We are going down (the pessimism thread)
roverblue replied to simongarnerisgod's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I tried to look at the table and work out if we can be mathematically safe if we dont lose to Sheff Wed but went cross eyed. I think its better to see how Saturday plays out then discuss prior to our sunday kick off 😆 -
The Summer Transfer Window (Press Submit)

For the love of god please buy a couple of fast tricky wingers and a couple of strikers it would turn us into an actual decent team. If the club buy or loan any more ‘no 10’s we deserve to go down next season. -

Unbelievable, glad I didn’t watch as guarantee we lose if I did. Fair play they needed to show up after midweek. Gives us a chance of staying up. -

That for me sums up why we deserve to be relegated, I think we draw or lose all of our remaining games. -

I’m not watching as still seething from last night. If Hyam plays it could be a cricket score and he should be dropped for Carter for the rest of the season. -

I think both will see us relegated. JDT couldn't defend and JE can't attack. The club need a rethink in the summer on the manager front whatever the league we end up in. -

Feels nailed on after last night, the goal difference was a big thing in our favour but after last night and presumably another drubbing at Leeds it will count for nowt. Us and Birmingham to drop. -

Still fuming this morning, I still can't see an apology from the manager or players in the post match interviews. At any functioning club there would be repercussions from a performance and result like that. Here it will just be ignored as a bad night. -
John Eustace - our head coach
roverblue replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
If the owners had any real interest in the club they would be considering sacking him tonight. It’s been an abysmal return of points and that’s a performance that showed no effort or affection for the club. It’s a result you can’t just gloss over, ears should be ringing in the dressing room and a new captain in place for Saturday. -

I’d sack him for this -

I’d fine Hyam a months wages, shameful. what an abysmal performance it’s been truly terrible -

Massive difference in effort from Saturday. Nobody making runs in behind or showing for the ball. Just shirking any responsibility and hiding behind Bristol players to avoid getting involved with a pass. Pathetic performance I hate watching when we play like this. -

Just seen the first half highlights they could have had 4 with our defensive cock ups. Thought we had seen the back of this defending under Eustace. I would bring Hyam off for Carter at half time before it gets any worse having one of those nights. -
Complete disgrace in a rovers shirt, maybe he was on it whilst here which would explain a lot.

Need at least a point from this after last nights results. Bristol have 3 wins in their last 5 so will be a tough game but we have looked solid at the back recently so going for a 0-0. -

Combination of it being the quietest plus it’s well behind the standards of the other stands. It also used to be the cheap and cheerful option prior to covid. -

ha ha not often you see some professional slang being thrown about. Would love to know what he is specifically referring to? Is this guy involved in botched transfers of recent windows? -

Any goodwill from existing paying fans has been burnt by Waggot and Venkys so they will lose rather than gain fans in summer I think. Maybe if they invest in some good players and we get off to a good start there is a flurry of ST sales late in the summer. £250 in the riverside and free tickets for u15s with a paying ST holder (like PNE do) would be a good start. Gets the younger crowd in and converts them to paying fans later in life. Given the shambles on and off the pitch though I'm not sure even that would get more through the door, especially if we flog Sammy early doors. -
He has looked inconsistent but is one of the few players we have who want to play it forward. I wish he didn’t dwell on the ball so much especially in risky situations. As Matty said probably too much of a risk whilst in a relegation fight. Ayari is probably ahead of him in centre mid as well if Tronstad/JRC drops out.

Rovers Rumours & Speculation
roverblue replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The Wharton and Raya money is already gone to cover the Venky financial failings in my opinion. if we do sell Sammy in the summer hopefully at least some of that would be reinvested. It wouldn’t surprise me if we are looking at frees and loans again though now Venkys have a taste for keeping their money in their pocket. -
v Southampton (h) - 6/4/24

Good performance and disappointed we couldn’t sneak a win. Didn’t really create much of note though so a draw is a fair result. Markanday impressed today, properly got stuck in and deserves a chance if hedges is out for a bit. -

I’m still not convinced, the teams below and around us have all picked up points over the last 10 games and will continue to do so. Think we need another two wins at this point but maybe less as the games tick down. A positive under Eustace is we haven’t been thumped by anyone and rarely lost so might pick up enough just from draws.
