  1. Dyche is unfortunate in that he has a perhaps unfair reputation in regards to his style of play which was a case of making the best of what he had at Burnley, and also in this current climate whereby clubs would usually gravitate towards someone who has little say in off the field matters. Bournemouth would seem like a perfect job for him in being a Premier League club that has started well but will likely be very much in a scrap over the course of the season. As it is, I suspect that they will make the common mistake of giving it to the caretaker manager in O'Neil who will then struggle to maintain those standards. In normal circumstances, West Brom would be beneath his standard but with the above factored in, maybe it would be possible.
  2. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/blackburn-rovers-tactics-risk-reward-25222040 Half spaces.
  3. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/23034033.blackburn-rovers-boss-not-looking-table-just-yet/ Tomasson isn't looking at the league table, similar to the performance over league table claptrap that Mowbray came out with a couple of years ago. Performance first, results will follow, I have no idea where we are in the league etc... Proof not that Tomasson warrants similar fury that Mowbray got when he said it, but that all managers trot out the same cliches and it is probably best not to micro analyse them!
  4. The data about his work rate in training. Deary me.
  5. Waggott would never change pricing strategies based on what one individual fan says in an informal chat over a cup of tea and a few biscuits. That has been proven across his tenure, if indeed he even has final say. He clearly just trots out business talk.
  6. I think pricing is the key but the club ballsed it up again.
  7. I quite like the idea of putting Szmodics into the channel where Gallagher was yesterday and introducing Dack in behind those 2 willing runners. Not convinced by Hedges at wing back though plus Carter for Ayala is an obvious downgrade.
  8. There must be enough colleagues at your work chaddy to cover every team in the football league based on your posts on here!
  9. Even if he is more exposed than he has been in the last year or two, I don't doubt that, but his defensive ability is practically non-existent. Therefore for me, he cannot be considered an elite right back.
  10. The common denominator in all of the bullshit is Venkys.
  11. I understand that there is a big onus on full backs now to attack and he is very good at that but IMO to be an "elite right back" then you have to at least be a competent one on one defender. When it comes to body shape, positioning and concentration, he is very poor.
  12. Do we have regular requests for our players to get injured every week?
  13. Liverpool's midfield 2 controlled most of the first half, I am not sure that Alexander Arnold has ever been elite.
  14. Very comfortable win yesterday against a really poor opponent as you often find in the Championship. We looked much better with far less onus on passing it around the back, going forward much quicker and doing our passing in their half, a clear change from recent tactics and it paid off. Our huge reliance on Brereton continues, lets hope he doesn't miss any games as we need him, and I do worry when we unnecessarily lose him for free how far we will be set back with no money to replace him. A couple of new signings had by far their best game in a Rovers shirt. Morton was very good and I hope he continues in the same vein and Szmodics whilst doing little aside from his goal and assist gave us something very crucial in contributing to goals which our attackers aside from Brereton struggle to do, the cross for Brereton was particularly stand out. Hedges is a strange one, his general level of performance was very good although that role doesn't suit him and he was too deep. Elsewhere, Ayala struggled most out of the back 3 directly against Ogbene, Gallagher was anonymous, Kaminski was a by-stander, Travis was sloppy at times and Wharton also stood out, Hyam was ok too.
  15. Too early to know if the new set up is "proper" but that is beside the point that our owners allow "time and patience." History shows a mixture of managers given far too long or given barely any time at all. @Tyrone Shoelaces is bang on regarding the owners. No matter how competent Broughton and Tomasson turn out to be, with the owners overruling on decisions they will continue to have any impact limited by the negligence of the owners.
  16. It is always busier on here when the transfer window is open.
  17. Strange side again. Hedges at right wing back over a right wing back he at least oversaw the signing of. Szmodics again over Dack, presumably as a false 9? Morton over Adam Wharton?
  18. If the point is that Boro have had success from appointing first time managers, then we will ignore Robson's relegation with a very expensively assembled side, Woodgate overseeing a dramatic slide down the table and Southgate taking Boro down.
  19. Thank god we give managers "time and patience" at our well run football club. Steve Kean will testify like that, he had a job until he quit years after the protests started. And Mowbray, allowing things to go nice and stagnant before an unnecessarily sour departure. Bowyer was given too long too. And Berg and Appleton who got plenty of time and patienc...oh wait.
  20. Whilst I am not saying that a continuation of the borefests of recent weeks would cause a reduction in interest, surely a more reasonable conclusion to the above would be the closure of the transfer window?
  21. I don't think that there is any chance of him being sacked even if we decline due to our terrible owners. But every manager says the same stuff, ultimately he should have to prove that a plan is coming together as we go to continue with it.
  22. Why? Makes no sense that the only definition of backing him is giving him almost 2 years as a clean slate without judgement.
  23. The standard of the Championship is being displayed tonight in QPR v Reading. 3rd v 4th and absolutely shocking.
  24. Yet when a manager is new, those same lines are refreshing to many whereas after a while people get fed up and critically analyse every word looking for hidden meanings!
