  1. Good work important to keep regular meetings of this nature, so the MP'S can actually get proper feedback from the fans rather than a seemingly censored version from the club. (I note how certain she is re-election that's she is already setting up meetings for the future. :))
  2. Quite simply unless we beat Villa it's academic. Win that one and see what the situation is.
  3. What was the outcome of the previous dealings with this women, and why is the meeting limited to such a short time of 20-30 minutes?
  4. Could we also register the football club as an asset? Although there's no physical presence, it's the history, culture, visitors to the local area etc that to me says it's definitely an asset to the local community.
  5. Agree with Stuart. Also think that the Trust should try and gain the asset of community value status on Brockhall, the club use the facility to provide training sessions for several years below professional ages, so would that count as a Reason?
  6. I don't know anything about their support, and to be fair the counter to injuries for Cas, is that you can only beat what's in front of you. Agree it will beinteresting at the end of the season, but they are making hay whilst quite a few of the bigger teams are playing poorly, it's better to see a smaller club do well than the same 6 or 7 clubs finish in the top places every season.
  7. Disappointed, but Ireland deserved it, took far too long to deal with their rolling maul. Was a tight game, and one moment of brilliance or a referees call separated the teams. No disgrace in losing to Ireland- they where pre-tournament favorites for many people on the back of their win vs the All Black's and good performance vs Australia in the Autumn.
  8. Shame about the injury, more or less ended the fight as a contest at that point. Brave of Haye to carry on but it must be a worry for Bellew he couldn't finish off a static and lame opponent - the final stoppage was as much that Hayes couldn't get up, as it was a lethal punch. In fact Bellew had to slow down to stop punching himself out. Rematch at Goodison Park? Really depends where Bellew wants to go, and if Haye fights on. For that though IMO Joshua would stop Bellew comfortably, and I see no upside for Joshua to have that fight anyway. It was cringeworthy watching Haye beg for a rematch.
  9. Castleford thrashing Leeds 42-6 after 50 minutes. Brilliant attacking performance, they could be dark horses in the league based on this.
  10. Erm....where did I say it's the protesters fault?
  11. Mowbray is at least experienced, and with experience in this division. His teams play attacking football, but aren't always great defensively. He seems a straight talker, plenty of interviews where he admits a performance wasn't good enough. So although far from a 1st choice, he's a long way from last choice, so we've got that to be thankful for. Wether it works out, who knows but Coyle was given a fair crack of the whip, and failed, so at least the owners seem to actually recognise we need a change to avoid being relegated ( hardly a virtue, but I honestly thought they'd completely cut off contact). Massive 12 games for the club coming up, is it time to stop protests during a game until our fate is sealed - either Way?
  12. Brilliant last try, but yet another performance built on solid defence. For all the Welsh pressure and possession in English territory they looked increasingly less likely to score. Launchbury in particular was outstanding, high tackle rate, didn't miss a tackle and only the one infringement when he unluckily got pinned in the ruck on top of the ball - a tactic the Welsh tried to employ all match, but without much success.
  13. Not quite sure how England won that. Very sloppy at times. Decent try by Grant Hanley for Les Frogs.
  14. Well done to the Jocks, fantastic performance vs Ireland.
  15. How do you score 350, get the opposition 4 down early on, and yet never look like winning the Game? Didn't look like England had a plan on how to stem the flow of runs, or get individual batsmen out.
  16. No matter what county you run, you are going to be away from home for 1/2 a season at least. Plus do you think he would turn down the England job, where you spend 6 months out of the country?
  17. Strange one for me. Can only assume Warwickshire have given him a bigger budget.
  18. I think you can have a couple of players capable of scoring quickly and taking the game away from the opposition, like a Butler or Stokes, as long as you have a player capable of occupying the crease at the other end - something hopefully Hameed looks like he may be able to do. Ali is a decent all rounder, but not a top order batsman. One of the other issues is the lack of conversion from getting 30 runs into centuries - we seem to struggle mentally if they cover the boundaries. Bowling, our spinners are bog standard, but it's not like there's much competition for those places at present.
  19. Brilliant program on BBC2 'The Big Life Fix' showing how designers and technology can transform people's lives. Tonight's episode featured a bespoke app and speech box to help a guy left unable to talk after a stroke to communicate with his family, and a BMW bike adapted for a lad who was born without hands or feet, so he could fit in with his able-bodied friends. That as well as groundbreaking tech to help farmers against rustlers.
  20. Doesn't matter how good your batting lineup is doing, if you can't bowl the other side out, you don't win. Mistake to have 4 seamers on this pitch?
  21. Thats the strangest mackem accent I've ever heard, must be the same part as Pieterson. At a guess it must be the bit bordering Durham. I don't understand how you can play u19 for SA and then decide your English. Most sports wouldn't allow that. Good luck to the lad though.
  22. I think Jimmy will retire after the next ashes, he's becoming a bit more fragile to smaller injuries, and even has had a couple of occasions when he hasn't been in the new ball pairing. As for replacements, I don't see anyone with the same quality coming through- as we are concentrating more on the shorter forms of the game, its the big-hitters and steady bowling all-rounders like Liam Lawrence at Lancs, and even pace off the ball spinners we are seeing more of, I don't see many kids being given a chance to come through as a seam bowler.
