  1. I don't think its conspiratorial to suggest a club whose owners haven't sent a penny to the club for 8 months (that loses £20m per year) might need to sell players in order to pay bills. Its a fact. The timing is more likely down to external factors rather than Rovers wishes.
  2. I wouldn’t be surprised if they needed the Whalstedt cash to pay some bills hence the quick sale. Expect more to come
  3. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24424188.blackburn-address-two-year-problem-transfer-market/ Music to my ears, found the last few years at Ewood some of the most boring in my 25 years of going. The obsession with 'no 10s' has led to dull walking football with 6 yard one touch passes into the corner and all the way back out to the centre backs again. Getting some power, pace and directness in the wide areas would be fantastic and might give our strikers a chance to score some goals.
  4. We are going to struggle to put a team out come Derby if the trend continues. Let me guess we have this ace in the u23 and we don’t want to block his route to the first team. Glad to see the back to him but we need to bring some players in before we flog anymore.
  5. A Director of Football that has never signed a footballer. Not suprised he doesnt want to have questions asked as he wont have the first clue what he is supposed to do.
  6. The fact they havent sent a penny over since the last court approved chunk late last year tells you all you need to know.
  7. I was thinking they have probably got a couple of million from our season ticket sales so that keeps us afloat for a bit longer till the court case. It must be close though as Venkys send us £20m each year and we have gone through 6 months with no funding. £10m shortfall and only Wharton money to cover it so far with whatever Palace paid to date. if you think we are going on a shopping spree until this court case is heard then you’re in fantasy land.
  8. I feel for any striker at rovers under JDT and then Eustace last season. We barely created anything for them and they were left isolated constantly. You cant score from the halfway line you need crosses, through balls and cut backs into the box. Something which we just didnt do and needs to be addressed by signing two proper wingers this summer. Maybe Telalovic comes good next season if we do, the next Brereton!
  9. Is there any reason Venkys can’t just sponsor the shirt and give us £10m to avoid the FFP stuff? Other than the obvious reason that they are unfit owners.
  10. Really glad to see the back of the vaping sponsor and that stupid logo on the shirt. Sounds like the club have actually done something positive for once from a commercial perspective.
  11. Coventry showing us how it should be done, a few good money signings in already this summer along with the reinvestment last summer after they sold Gyokeres and Hamer. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c511leq9q4no Meanwhile we rake in millions and brought in Telalovic, Fleck and McFazadean.
  12. We are probably close to failing to pay wages/hmrc given how long it’s been since Venkys sent us any cash. Unless Raya/Wharton money lands soon. That local businessman they borrowed off last time must be rubbing his hands together.
  13. Renewed but feel like I'm condoning the shit show off the pitch, at the end of the day its too big a part of my social life to miss. We seriously need to invest in the squad for this to be equal or better than the 6 home wins last season.
  14. That was as boring as watching rovers last season, looked clueless and lethargic all over the pitch. At least we have the excuse of having plodders in most positions what’s Southgate’s excuse?
  15. It says the early bid window closes on Saturday but does anyone know if that means as of Friday 23:59 or Saturday 23:59? Its inevitable I will get one but want to leave it as late as possible as my only avenue of showing my disgust at the owners/leadership.
  16. "I think communication is key, they have to know what's going on to a certain extent obviously. If you want them to feel part of the club then you need to make them feel like they know what's happening in the club. "I'm pleased we're doing this already. Steve Waggott is doing his best to ensure the fans know what's happening in the club. "I think Steve is working to make sure we are improved on everything and we're all aligned in the same direction." Rudy Waggot. Christ what a complete load of shite, years of managed decline along with zero communication about what the plan is. But well done Steve, you're doing your best...
  17. Complete joke of an appointment even for these clowns its low. Followed by a chief of recruitment who they are lauding for bringing in Markandy and Hedges. Great start to the summer business.
  18. Dom Hyam probably made more mistakes in one game against Bristol than Pears did all season yet it barely gets a mention. Mistakes happen, I'm more concerned with our complete lack of ability to create or score chances without Wharton & Sammy (also possibly minus Dolan and Gallagher if they are sold due to the contract situation).
  19. Changing Pears wont be the difference in going up or down, you can get by with an average GK which is what he is (see chart above). Thats why I dont care its nothing about excitement. I do care about the lack of creativity, pace and goal scoring left in our squad. With whatever pittance Venkys allow us to spend this should be the priority above anything else and we are in for a miserable season if its not addressed.
  20. I dont really care about goalkeepers, Pears should be replaced if we can but Id rather put every penny into forwards and wingers. When Sammy leaves we are going to be lucky to score 10-20 goals over the entire season with the personnel we have available.
  21. Totally agree, even though last season was complete shite on and off the field I still want to go as its part of my social life and something I have done for the last 30 years. But there comes a point where you feel like enough is enough and this court case/endless sales/staff exits/lack of investement is the final straw for me. I feel like the club is taking complete advantage of our fans currently with the lies they are coming out with. If someone in the club be it Waggot or Venkys came out and actually explained what is going on and what the future looks like in terms of a plan/investment etc. I would probably buy one. The radio silence just makes me feel I am right that next year involves selling our best players over the summer and seeing a team of u23, loans and free transfer lads getting beat every week. That is unacceptable and a level of ambition that should never be seen at Blackburn Rovers.
  22. All I see so far this summer is people leaving and not being replaced. Its cost cutting IMO and nothing to do with a new plan/vision.
  23. It was a panic sale. The form he has showed since just makes it even harder to stomach and highlights how Waggot got his pants pulled down with the fee. Lets hope someone in Venkyland is taking note of it and sacks him.
  24. He's in charge of the money, so to me it feels like him. He could choose to charge less, he could choose to improve the ground, he could choose to spend some money on quality players, he could choose to run the club properly. But instead he chooses to praise the owners who are billionaires whilst systematically downgrading the club in every aspect. Meanwhile using the money we give him for season tickets to pay for £20m of unexplained losses every season whilst the costs are reduced 20% every summer for the last god knows how many years.
  25. Exactly this. Selling us a season ticket last year on the back of a big promotion push and finally some ambition from the manager/dof. Then Waggot comes out a few weeks after the ticket window closed saying we just need to avoid relegation and have no money. It just feels like they are taking the piss out of us and can see Waggot telling the story over a pint laughing with his CEO mates. Giving this clown money genuinely pains me.
