  1. Hes in self preservation to defend his incompetence. Do you not hold any annoyance towards our absent owners for not giving enough of a shit to do their job and sack him?
  2. Still think we will be fine even if we didnt pick up a point. Sheffield Wednesday need 4 wins from 7 and Wycombe need 5 wins from 6, assuming neither happens, Rotherham would need 4 wins from 10, all unlikely. Next season I suspect it will be very much a season of struggle.
  3. This sort of provocation that you do seemingly after every defeat, when we all know he is going nowhere, is totally unnecessary. You dont believe what you are saying so why would anybody else?! But the key is, and maybe this is more aimed at @J*B who specified that it is partially the supporters fault that we are in this mess, that there is absolutely nothing that any of us could have done to make a blind bit of difference. When Kean was here, I went on many a protest, in the end, he went when he wanted. I did the 1875 protest when Coyle was manager and shouted for him to go too, I dont believe that made any difference. In the last 12 months, which is probably how long ive wanted Mowbray out, maybe even longer, there is nothing we could do, emails wont do anything as much as I respect that it is an effort of some sort, these are pig ignorant tosspots running our club, and we havent been allowed in the stadiums for 12 months. There is nothing of substance that you have done, that J*B has done, or indeed that any of us have done to make a difference, or indeed, that we could have done to make a difference. The I told you so side of it, firstly, that promotion season was a number of years ago, so you cannot correlate his position now and then, there will always be a point when the end comes, take Mourinho, if someone called for him to leave as he won his first title at Chelsea, would he then have been justified when it all went sour at the end? Not at all, a lot has happened between then, and this season in particular has been one of regression, whereby it is got much worse than prior to this season. I have regularly asked for Mowbray to be sacked on here, but its a forum, I dont do so expecting or thinking that my opinion makes a difference, as much as I believe it is valid as anyone elses.
  4. Bizarre question. The reason Mowbray needs to go is because results arent good enough and indeed we are moving further from potential promotion and much closer to the threat of relegation. How would logically that mean that I want us to be in a lower league simply to get rid of him, at that point, id have lost track of the reason he needs to go in the first place, continued poor results.
  5. Question for you and @Bbrovers2288 I have said on here I want Mowbray out for a while so this is not necessarily aimed at me. How have you both "demanded change?" Especially considering stadiums have been closed for longer than a year, 2/3 months after your supposed removal point, what have you done or indeed what could we have done to force the manager out? Baring in mind that there is no evidence based on previous appointments to suggest that fan pressure is critical to the removal of managers. To me, it just appears unnecessarily provoactive nonsense at this stage.
  6. See if Bayes and co back up their criticism by asking Mowbray if he feels its the end of the road etc...
  7. Shit team again, totally random. Glad to see Armstrong back, but says a lot when I suspect 3 or 4 of that team will be here next season.
  8. I suspect that he will continue to give him the easiest of easy rides in post match interviews however.
  9. My last post on the matter. I have wanted Mowbrays out for a while, for far longer than you. I am NOT defending his recruitment. As far as I am concerned, I judge him and him only on ALL of our signings, including Kaminski, including Brereton, including Armstrong, including Gallagher, everyone. His overall recruitment has been shit, I cant stress this enough, its a big part of why I want him out You up until recently aggressively defended Mowbrays recruitment, indeed you said that Mowbray was behind the updated scouting network merely existing and had to stay to continue it, so surely you see how hilariously illogical it is that you now imply that it was already there, you pick out all of the transfers that have been poor, of which there are many, and cook up the theory that the good ones where as a result of the analysts and the recruitment team, and the poor ones were based on your totally evidence -ess theory/assumption because he defied the recruitment team and signed players in spite of them! The reason I think you have changed to such a degree is because youd like to believe that we are a normally functioning club. You know that the owners will continue their pig ignorant ways, you probably know that it is not helpful for the manager to receive no communication for so long as to the budget he will receive, but that isnt going to change. There is no evidence that we have an efficient recruitment team. But now you have finally accepted that what is happening isnt good enough, youd like to think that every single thing wrong with the club is solely based on Tony Mowbray. A mere managerial change (which I dont even expect sadly) and everything will revert to a top 6 push in your mind. To clarify, for the hundredth time, none of this relieves any of the responsibility on the manager. His recruitment of which he is responsible fully for has been rubbish. I want him to be sacked, sadly Venkys dont give a shit and are out of touch, but I want him gone, I have done so for a while, I dont know how much more clearer I can make it that Mowbray is fully responsible for his recruitment, I just also think that there are additional issues at our club.
  10. I will, yeah. In no way an endorsement of him being manager, ive wanted him out for a while. I am looking forward to the social aspect of going with my mate, I have missed going in general and I will get a discount.
  11. The thing that goes in the clubs favour on that I suppose is the discount we get. Then again, if prices continue to rise maybe even that bonus becomes outweighed.
  12. @chaddyrovers Mowbrays recruitment has been poor and ive never once defended that, there are no excuses for it. Thanks for permission to criticise the owners which I will also continue to do so considering their backward processes, their repeated lack of proactivity, the lack of communication that leaves the manager unaware of his budget until well into the close season. For you, its just one of those things that we cant do anything about, surely that applies for Mowbray too, but thats your stance and thats up to you. Joe has never claimed to know the inner workings of our recruitment, his theories and assumptions are generalised and he never once claimed to know exactly what is going on in our club. His opinion is as valid as both of ours, not factual proof that you are right. If it suits your narrative to suddenly think that Mowbray is the sole reason for the clubs continued ineffiencies then fair enough. Again, if you think that our recruitment process is so well organised and that it is merely Mowbray disobeying that has caused the poor recruitment, when a mere matter of months ago it was because he came up with the idea of a new scouting network that you wanted him to stay, its a laughable 180 degree turn on your opinion but fair enough. Please stop implying that I am in any way defending Mowbray, I want him sacked and ive wanted him sacked for far longer than you.
  13. To be fair, he deserves credit for signing Armstrong and Dack although his overall transfer record is poor. Definitely no structure to it, and possibly not a good sign that a key member of our recruitment team (not that he will be missed assuming he plays a big part in our shoddy recruitment) going to a League 1 club either. I also dont really blame him for what he says, its self preservation, I wouldnt leave voluntarily if I was him and for me it is down to the owners to sack him. Sadly, they are absent, negligent stains on our football club. Regarding coaching staff, I am not one who likes to see names appointed for the sake of their name (Terry as an individual though may well have been a big help at Villa who have done well) nor for sentimental reasons as many suggest. If Venus for example is Mowbrays chosen assistant, thats down to him.
  14. Absolutely, where is the consistency? Our budget year in year out (when our seasons tend to end competitively very early due to our constant mediocrity) is not sorted until well after the season ends, so communication between manager and owners is non existent, the manager going to India with a begging bowl weeks into the summer is hardly proactive, and always his interviews prior show he hasnt the foggiest what the budget is, so how can we plan. There is no rhyme or reason. First signing this summer was Kaminski, one from Europe that was well scouted. The second one was a Boro old boy on a long deal with seemingly no due diligence done in the medical. We sign another European goalkeeper who is nowhere to be seen. Then we do most of the business on the last day, 5 or 6 games in. An aging left back on loan to plug the gap, another Boro old boy on a long deal to sit on the bench, a talented player on loan who seemingly was very much a last minute bonus, and then yet another central midfielder unwanted by his club. And then another few weeks down the line, a player who did very well in his first season here, a Boro old boy, but who is very old yet we for some unknown reason waited so long to sign him back up, even when we already have so many midfielders and who was chronically unfit due to the delay and has rarely featured. The lists are clearly hardly watertight either. When we came up, Bauer was clearly our main target at CB. A big, tall, aerielly strong centre back. We didnt get him, so we then signed Rodwell, an injury prone midfielder who Mowbray planned to move there. Hardly similar! You also look up front, he signed Gallagher and publically admitted an interest in Joao, so he is just going for familiar faces. Dack, Gladwin and Brereton all signed based on "playing well" against his teams in the past.
  15. Fair enough. My comments were regarding my opinion that nothing in the last few years suggests that the organisation especially around recruitment is efficient, is effective, is proactive, is well planned out or is consistent. Your comments seem to be more about how football clubs in general across the board tend to work, we may have lists of targets, indeed the manager often suggests we do, but recruitment at our club has been a mess for a while.
  16. I am only talking about at Rovers, my comments are not based on what the normal way that data is used, my comments are based around what I perceived to be chaddys naivety in regards to the functioning of our club, especially on the recruitment side of things, armed with numerous years poor recruitment, including the time those deals have taken to complete. Your ability to use data I took for granted as being reputable, no reason to doubt you even prior to your qualifications, but my comments were not about data, or "how things work," they were about my low expectations in regards to the inefficiency and lack of quality, care and organisation that seemed evident in regards to our recruitment. Out of interest, which clubs and to what degree have you experienced the recruitment side of things within professional clubs?
  17. My post was not a criticism, it was just pointing out to chaddy that how you feel the club operates in your opinion does not prove or disprove my opinion, which is that I feel that it is naive and goes against everything we have seen to date to suggest that our scouting network has adequately and effectively put together detailed lists outlining targets for every position, knowing these players are achievable and ones for whom the work is already in place. Our transfer strategy is consistently haphazard, many deals done based on previous contacts, most of our business done near the end of transfer windows, therefore I have no confidence that such chaos will change anytime soon. There is also the issue surrounding the manager, I sadly expect him to remain, and he will have his own targets not agreed upon always by the data gurus, and that would be the case should we appoint someone else too. You go into dangerous ground if you sign players selected by analysts without the full agreement of the manager. Some of the stuff you mention, that we have lists for example of targets, Mowbray has publically mentioned these in the past so that is a safe assumption to make, although going back to my point, I would not expect that at this stage, considering the way our club lacks proactivity at every level, that numerous targets are ready to go as I mention in my opening paragraph. The assumption can never be made that our club is run in any way efficiency, it clearly is not, the manager has no clue on his future or indeed on his budget, and wont anytime soon with our absent owners. In regards to the last comment you make, of course. Ultimately, if you pass on an opinion based solely or even partially based on data, it is no more valid than an opinion without using the data, again as far as I am aware you have never claimed otherwise.
  18. To be fair, he did play central in the first half and was equally poor. As much as the strikers on the wing experiment is bollocks, and I had Wycombe commentary on who were baffled themselves by it, the main problem was spending 5m on him. Sums Mowbray up, poor recruitment exasperated by weird tactics.
  19. Joe may claim knowledge on data etc and how it is used, but his opinion is no more valid than anyone elses, nor is is it factual. He does not know the exact inner workings at Rovers, or indeed if we have a list of numerous targets and are well organised behind the scenes, and of course even more importantly, if our targets are any good. I have never suggested that data shouldnt or isnt used at our club at any point, im sure it is, whether it used effectively or indeed whether any players identified are any good is a different matter. Nothing that has happened in the past suggests that the recruitment side of our club is efficient, well oiled, consistent or capable of identifying good players. It seems a haphazard mis match of a bit of everything. Because he doesnt know and is talking out of his arse, again.
  20. I thought that after June 21st, if all goes to plan, social distancing rules go out of the window? May be a lack of understanding on my part or me missing something.
  21. By the time the new season comes about, wont restrictions on numbers be a thing of the past?
  22. I will, I have missed it, partly the social aspect with my mate, I will get a discount due to having bought one this year, and ultimately I have never been able to stop attending or dilute my interest, even this season I have watched every game, and in times under Coyle and Kean. That is in no way a representation on my opinion on Mowbray which is very much that I want him out as I have done so for a while.
