  1. Unbelievable innings going on right now from Stokes, with Bairstow scoring at just under a run a ball playing sedately.
  2. Apart from the last ball before and the first ball after tea, was very much Englands day. Stokes and Bairstow did a very good job of staving off the pressure, and scoring at a decent strike rate to force South Africa back. Think if England can get another 100 on the board in this innings, and a pitch set up to rewards the likes of Broad and Finn, it could well be a very nice position by tomorrow evening.
  3. Im sure you can get a pie at the ground.
  4. What a muppet. He must be very proud to only be employable in the footballing backwaters of Brunei. I reckon they'd get beat by Chorley, and might give Bamber Bridge a game. P.s. That massive 24k crowd they had for their final game, where given free tickets.
  5. To be fair on the rumours, there where a couple of relatves on hear backing up those rumours.
  6. For me, we should be looking to have them out on loan playing games. If they can prove it away from Ewood, then give them a chance. In fact Mahoney should have stayed at Stanley, on season long loans, he'd learn far more than against Burnley u21's. We should be playing OSullivan more to see if he's good enough, or if we should let go. He's at the age that he should be good enough to stake a claim for a starting place now.
  7. He's only been there a few days, give him a chance.
  8. Came on with 4-5 mins left when Chorley where 3-1 up against 10 men.
  9. Must be hard to play test cricket in those harsh conditions, with only a handful of people in the ground. Still see no reason for moving Ali up the order, he does a good job playing a few shots in lower mid-order, different kettle of fish as an opener. We have some serious batting issues at present, and keep trying the same people. Haven't seen SA recently, but they should be relishing the prospect of the 4 tests.
  10. Think he's only made it public today, hope he recovers. Cracking player for us, would have continued to be so until he fell foul of Souness' training ground arguments.
  11. stupid decision, although was there not some problems at Ewood with the away fans when we played them in the youth cup? At worst make it tickets only, and only if you're on the database.
  12. Here you go, full stats: http://soccerstats.us/games/24332/ Looks like a strong squad to me.
  13. Watched Whiplash last week, was good but I didn't think was exceptional. Also watched Unbroken this weekend and thought it was excellent. Without wanting to spoil this, its a true story that really is amazing, Spoiler Alert As a boy, Louis "Louie" Zamperini is always in trouble, but with the help of his older brother, he turns his life around and channels his energy into running. When World War II breaks out, his plane crashes in the Pacific, he survives adrift in a raft, until his capture by the Japanese navy before being sent to a POW camp in Japan.

Apt quote from Kendall in the article above: "Blackburn Rovers are not going to stand still, not if I have anything to do with it"
  15. Ive seen some poor decisions by referees in my time, but if there was one game where I really thought it may have been more than mistakes, it would have been that game.

To young to see him at Rovers, but remember fans telling me about his time at the club and how he rescued us from the 3rd division doldrums. Thoughts to his friends and family.
  17. Still raging at that decision....
  18. Nzonzi was dropped by Sam after his first season when he came back from the summer a bit cocky. 3 weeks later he was back in the team and playing well.John Williams policy was that if our players where offered more money elsewhere then he would do his best to match that. It's hardly the same as holding the club to ransom. The fact about both of them, is that they always did their very best for the club on the field.
  19. Funny how they where perfectly good under a proper manager and board. Would you stand idly by if you saw your team being dismantled, your manager being replaced by a drunken idiot and team-mmates not being played because they didn't fit the mould of being cheap and rubbish?
  20. The last 3 games Leeds have had big decisions go their way in each of the games. The second try was a definite knock-on, and at a pretty crucial time, however the longer the game went on, the more devoid of ideas Wigan seemed to have. The narrowness of the ingoal area needs addressing at old trafford, it doesn't make for a centre-piece finale.
  21. If they cut out all the nonsense acts, the bootcamps etc they could complete a series easily in 6 weeks. At least the money raised from strictly goes to children in need.
  22. Pretty sure its very much the other way round in most couples, with the wives wanting to watch it.Personally I just hate that both Strictly and Xfactor are on for months now, and have both elongated to have shows on prime time Saturday and Sunday night.
  23. Its no wonder people just download the films online is it.I still use lovefilm, £15 a month for 3 films or us tv series (house of cards) a week, many of them only a couple of months after their cinema release, and years before they go on sky.
  24. Another of a decent PL squad basically forced out in a cost cutting exercise.
