January Transfer window

Have I read it correctly that we signed a player permanently on a contract till the end of the season? Wtf? Are they that unconvinced by him or are we just so close to going bust? -

Be delighted if he does but get the feeling it isn’t someone Eustace wanted so will be a bench player till he proves otherwise. -

So far we don’t seem to have signed a single player for the first 11. Lack of rumours would suggest we aren’t going to either. -

Surely any foreign signings are now off the table, how would they get to Blackburn in time for any sort of medical or paperwork? -

Still buzzing today, been nice to have one over friends and family feels an age since we last beat them. They are proper bitter though and convinced they were robbed of a result. -

Really like to win this as many family/friends all support north end. Feels like our bad luck and form will continue though as we are down to the bare bones. Heart says 1-0 rovers but head 0-2 PNE. They will just bully the shit out of us I feel, proper nasty side. -

Criminal the club didn’t reinvest £10m at least of all the sales in the summer window. We are being run like we are in administration rather than a functioning football club. -

None of these sound like what Eustace described as “2 or 3 quality championship players” -

I am sure Gestede will be next out the door, another patsy for Waggot/Venkys to pin the recruitment disaster on like Broughton last year. The warning signs were there when Park left a few months back, clearly told there is nothing to spend after a bargain bin summer so why bother running a scouting department. If we did have targets they would have been secured much earlier in the window. It is more likely we are waiting to hear from bargain basements at the last minute when agents start getting in touch offering players a club no longer wants or needs. Shambles, the day Venkys and Waggot leave can't come soon enough. -

Is it any wonder a DoF with no experience or qualifications for the job has failed to deliver? I honestly don’t know what the club is thinking as it’s always the opposite of what should actually be done. They may as well have put Richie Smallwood in charge he has the same fucking credentials. -

Didn’t follow today and expected a more convincing beating if I’m honest. Squad needs help and fast -

Noticed that at Ewood we win loads of corners and the opposition defenders win almost every one. Frustrating -

Steve Waggot is like a caricature of a used car salesman. Can’t stand the guy and makes my skin crawl when I read his nonsense or see him speak. Doesn’t give a single shit about rovers. -
It's still possible...with the injuries mounting and the lack of any quality signings it could be a bumpy ride to the end of the season. 5 points from the last 24 is it?

His recent performances have been much improved, MoM last night easily. Looks to have some confidence back and aside from his aerial dominance he was very good with his feet and hold up play last night. If not for some great goalkeeping would have had a few goals. If we were to sign direct quick wingers that put crosses in we would start to get a lot more out of him.

A deluge of fan emails to the club might add a bit more pressure on them? Im sure someone on here had Waggots email address -
He was abysmal tonight and his attempt at tracking back at the start of the move for their 2nd goal embarrassing. I hope his team mates dig him out afterwards as for me the lack of effort shown there is unacceptable.

Shite result and the squad is a shambles, even more so if these 3-4 more injuries are serious. Shout out to Gueye who was the only player who put the effort in and looked quality, won everything in the air and some great runs and touches. If only the clowns around him gave him some actual service. If I was Eustace I’d be putting the feelers out for a new job, he has had no support at all from the club. -

Iv reached the point of desperation where I would largely take any attacking signings at this point just to freshen things up. I can't face another half season of Dolan and Hedges on the wings! -
He's been poor for an extended period now which at a normal club would see him dropped. We literally have nobody else to replace him with though so he just keeps playing. Even when he has been poor some of his passing has led to goals like against Portsmouth though so you have to bear that in mind. I think all the attacking players just look devoid of any form or confidence at the moment, needs a major refresh which a lot of us have been saying for years.

Squad looking really thin now and can’t see anyone coming in before this one. Will go for a 1-1 and a turgid Tuesday night game where I wished I had stayed home. -

Be a tough game, they were a big tough direct side in our game at Ewood earlier in the season. They did however look shaky at the back so would try to attack rather than do our usual soak up the pressure away from home approach and go for a more attacking team. Oxford 0-1 Rovers -
Think you are being too quick to judge his ability to be a starter personally, he has shown more than enough to be starting over players like Hedges.

John Eustace - our head coach
roverblue replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Eustace is doing a fantastic job and I firmly believe anyone else in charge would likely be floating about the relegation spots based on our squad quality. In matches like last night you can see how poor the squad quality is in attack but the team spirit and organisation is getting us through matches. I think realistically we will fall away from the playoffs as its asking a lot to operate at 120% for a full season but enjoying the ride at the mo! If he was to leave for WBA we would be in massive trouble.
