  1. We beat the world champions at home, that makes us World Champions doesn't it? Really good performance by England, we still look a little susceptible at the back, but great heart, desire and pressing from the team, caused a pretty one-paced Germany an awful lot of problems.
  2. 1 chalked off for offside for Germany, that was onside, so fair enough. Lallana blasted a gilt edge chance well over the bar too, but little criticism of him by the commentry team. Delle Alli continues to impress me.
  3. Its Le Tour de Chorley marque deux this weekend.... https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/springcup/article/20160320-Motorpoint-Spring-Cup-begins-with-Chorley-Grand-Prix-0
  4. British humour...... http://www.independent.co.uk/news/boaty-mcboatface-could-be-the-name-of-200m-research-vessel-after-public-vote-a6942551.html
  5. The turnovers and line-out steals of Itoye and Kroos won the game for England. Deserved it in the end, but stupid penalties nearly cost us.
  6. They need to speed up both the setting up of a scrum - seems to be an attitude, of ok its a scrum, let's all have a break, drink, quick massage then begin to get together. As for the number of penalties, if you have a 50 % chance of getting a few points (or greater if the ref has taken a dislike to one particular players technique), or a yellow card for the opposition, then why bother trying for a try? As above, let them lie down, they'll soon stop. They also need to reduce the minute allowed to take a kick at goal (should be 30 seconds max). Also reduce the points for penalties kicked outside of 30m, to 2, so it encourages more attacking play. Other than that, well done England, lets hope we follow up the win with the slam.
  7. Quite scary that we have won 4 on the bounce at home, and still are only 8 points clear. On the other hand, Im looking more up the table than down after recent performances.
  8. Quigg landed the better punches, but lost on lower work rate. To be fair I think Frampton knew he was so far ahead on points, he just needed to avoid a knock out in the last 4 or 5 rounds, so let Quigg come on to him a bit more. Poor fight overall.
  9. Played well today, thought the ref kept Ireland in the game. Bit like at Ewood today, seemed to always be looking to find a reason to give a decision one way.
  10. I think the plan was to keep Topley for the last over. It was poor, but you need to have a look at the batting really, we didn't get enough runs on board, and gave away quite a few soft wickets.
  11. FFP should only be limited to say that a clubs owners can invest what they want into a club, as long as it is cash, not loans, or debts, including leveraged buyouts, with a secondary rule that any players wages that would put a club above a 100% wage to turnover % should also be funded directly by the owners. After that, if someone is stupid enough to want to sign James Milner and pay him 1/2 a million a month, that's their own problem.
  12. Scotland and Italy are the 2 weakest teams in the 6 nations statistically over the last few years. It was a very close game vs Italy until the interception try, at which point their heads dropped and England pro-fitness showed. After 60 minutes vs Italy we had given away 12 penalties, which if against Dan Biggar or Jonny Sexton, would have been far more harshly punished. It's early days after the world cup, under new management, and bedding in a few youngsters, but the next 3 games will be a much sterner test. I fail to see how thats somehow worthy of the 'some fans' stuff above.
  13. Shouldn't have been allowed as Barca had both Suarez and Neymar encroaching within the 'D' when Messi touched the ball.
  14. 2 pretty average performances from England so far, against the 2 weaker teams. Give the same number of penalties away against the other 3 teams, and we'll struggle to win.
  15. Seems that the captaincy may be affecting DeVilliers game as much as it did Amlas.
  16. To be fair we need a goalscorer with pace and a bit of aggression, get him signed up!
  17. The obvious home for Nintendo is the android/apple tablet market, but that definitely would be the end of their consoles.
  18. Theres a time and a place for these things, i.e. Just ask her once the interview ends, but apart from that he's a single guy asking a woman to join him for a drink, hardly worthwhile of massive media coverage.
  19. Nintendo has stagnated in that the majority of the biggest games they now release are just remakes of their old games, with little innovation. They also apppear to have targeted their games at the younger end of the age market, away from those serious gamers with large disposable income in their 20's and early 30's. They don't only need 3rd party support, they also need to re-evaluate their strategy too. Incidentally, anyone seen any of the Sony VR headsets yet, to know if they are likely to be a passing trend, or the future of gaming?
  20. Benitez gets a 3 year contract pay-out for 6 months of poor results. Zizou new manager, very surprised it's not Mourinho to be honest.
