  1. Just to clarify I don't dislike Tomasson, I didn't enjoy the performances under him and think he has left in us in a mess. But he did bring a lot of positive things to the club and shone a light on the shambles behind the scene. My perspective on it is that some fans are obtusely ignoring facts due to their fondness for Tomasson. Using the "7th place on the 1st December" to make out like all was rosy prior to this point when we were in reality a few losses from the bottom end. It wasn't all rosy and have pointed out facts like losing 5 of 6 league games from September, 7 home defeats by Xmas (a record even Owen Coyle didn't match) to show that we have been poor all season. Either way he's gone now, some will look back on him as hard done by and others as someone who was out of his depth in this league.
  2. On the 1st December the difference between 7th place and 19th was 9 points. It’s the championship. Performances have been poor all season in my opinion even when we won (bar the odd game like Norwich away). I am not surprised where we have ended up and just hope it’s not too late for Eustace to turn it around.
  3. Or it’s been a poor season with a short period of positive results in November.
  4. We lost 5 out of 6 league games starting in September. Is this a slump?
  5. I had planned to attend this being fairly local but after the results of recent months can’t face seeing a local rival demolish us yet again. Predict we take a heavy beating here, with the rough housing approach PNE take our soft lads will fold in no time.
  6. We had lost 7 home games already by Xmas eve, sick of hearing about this December slump.
  7. Didn’t see the match but sounds like a horror show, is that 6 away losses in a row? Way too early to be judging the manager who probably has had 1 days training with the lads. Saying things like we will never score again after we tonked in 3 against stoke is a bit extreme. Fear for the softies on Saturday, PNE bullied us off the park at Ewood earlier this season and are known for their shit housery. Could be a big defeat
  8. I genuinely think the club wants to shut the riverside. Its reaching such a state of disrepair people will either leave out of choice or it will be forced to close.
  9. I am pleased to announce that the 2020 Cheltenham Festival advertisement was finally taken down from the gents toilets this last few weeks. Well done Steve, good to see you working hard to bring in that commercial revenue.
  10. I think the players had (either consciously or not) downed tools for the QPR game. Lets hope we get more like the Stoke game going forward as you say
  11. Says it all without actually saying it. Play to the teams strengths rather than their weaknesses. Glad the players thought the same as most fans as it was infuriating seeing them turn down crossing opportunities or not sending it down the channels when it was obviously the right thing to do. I enjoyed that first half against Stoke more than anything else I had seen at Ewood this season, the myth that it was only an issue from December is just that.
  12. He was around or top of the championship tackles/interceptions for the last two seasons running. Exactly what we have missed this season due to the way the team was setup. I have no doubt Eustace would find a place for him now the suicide football is gone.
  13. Effort, presence, experience , represents the club well, vocal on the pitch and in the dressing room. It’s probably the latter why JDT got shut as imagine he pointed the same things out most us fans have done for months. Ability wise he is no Adam Wharton but for every one of them you need a Travis or Tronstad harassing and tackling.
  14. Yeah starting to think he fancies letting it run down and see how much he can make as a freebie.
  15. I’d take him back in a heartbeat and it was a ridiculous decision to let him leave on loan. Imagine he will be back in next season as captain.
  16. Forgot what it feels like to win at home. It feels good!!! Today showed exactly why JdT needed to go, they throw most of his ideas in the bin and we could have been 5-6 by half time. They dug in the second half and made some fantastic clearances. Good to see Eustace take charge when it started to go stokes way as well making subs and urging them on. ”How shit must you be, we’re winning at home” 😂
  17. Feeling more hopeful on the pitch now JDT has gone and hope there is a bit more pragmatism in our play. Early days though so might take a few weeks to see a change but some more directness in our play would be welcome. Also getting another defensive midfielder in is a quick change that will make us more solid. if we go behind it could turn nasty on the Venkys/Waggot front as it was bubbling up last week before we pulled it back to 1-2. Hope they get pelters either way after the last few weeks. please don’t play Moran 🙏
  18. Did you expect us to stay up if JDT stayed in charge?
  19. There was no point travelling to home games under JDT. Defo take Sam for the rest of the season if its doable he is exactly what's needed to get us out this mess.
  20. No I wasn’t considering Eustace with regards to JdT performance. I was just responding generally to those that think JDT has just had a bad run and been unlucky. I think it’s more fundamental than that. i agree with you on Eustace he is an unknown quantity and will be done over by the club in summer. To be honest at this point I just want to stay in the league so anyone who focuses more on defence than attack gets my vote. Probably go for Alex Neill if I had a say.
  21. Did you even read the first paragraph? I’m talking about this season and pointed to facts as to why I am judging his tactics as not working this season not just from December.
  22. Disagree, his tactics haven’t been working all season not just since December. We had lost 8 home games prior to Xmas day. We lost 5 of 6 league games starting from September. We have conceded the most goals in the league. Most the league were likely a few points off the playoffs in December it’s the championship. The warning signs have been there all season if you take the blinkers off.
  23. Agree but he knew he wasn’t getting them in the summer. He’s trying to manage the situation now by saying “I offered but they said no” to deflect the crap job he’s done. It’s like saying I told you we would go down if you stuck with me.
  24. The guy was taking us into league one, he knew the score last summer and should have walked. instead he’s persisted with his brand with a group of players not suited to it. Plenty can and will achieve better with what we have got.
