If Wharton does go it feels like we won’t have time to really spend any of it either way. hopefully if it happens he stays on loan till summer. I don’t have much faith that anyone at rovers has deals lined up ready to go for players that cost money. More likely they spent all January lining up potential cheap loans if we got a few quid in.

Every time they do these statements it just raises more questions than gives answers. We were told the funding covered the period up to December last time out. So presumably we can’t pay January or February bills until this court case in March? Yet they seem to make out like they have the money?!?

Hopefully we get news that the India court money has been approved as that at least gives some slim hope of reinvestment. If its been denied then its nothing other than a way to keep us out of admin and I imagine our negotiating position becomes a lot weaker.

I vaguely remember from the summer that at Preston 1 Adult season ticket entitled them to 2-3 free child/junior tickets so not sure how much that number is inflated and how often the free ones actually attend. Either way its securing future fans of the club so would be all for something similar at rovers.

I think the club are looking at the lowest season ticket sales in a long time this summer. Most around me and the few lads I go on with have been talking about just walking on next season to games we want to see rather than commiting to a season ticket. A combination of price and the poor performance on the pitch this season. Most of us are also irritated by the club rowing back on the ambitions over summer and waggots interview post us all buying our season tickets. £400 to watch what is fast becoming a football academy side is far too much. I've been here before though and if there was to be a big reduction in price plus a home winning streak for the rest of the season (however unlikley) I would probably change my tune.

If they have 7k tickets it will be pretty close as to who has the bigger crowd on the night. Ewood was low on Saturday in terms of actual people and with this being on a Monday night combined with our home form I doubt many will go. Me included.

I think we will go down if they don’t change the manager. He’s out his depth at this level and other managers have us completely worked out. His defensive approach to football is a joke and our record this season is an embarrassment. All of our defensive players have gone backwards in their development under his management. I am utterly bored of watching us. I have never understood the hype around his style and 95% of the time it’s akin to watching a training match. If Szmodic hadn’t worked miracles this season we would probably be bottom 3 already. Ewood has become so quiet on match days I reckon I could have slept through the second half yesterday.

Terrible performance and result, should have lost if they hadn’t fluffed 2 one on ones. I don’t think I have ever been as bored at Ewood in the last 30 years as I have under JDT. The ground is like a morgue and it feels like the club is dying slowly.

If I could target any position for a signing it would probably be right wing/forward. Someone with blistering pace and some tricks. It’s like playing with 10 men with Moran and Markandy out there.

Must win today, lose this and I think rovers and JDT won’t recover from it. Good to see players coming back and it gives me hope of a turn in fortunes. I’d throw the lot back in from the start. Gally, Pears and JRC lineup and if they tire after an hour then can come off. I really hope JDT has been working on the defence this week. Huddersfield worked us out perfectly away and if we play the same will lose.

The Preston situation is a good example he cant hide from, season ticket prices went down and crowds and revenues went up. Case study shows it works and its down the road with similar size/demographics.

In fairness to Ennis he has only started 3 league games all season, the other 6-7 appearances are 15-20 min runouts in a handful of games we were mainly losing. He hasnt shown anything to get us thinking he will be a world beater but I would defo be keeping him in the squad given the fact he is the only other striker with any experience alongside Gallagher.

The home form has been dreadful all season with 7 losses by Xmas. We have also conceded an incredible 23 goals at Ewood already in 13 matches. Unless the manager changes our approach I see another loss on the cards. He is stubborn and won’t. I think it’s become more about him making a statement than the team now. Huddersfield worked us out completely at their place the other week. Give us the ball till we over commit then bang us on the break. 1-3 Huddersfield.

Huddersfield spanked us 3-0 a few weeks ago so it’s not going to be a picnic on Saturday. If we just carry on with the same tactics and approach what’s going to change?

He said on radio lancs after the Rotherham game “We know we have to take a 2 goal lead to win games” or something to that effect. The commentators were staggered at the admission particularly Kevin Gallacher. He won’t change I don’t think.

Prior to that run we lost 5 out of 6 league games starting from September. But JDT doesn’t mention that in his interviews so it doesn’t get parroted back on here.

if we can’t afford to pay the heating bills then I doubt we can afford to sack him. If we did it would probably mean selling Gallagher just to pay him off. The home form has been shocking all season and over Xmas the away form has gone the same way. I honestly feel like it’s a relegation season. Too many drawn in by JdT’s media skills and ignorant of his failure to get the best out of the players we have.

Based on our current performances how many players do you think he needs to turn it around and in what positions?

Relegation here we come. The most worrying thing about this bad run is nobody at the club seems to really care or acknowledge how bad things are. The manager never takes any responsibility and am sure post match he will blame recruitment rather than his suicidal tactics. The players seem to still think we are playoff candidates. The directors seem more keen to loan or sell players than results on the pitch. The owners seem more bothered about court cases than the club. Where does that leave us fans? None of the above give two hoots about us other than that we all blindly clap along accepting it all.

I would bet that if Gallagher goes it’s purely for financial reasons. In the summer they likely anticipate another 20% budget cut or some nonsense and therefore won’t do his 12 month extension given his high earner status. So they sell him now and get some money rather than nothing. it won’t be reinvested and just offset against the bills, meanwhile his wage is freed up for yet another schoolboy loan for 6 months. eventually there will be nothing left to sell or cut.

Back in the day Jason Roberts did a video for BBC football skills on how to convert a one-on-one. I couldnt think of anyone worse for missing them 🤣
