  1. The intention was to do a full revamp including the pipes for the first time in 30 years. As per the fans forum, Venkys didnt release funding!
  2. If the cutbacks regarding the potential pitch revamp are not contributing to the condition of the pitch, then why was it requested and planned in the first place?
  3. Yep, he did and was told that only 2 bits were weaved rather than the intended full relay with pipes etc replaced. Since he initially implied that the promised work was done, now he is going out of his way to imply that Blackburn has its own microclimate to defend the state compared to the other teams who also have had cold weather.
  4. I dont think we need to change the whole team, no. If anyone is carrying a knock, then of course. I want us to go through and if we play too weak a team with Hirst up top and Edun, our chances decrease. My team had numerous changes but not the whole team.
  5. Im guessing that their training pitches have been unaffected and only we needed to use our ground instead.
  6. VAR on point throughout, used perfectly.
  7. I would be amazed if no other teams trained on their pitches during the big freeze, and I dont think that doing so a couple of times is the main reason for the pitch being so bad. It needed relaying after 30 years and Venkys decided to change their mind and put their money away. Now we see the consequences.
  8. I am certainly not Mortons biggest fan but he isnt a League 1 player in waiting.
  9. On specific days. If you think that Blackburn has had considerably worse weather than any other place in England over the last month then you really are deluding yourself.
  10. By all means rest anyone with knocks or increased risk of injuries. Its just once you start changing the whole team and bringing in dollopers like Hirst and Edun you become uncompetitive.
  11. No I don't think so, unused sub today, didn't come on v us and they seem to prefer an Idah, Pukki and Sargent front 3.
  12. Norwich will have had bad weather conditions too as part of the big freeze that hit the whole country. As will the majority of other pitches that all look better than ours. Your desperation to defend the state of a massively underfunded pitch is bizarre. I agree with your point about him thinking everyone is shit when they leave, but what is meant by that?
  13. I can't see Norwich helping us out with Cantwell.
  14. Believe it or not, I don't like our pitch being like a cabbage patch and I doubt Tomasson does either.
  15. He clearly wasnt on the pulse as he specifically said we want him and within 24 hours he is going elsewhere. He will get some right when he links players to loads of clubs at once but some hang on his every word.
  16. Such a strange one, Wigan have such a poor team that they were always going to struggle, Nyambe is never a Premier League player but he is a steady Championship right back. We could do with him now as an alternative. Brittain for all the talk of his attacking side has not yet assisted a goal.
  17. I suppose that people within would say that, they would be foolish to say he is shit! I don't think some that stuff is out of the ordinary, Mowbray had a group of senior players that he delegated to and went to a fair few under 21 games, obviously no way of knowing some of the other things. Wonder what Tomasson thinks about the pitch which has been under funded? Ultimately to an extent, as you touch on he will be judged on signings (mixed so far) and results mainly which we can't argue much with at all.
  18. Norwich's pitch looks good, a carpet compared to ours. Norwich must have its own micro climate.
  19. More Nixon inspired bullshit rumours. Next.
  20. I suppose there is only 3 games, potentially 2 (league) if we win on Sunday, but would like him back ASAP, agreed. Lets hope he stays fit then too.
  21. There is definitely scope for arguing how good Gallagher is, but not IMO that he is below Championship standard. Hirst and Vale haven't scored a league goal for us between them, so that is different, neither is IMO near the level. He scores a reasonable amount every year, never prolific, but he definitely provides enough to justifiably be considered a reasonable Championship player to some degree. I do like the look of Markanday from glimpses we have seen mainly in cups and would like to see more but they aren't comparable at this stage.
  22. I would if fit for sure. Assumed he would miss out. Buckley is banned. We won't win the league either, a win could help momentum, we have a free week either side, potentially a couple of games surely won't derail the season otherwise and it could add some excitement with a decent draw.
  23. I would be amazed if we brought 4 or 5 in personally. The question with full backs is how many do we get, especially as they are likely to be loans and will teams send them out to be subs? At right back, we have Brittain who is injured, unsure for how long still? Rankin Costello has been excellent lately but is he good or reliable enough for an extended period, and how bad is his injury? Carter is also back and is decent cover for right back. At left back, we are totally reliant on Pickering as the other 2 are shocking.
  24. I guess its a difficult one with this structure in regards to judging on transfers and who takes responsibility. Tomasson has insisted before that he does have final say and when signings were made they were always "our" targets implying a level of agreement. Of course they would say that regardless but essentially you could view it as Tomasson is actually getting help/manpower in helping him to get the players he wants, just as much as him not actively choosing. Regarding this window, I struggle to envisage anything other than a juggling of loans like last January. Our budgets are further limited by the inability to trade caused by the repeated allowances by the owners of contracts to expire. I dont recall many if any January splurges by them either. A bit of squad padding wont do the trick though.
  25. He is a good appointment, agreed. To go from appointing a big name former player (I know he won the league at Rangers but his overall record there was ok, only one trophy) to a proven winner at European level is a big change but a good one. Yeah I think top 4 is a struggle, their squad isn't good enough. The front 3 is but beyond that, their keeper is dodgy, they have one good centre back in Romero and a lot of other poor ones, their wing backs are below par aside from Perisic who is not technically a wing back and is getting on, and their midfield is ok, nothing more.
