  1. There must be enough colleagues at your work chaddy to cover every team in the football league based on your posts on here!
  2. Even if he is more exposed than he has been in the last year or two, I don't doubt that, but his defensive ability is practically non-existent. Therefore for me, he cannot be considered an elite right back.
  3. The common denominator in all of the bullshit is Venkys.
  4. I understand that there is a big onus on full backs now to attack and he is very good at that but IMO to be an "elite right back" then you have to at least be a competent one on one defender. When it comes to body shape, positioning and concentration, he is very poor.
  5. Do we have regular requests for our players to get injured every week?
  6. Liverpool's midfield 2 controlled most of the first half, I am not sure that Alexander Arnold has ever been elite.
  7. Very comfortable win yesterday against a really poor opponent as you often find in the Championship. We looked much better with far less onus on passing it around the back, going forward much quicker and doing our passing in their half, a clear change from recent tactics and it paid off. Our huge reliance on Brereton continues, lets hope he doesn't miss any games as we need him, and I do worry when we unnecessarily lose him for free how far we will be set back with no money to replace him. A couple of new signings had by far their best game in a Rovers shirt. Morton was very good and I hope he continues in the same vein and Szmodics whilst doing little aside from his goal and assist gave us something very crucial in contributing to goals which our attackers aside from Brereton struggle to do, the cross for Brereton was particularly stand out. Hedges is a strange one, his general level of performance was very good although that role doesn't suit him and he was too deep. Elsewhere, Ayala struggled most out of the back 3 directly against Ogbene, Gallagher was anonymous, Kaminski was a by-stander, Travis was sloppy at times and Wharton also stood out, Hyam was ok too.
  8. Too early to know if the new set up is "proper" but that is beside the point that our owners allow "time and patience." History shows a mixture of managers given far too long or given barely any time at all. @Tyrone Shoelaces is bang on regarding the owners. No matter how competent Broughton and Tomasson turn out to be, with the owners overruling on decisions they will continue to have any impact limited by the negligence of the owners.
  9. It is always busier on here when the transfer window is open.
  10. Strange side again. Hedges at right wing back over a right wing back he at least oversaw the signing of. Szmodics again over Dack, presumably as a false 9? Morton over Adam Wharton?
  11. If the point is that Boro have had success from appointing first time managers, then we will ignore Robson's relegation with a very expensively assembled side, Woodgate overseeing a dramatic slide down the table and Southgate taking Boro down.
  12. Thank god we give managers "time and patience" at our well run football club. Steve Kean will testify like that, he had a job until he quit years after the protests started. And Mowbray, allowing things to go nice and stagnant before an unnecessarily sour departure. Bowyer was given too long too. And Berg and Appleton who got plenty of time and patienc...oh wait.
  13. Whilst I am not saying that a continuation of the borefests of recent weeks would cause a reduction in interest, surely a more reasonable conclusion to the above would be the closure of the transfer window?
  14. I don't think that there is any chance of him being sacked even if we decline due to our terrible owners. But every manager says the same stuff, ultimately he should have to prove that a plan is coming together as we go to continue with it.
  15. Why? Makes no sense that the only definition of backing him is giving him almost 2 years as a clean slate without judgement.
  16. The standard of the Championship is being displayed tonight in QPR v Reading. 3rd v 4th and absolutely shocking.
  17. Yet when a manager is new, those same lines are refreshing to many whereas after a while people get fed up and critically analyse every word looking for hidden meanings!
  18. If that guess is true then it would be a baffling decision to see Dack miss out to a number of inferior players. My point was one of surprise that you only described the window as "decent" based on the opinions you have previously stated and repeated here. Surely based on that analysis, a more suitable description on your part would be "incredible" or "outstanding" and at least 9 out of 10. Maybe the players aren't capable of playing quick, passing football, that isnt what you grasp, instead patronising people into thinking that they "dont understand." Ayala, Travis, Gallagher, Brereton, Dolan, even Hyam, Szmodics and Hirst, are any of them technically stand out at this level? Some are very good at this level at other things but the question is, does our squad suit such a style? Patience implies that it definitely will happen in time.
  19. How can a "manager" with 2 or 3 games as a caretaker fit a mould of manager?
  20. All managers regurgitate the same spiel in press conferences, I am unsure if it is the modern day, social media driven culture but people seem to pick apart and analyse them more often than ever before. It is in a managers best interests to say whatever he can to try and request more time in employment. There is validity in saying that a "plan" wont come together so quickly but the ones that get to see their contracts through on merit should be the ones that display consistent signs of progression of that plan.
  21. No one has suggested that they expect instant success, its a myth portrayed by some to make anyone displaying any doubts/worries to be irrational. I think that the main cause of the worries is the clear attempted change to a dull, slow passing style from the back that many would argue doesn't suit the players and hasn't worked in the past.
  22. I hope that I am wrong but I can see this being another borefest. One team playing slow, ineffective football across the back line against another who will come and sit in, I will say nil nil. Also @chaddyrovers you describe the window as only "decent." You were over the moon when Brittain signed, have praised Hyam, have repeatedly put Szmodics and Hirst in your predicted teams and defended them, have echoed the comments from inside the club about the Morton signing, have repeatedly defended the decision to reject bids for Brereton, have applauded the contract renewals. Mola aside who has barely been given a mention, how on earth is the conclusion of all of that praise merely "decent?!"
  23. I was there and wasn't impressed by Morton. Would I be right in thinking that you are very happy with the signing and the choice made only to loan Morton into central midfield with your opinion exactly matching Broughton's methodology?
  24. Tomasson said amongst his usual cliches and management talk that Mola and Adam Wharton will be in the squad tomorrow, interesting to see who drops out.
