  1. And one of his preferred choices to be the next England manager! Him and Gerrard.
  2. When we do win, there is seldom any strong criticism really though over the entertainment value, even if it is commented on as a general point regarding the match.
  3. Why do our fans enjoy making the general fanbase out to be a torch bearing mob? I have not seen one person suggest that 3rd is not good enough. People can mention the entertainment value or lack of whilst acknowledging that results are the important thing. @Eddie have you been to Ewood this season and if so, does the negativity there match what you have said on here?
  4. As bad as he has been here and as far away from Championship standard as he is, he will get a League 1 move. Pompey would have him back.
  5. I would presume that surely a whole new recruitment team having time to get settled wouldnt resort in going back repeatedly to Maja and Dembele.
  6. Ive always felt that this idea of how "bad" a situation that Tomasson inherited was over the top. You have to be really bad to be at the bottom of this league such is the poor standard and Kaminski, Pickering, Ayala, Wharton, Buckley, Travis, Dolan, Brereton and Gallagher all featured heavily for us last season and we finished 8th. He also had a reasonable budget to add to that which was used with mixed success and the return of Dack and a settled Hedges. Not to deny of course that you cant really argue with 3rd.
  7. Yep, Lambert football was dull too. I think some have a better view of him than his actual results and football warranted because he did well with PR to make it look like he was making a stand. He then did the same for the 2 or 3 jobs that he had after that having struggled in them all.
  8. Even amidst their disinterest they did a better job of owning us than the twats who followed!
  9. Sunderland being linked with Surridge and Boro with Archer tonight. Meanwhile our current strike force reads Gallagher, Vale and Hirst.
  10. Entertainment is subjective, I personally have found very little entertainment in the way that we play under Tomasson, it is very slow, we don't create chances very often, there isn't much scope for flair and you are seldom on the edge of your seat. Purely aesthetically, I would say that the last manager to display such boring football disregarding effectiveness for a moment is Appleton. I am also of the opinion that if we win, I am totally satisfied and happy and the level of performance is irrelevant in comparison. I'd take as many boring 1 nil wins as possible please. But still the performance is worthy of discussion on a wider scale. It probably makes it even more boring that every time we concede first, it feels like game over straight away. Whereas aside from 2 slips ups in the last week, when we score we usually grind out a win.
  11. No, my team was: Kaminski Carter Phillips Wharton Pickering Travis A Wharton Markanday Szmodics Hedges Gallagher Equally happy with Hyam next to Wharton and also Brereton in should Szmodics not be fit. And even that was reluctantly weaker than is ideal. A few changes but still plenty of first teamers. You have just assumed that every single main starter is carrying an injury and cannot play between this 2 week gap.
  12. I know, I am asking why we agreed to it. Last time I checked a contract is a two way agreement. If a Championship team takes him then more fool them.
  13. The clear difference is that I am interested in Rovers qualifying for the next round of the FA Cup, and you aren't arsed. I wouldn't take risks with players carrying injuries and/or with records like Ayala, but I would like to see a strong team making a good fist out of it.
  14. Why have we taken that clown without a break clause on our side? Same with Mola. Lets hope they are both recalled ASAP. Hirst just needs a run of games in the Leicester team and they have a younger Vardy.
  15. He doesn't appear any slower to me than he ever was. I am not convinced that anyone offered anything for him. No one would have paid a fee.
  16. Ayala is someone with a terrible injury record and in an area where we can slot Scott Wharton in. By all means, leave him as an isolated case back home. If Brereton like anyone is carrying an injury then of course, don't play him. But if not, then put them in contention. It's not as if its an extra game midweek, there is a week either side, and with Gallagher and Pickering, the alternatives are so poor that it massively decreases our ability to be competitive.
  17. Elliott is not a top level player either, for a while I have seen him as a weak link in that Liverpool team, he doesn't do enough and his dummy last night was stupid. Often talked about as an England player in the near future, not for me at this stage. Considering how much he stood out here and how off it he looks at Liverpool, it perhaps adds perspective to thoughts of Morton breaking into their team.
  18. Surely we should or even offer him a new 2 year deal? Not a huge badge of honour considering the alternatives but by far our best attacker since the break. Seems to be as fit as he ever was.
  19. Am I right in thinking that a replay will happen in the event of a draw, having been reinstated? Also, assuming there would be. 1 nil down, penalty last minute, what do people hope for?
  20. I don't get why it has to be one extreme or another. There will be a few (Ayala, Dack, maybe Brereton) that could do with a match off, and a couple who don't really weaken us (S Wharton, A Wharton, Carter at RB, Travis) who could do with a game. So it doesn't have to be the same team, but equally it doesn't have to be a totally changed side (I suspect it will) and essentially handing in the towel before kick off with the likes of Hirst, Vale, Mola and Edun.
  21. So what you are saying is, Norwich will be up for it, let them go through, who cares?
  22. It really isnt. The improvements were not to the scale that were initially planned for financial reasons.
