Failure to sign a proper Hyam replacement is surely going to be costly. -
VI seems to like Montgomery very much

He finally found his league, wish him all the best. Can't help feeling heart wrenching for him after watching his emotional farewell video though.

Dolan now thriving in La Liga, while big Ben turned into a loan journey man playing for derby. Couldn't have imagined this, not even in my wildest wet dream.

The Ipswich team looked head & shoulders above ours on paper, not optimistic about this one. Once they get going, I think they are still the automatic promotion favorites comes end of the season. -
2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂

He's quite a big lad, need to use his physicality to full advantage in his game if he's not going to run & tackle too much. He looked way out of depth in the Championship, wish jack all the best in league 1. -

JDT's style of play towards the end of his era clearly didn't work, but he persisted with it. We very nearly paid a heavy price for his stubbornness. The passing out from the back gave me heart attacks, we clearly didn't have the players for such style of play. -

v Watford (a) - 13/9/25
metalrover replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Delighted with the 3 points, expected us to screw this one up, Watford away was always tough. Surprisingly they hardly threaten today. Positives : Wharton & Carter defensive partnership off to a good start. Wharton my motm. Morishita's winner on his debut, should had scored two after that screamer hit bar. Alebiosu looked good, adapting well to the Championship. Trondstad solid in the holding midfield, Mr reliable in midfield. Negatives : Ohashi looked too weak to lead the frontline, can't hold up the ball, and not quick enough. Matter of time Gudjohnson will be main centre forward. Tavares, one good pass from him, the rest was awful. Looked a long way from Championship standard. Subs : Gudjohnson looked promising -

New boy Morishita looks like he got an eye for goals Alebiosu play ok, adjusting well to the Championship Tavares looks very lightweight at the middle and quite frankly not good enough. Big problem in that midfield when Trondstad leaves. Defensive pairing looks ok, Wharton & Carter both look decent so far
