Yeah I get the argument for that. For me the positions he occupies on the pitch makes me consider him more of the attacking forward 4 than in midfield.

Wharton can’t play the Tronstad role, his tackling, stamina and defensive positioning is nowhere near good enough. When he tried it earlier this season we got murdered even more than we do lately. Travis has all the right attributes but is poor at taking on the ball under pressure. If we played 3 in midfield then Tronstad or Wharton could do this bit and we overall massively improve the defensive side of our game. This should be the change we make to stop the rot this season. But JdT has shown no willingness to adapt and it instead looks like we will sell one of our best midfielders. we will regret it

Won’t be attending, not because of the digital fiasco but just because it’s been so poor at Ewood for so long. If it wasn’t for my season ticket would prob take a break from it for a few months. As a knock on effect we will probably play out of our skin and win 10-0 now 😂

Not sure if it’s possible but the only other option I could see is to take a loan out on the back of the Raya money coming in July. Or agree to defer payments with clubs till then. In all likelihood it just means we won’t be signing anyone of any value in this window. Just be wages only type deals.

I always got the impression Ben wanted the Spanish lifestyle and even if he wasn't getting regular game time would ride it out rather than come back home. The links to the Spanish club were around for years till he finally moved so he obviously fancied it out there. Only been six months or so, no time at all for him to find his feet.

I think Waggot said the last lot ran till the end of December so we are already in the brown stuff. Anyone going out the door won't be replaced and the cash just offset against the running costs. On that basis I would be dead set against selling players or ending loans as we will just end up in an even worse position. One injury to Tronstad and we are crying out for Travis (we already are in my opinion and would go to 3 in midfield with Travis back in).

Waggot saying that pre-season post renewal it left a real sour taste in the mouth. Then after his candid interview with Glenn I am just left with the feeling that the club is rudderless and us paying fans are of no importance. it now also looks rudderless on the pitch which just leaves you thinking exactly as you say “what is the point?” Why pay £400 of our hard earned cash? I don’t intend to renew again come summer and would wager there will be plenty others.

Another dour result and performance but at least we didn’t lose. There was only one team going to win that match if it carried on and it wasn’t rovers. I’d settle for some draws and clean sheets as a start. Even as bad as it’s been at home I haven’t heard any mutterings about the manager as yet around me. Just general malaise about the state of the club and whether people can be bothered to renew next season. We can’t rely on an increasingly downwards away form to keep our heads above water. It’s got to improve starting tomorrow.

Decent until a month ago? We have lost 7 of 12 games at home conceding 21 goals in the process. Only one team has conceded more than us at home in the entire league. The home form which is what the majority of fans see has been terrible all season.

I really don’t want to go to this one but will. Heart says a win but the head says another defeat. I just hope JDT tweaks his approach to ensure we at least try for a clean sheet and don’t leave gaping holes for Rotherham to charge into.

A 3 man midfield of Travis, Tronstad and Wharton would be really strong as well as allowing the former 2 to harden up our defence and let Wharton roam about with his killer balls. But that would involved him changing his suicide system so instead we will flog Travis and further weaken an already poor squad.

I only ever hear this sort of stuff when we have been beaten, which this season is a lot.

First time I have seen him play last night and thought he did well. Done more than Ennis and Leonard recently so would stick with him for Rotherham.

Lose to Rotherham on Monday and big questions to be asked of JdT. We can’t continually go out trying to out score the opposition, the system has to change to tighten things up at the back.
