He fits the bill of Hedges style signings ie players with 6 months left on their deals. But a centre back is right down the list of priorities. -

Talented player but nothing would say owner ambition like a loanee with 3 career goals. -

We need to not allow our assets to run their contracts down and be efficient. Sadly we are run by knobheads. -

The club is not set up to compete across a full season. The emphasis is not on what we need, it is about "not blocking pathways." -

Thank god we have such a strong squad such is the lack of funding available. -

Absolutely fuming, a pathetic display and a humbling by a woeful side who haven't won in months. They had an aging centre back playing at centre back, surely you keep trying to turn him? No, back to slow, boring football that seemingly only @chaddyrovers seems to approve of. It never works, we can't do it. Do we do any work on attacking in training, totally lacking in cohesion and ideas. The Venkys way having young lads like Vale and Garrett regularly featuring because of an underfunded squad. Morton continues to knock money off his supposed big money move to Dortmund, Gallagher absolutely hopeless again and steadier players like Pickering, Kaminski, Hedges and Hyam all terrible, although the injury to the latter is salt in the wounds. Dack and Markanday the only sparks. -

What a horrible watch. Vale and Gallagher beyond poor. Dack the one bit of quality we have. -

There is nothing sustainable about letting over £10m of assets go for free within 12 months. And that is not a reflection on any individual below the owners. -

Not a clue, at no point have they been described as anything other than "personal reasons." The point was that as long as Venkys are here, even hiring very capable staff beneath (if that is how it transpires) doesn't stop the fact that Venkys are still here, and their whole reign has been littered with underachievement. -

The point was not about Potter being sacked as far I was concerned, it was about giving any manager 18 months regardless of results. -

Erm probably not no, he would be creeping into dangerous territory and needs to improve soon but not yet. My main point is that it is stupid to give a manager such a lengthy and specific period of time REGARDLESS of results/progress. You can risk acting irrationally by trying to justify an initial decision. Why did Coyle not warrant further time then, he had not much more than 19 games, why didn't he get at least a season? -

Is Carter comfortable on the ball? Quite cumbersome and clumsy. -

He isn't realistic, he has been one of the best midfielders at this level for the last couple of years. He would cost too much, he would have bigger suitors should he become available and I would question whether he would come. He missed games last season for personal reasons and Wagner mentioned the problems again in his press conference today. He has talent but he hasn't performed since an initial bright spell and seems troubled, thankfully the rumours seem to be shit. Have Venkys gone? -

Still no joined up thinking or any thought put into what is best for the here and now. Broughton seems to have only extended this with talk of targets for minutes for academy graduates and blocking pathways. The primary focus has to be the here and now, you can't dismiss what we need now in case it reduces the minutes for younger players, if they are good enough now they will stay a part of it, with loans an option if they aren't ready. It's all about value but it is all undermined anyway when our owners insist on players leaving for free. -

I hope Ayala is fit, but if not, surely Phillips starts over Carter based on last week. -

They should judge as they go and stick with/sack Potter based on results, like any sane club. -

£2m is a lot of money on someone with personal and injury issues who has done nothing in a couple of years, at a club whose owners negligence has caused them to already live closer than necessarily towards FFP. -
Forest Green are away at Bolton on the 24th. A draw would presumably move our game.

FFP mentioned again, something we have lost any flexibility with due to the overruling of the owners to allow assets to run their deals down. -

I have a very strange viewpoint where manager need to warrant more time, not just be given it unconditionally. And that isnt specific to Potter, he may turn things round. We gave Kean loads of time, similar example to Arteta. Time doesnt automatically lead to improvement. You also cant continue regardless of results to try and justify the outlay, miss out on the top 4 and they will lose far more than £20m. -

So essentially he stays for a pre determined and lengthy amount of time regardless of results. I dont get why managers still warrant time and patience regardless of results. Coyle should have been given 2 years because he had massive budget cuts to deal with, ignore how bad the results are. Surely?
