  1. How do you know that he had his salary doubled? I am not arguing for the sake of it, but I am not having that the club gave him a deal due to loyalty. At that point in time, he was recovering from injury but was on the cusp of first team football but had 6 months (18 including an option) which would have meant that assuming he did recover, that a fantastic player at this level would potentially leave for free as soon as he got fit. It was a calculated gamble that somewhat backfired when he then did his other knee. He doesn't owe us anything and we don't owe him anything.
  2. How do we know it was "much improved?" And it wasnt particularly long either. It was a mutually beneficial arrangement that protected both parties, not a gesture of loyalty.
  3. People keep going on about Dack apparently. It would be interesting to see whic poster had posted the most in discussions about him...
  4. I am not sure that either party specifically has been "incredibly loyal" to the other, everything has always been done with both sides acting in their best interests. We wanted to tie Dack down to get benefit out of him for a while prior to the expiry of his contract, unaware of the second injury to come.
  5. We have 2 very capable full/wing backs, both of whom impressed at the weekend, how about playing them in their correct positions? Dropping Pickering who should have been man of the match to then play Brittain there who had a shocker at Coventry playing on his wrong side, to then play Hedges who perhaps in easier home games can drift and have a free role with Carter filling in as a right back at times, it just all makes no sense. I think Kaminski, Brittain, Ayala, Hyam, Pickering, Travis, Morton, Brereton and Gallagher all pick themselves. You then build around that, do you go with a back 3 with S Wharton and if so, do you play Hedges, Szmodics or Adam Wharton? Kaminski Hyam Ayala Wharton Brittain Morton Travis Pickering Hedges Gallagher Brereton Subs: Pears, Dack, Szmodics, Markanday, Carter, A Wharton, Buckley Focus on getting loads of height around their keeper at set pieces.
  6. He paused and said "probably" and then gave the answer that any player would give in that situation. "I am desperate to leave, I hate it here and I want more money" was probably unlikely.
  7. The idea of loyalty in football is an idealistic one, players have short careers and equally clubs will act in their own best interests, Brereton will happily run his contract down for example, but no one could blame him for that. But why do all fans get lumped into one? You get a few predominantly teenagers with nothing else better to do than respond to his girlfriend on twitter, but Dack is still immensely popular, one look on here tells you that, never mind when he warms up and he receives fanfare far exceeding any other player. To imply that the fans are part of the reason specifically why Dack shouldn't show loyalty is totally unfair, but I guess it creates debate.
  8. Joe Gomez is horrendous, see his back pass v Leeds as recent evidence, his career has partially due to injury horribly stagnated. I don't have a clue how Mount gets in, he is so average. You have left out Saka who is a brilliant talent, moved Foden to the right and also left out Maddison who has been performing at a level miles higher than Mount over a sustained period of time. That is even before you come onto the selection of Dier who is an accident waiting to happen and will be beside another in Maguire. Stones has barely played and when he does its at right back, White has started to excel only since being moved to right back, we look so weak there.
  9. Foden is our best player beside Kane, one of very few to have been playing consistently at a top level, he has to play. Rashford even in a bit of moderate form blows hot and cold.
  10. Some of them go beyond form. Players like Maguire, Mount and Grealish are key players for Southgate but they have left a lot to be desired for years. Same with Sterling really. Any team of any quality will rub its hands together against our fragile defence, if it is Stones who has barely played for a while (and when he does its at right back) next to Maguire and Dier who are simply not good enough at the top level then its hard to be optimistic. The attack should be Saka, Foden and Kane but I doubt it will be.
  11. So many of that squad are either horribly out of form or injured. Walker, Phillips and James all injured, Sterling has been crap all season, Mount crap and overrated, Grealish has done nothing since joining City, Dier crap, Calvert Lewin has done nothing for ages and has only just come back from injury, Ward Prowse is out of form, Henderson is out of form and always injured and we have no centre backs with either quality or any real form to speak of. We go into the World Cup in a very poor state really.
  12. Tomasson won't like Brereton mentioning promotion when he spends every interview playing our chances down. If this quote makes reality TV then I can see him being frozen out. (The quote about his future is slightly misleading, he paused and said "probably")
  13. What is your answer to my first question, are you glad he is at the club? Cunt is unnecessary but you are basing not only on actions now but are biased because youve met him and seemingly he was a nice bloke. Im sure you have been critical of Waggott and I'm almost sure that you have called him Maggott before.
  14. A rumour can be defined as "a currently circulating story or report of uncertain or doubtful truth." Its a rumour.
  15. Maddison is better than Mount, and Calvert-Lewin certainly shouldn't go. Dier is another accident waiting to happen just like Maguire.
  16. As you have said, but if we take that so literally, this whole messageboard is a waste of everyone's time.
  17. You was his biggest critic prior to meeting him, would you now say that you are happy with him at the club and you would rather he stayed, or do you still have doubts? I wouldn't go as far as calling him a cunt so I can get why that might be questionable, I don't know him. Just interested to see if your opinion on him professionally has changed, and if so, I would suggest that there is a danger of your previous instincts to judge him on actions have been overruled by what he has said to you and what you think he comes across like as a person.
  18. My main point has been how Dack has not been utilised at least as a sub, including on occasions when Hirst and/or Vale have been given game time ahead of him. So yes, there CAN be a comparison made between Dack and Hirst/Vale, irrespective of their best position. Dack IMO could and should have been used far more within those 8 losses whereby Tomasson has not managed to overcome a goal deficit. I do rate him higher than Szmodics too and I would have him starting but at least Szmodics has shown some use when he has played unlike Hirst and Vale. Him being ahead of Hirst, Vale and even Dolan as a sub is very clear cut, he is miles better.
  19. Rumours upon rumours now, with 2 different layers of reality TV shows included.
  20. I suspect that the rumours are as laughable and as fictional as they seem until I see anything of substance otherwise.
  21. What does "accept his decisions" even mean? I don't agree with them so I will say as much, not try to understand it. I don't understand why inferior players are brought on ahead of him. Dack is more likely to score or assist than Vale or Hirst. Some of the crap I have read (him not wanting to train extra due to reality TV is a new highlight) is just fabricated nonsense done with the intention of justifying the situation. On the meeting, you said absolutely nothing after courting attention in advance of the meeting, so hypocrisy is a fair criticism. Throw in the irony of you saying that people need to get over Dack when you are as vocal on the topic as anyone, and you can see why you get the flak at times.
  22. Pickering and Brittain have to play as our only full/wing backs rather than trying to squeeze Hedges in there in a game where we are unlikely to dominate the ball.
  23. "Jumped up celebrity diffy" and "freakshow circus" I would suggest isn't warranted to a player who prior to his injuries provided us with plenty of entertainment. Couple that with fabricated theories about Dack not wanting to train extra because he wants to be filming reality TV, plenty of peculiar posts on here recently about him.
