  1. Didn’t really know where else to put this but sums up the commercial ambition and the general state of the riverside. This was taken today in the gents look at the date on the poster….
  2. Great to get the three points but my god that was another tough watch. As bad as the Wigan game for me but we just managed to snatch a goal this time. Swansea looked like a better version of how JDT wants us to play and deserved at least a point. Carter and Dolan both decent today, the rest anonymous. If we can beat Blackpool on Tuesday been a great return in the last few games.
  3. I was expecting a loss but after the Watford performance have some hope for a draw or a sneaky win even. Deluded I know 🙂 Would like to see Brereton and Morton dropped for Gally and Buckley/Wharton. Trickier to put Britain and Hyam straight back in after the weekend performance of Carter and Costello though.
  4. Fair play to anyone making this trip, got a drubbing written all over it!
  5. It’s been the same performance all season, dire. The luck has just ran out in front of goal. It’s a dreadful style of football to watch and I feel has show no improvement since day 1. If this style is the future surely there would be some signs of hope by now? Does he really need 11 new players to make it work as almost nobody looks comfortable and is excelling under his management.
  6. fair play to Greg at least someone has finally fronted up about the whole sorry mess. reading between the lines its been an indivdual f* up on both transfers that have meant its not gone through i.e. some administrative process. nevertheless its cost us big time and shows up the tinpot nature of how the club is ran currently.
  7. consider it lost! I was already thinking about not renewing as I have not enjoyed the football at ewood this season and feel like the Riverside is a total shambles of a facility. Spending most of the first or second half to get a pie or pint as they have one poor 14 year old behind the till with a queue looping around the stand is bad enough. To be then followed by a bathroom break where you cant dry your hands as the ones on the wall are cold and 30 years old with no power. The stand itself is crumbling and a constant drip on my head from a leaky roof just puts the icing on the cake. All for 400 of your british pounds (£100 more than it was 2-3 season ago) whilst upwards of £20m of talent leave the club on free transfers. I've got to the point where I would rather just be at home listening on the radio or catching the odd game on TV until there is some fundamental change at the club.
  8. Whether these transfers have gone through or not the whole window has been the usual shambles. Scratching around for essential players with hours to go before the window is rank bad administration, regardless of some falling through due to issues out of our hands. It was the same over the summer. Other similar budgeted local clubs like Preston went out early in Jan, secured targets and now have them up to speed and playing. I stupidly had high hopes for organisation this window due to all the noise about recruitment team investment etc. but its been as bad and unimaginative as ever.
  9. I think generally we don’t hence why we are near the bottom of most stats in the league around the expected goals, crosses, through balls etc. It’s a symptom of not having the right players for the system JDT plays though in midfield and attack. If we had some power, pace and skill to break forward I am sure we could turn it around.
  10. Defo but they have given him a long contract which is probably why he’s gone there over a better team
  11. Anyone who can create chances is more than welcome to join the team! We have created barely anything of note all season and have been incredibly lucky in taking the few chances we have in most games. I cant stand anymore turgid sh*t going forward bring in some pace, skill and penetration the more the merrier!
  12. Can the moderators delete most of this non transfer talk guff please?
  13. well this is all very depressing. was expecting news on Porteous and Undav based on reports last week but isnt looking good the longer time goes on. is there anyone else we are in talks with that people have heard about?
  14. Like the sound of Porteous, hope it gets over the line before we get out bid by someone else. Good to see some forward thinking in replacing Ayala and at a good price.
  15. Feel exactly the same way. We have scraped through in almost all our victories and been smashed in most defeats. Had a tonne of luck holding out in the victories as well. We just don’t have the players for this system to work at the moment and he is too stubborn to compromise to suit the ones we do have. Hence no plan B or even A against teams where you need to go more direct instead of allowing pressure and bullying in the build up.
  16. Abysmal as per most away games this season. Credit to any travelling fans that are still bothering to go. The team has gone backwards under JDT in my opinion and unless he is given a war chest to buy players for his system he may as well go now.
  17. The ‘football’ under JDT is so boring, we create nothing and in areas where you need pace and skill we have none. The front three having one of their worst performances of the season. Sam and Vale have failed to do basic things like control a ball or run. Get them both off
  18. I would be happy to see Hirst go, he hasnt shown anything to warrant staying in the few games or cameos he has had. However, in fairness to the lad we just don't play a system that suits traditional strikers. Its the same reason Gallagher gets so much grief for his goal record. A striker thrives on crosses in the box, through balls, cut backs in the penalty area, neat 1-2s on the edge of the box. All the things we dont do as a team. The role of a striker in our system is more akin to a pressing midfielder like Dolan who harrasses their defence into mistakes for the wide lads or midfielders to take advantage of. So whoever we replace him with they need to make sure it suits the playing system otherwise we will just be sat here slagging some other fella off in a few months time.
  19. Like others if I wasn’t a season ticket holder no way would I be going to this. stupid time and not really enjoying our football this season. In terms of the match if we can play like in the first half from Boro we should turn these over comfortably but nothing seems to be going our way lately so prob lose.
  20. Thought the first half was a decent performance with a good mix of short passing and more direct cross field balls. Probably should have bagged one or two more. Also Boro could have had a couple and got down the wings a lot. Second half was just ruined by a poor first 5 mins then the red card. Stupid to do it but no right minded ref would red card for that. So a better performance than of late but nothing to show for it. Desperate for 3 points v Cardiff now
  21. Totally agree with this. Every single player would benefit from a a change of formation and tactics so why do we persist with it. He won’t get 15 new players in January. It isn’t like we are playing this way to get the best from Diaz or Dack or anyone. Baffling
  22. The less said about Saturday the better! One thing that irritates me though is how JDT was adament he wanted the world cup break to instill the style and tactics into the players like a fresh team would burst out post the break. I realise its only one game but that was as bad if not worse than all the other games we have lost this season. A fair few of the ones we have won have also been just as bad but we got away with it. Optimism waning big style, as others have said same old mistakes rolled out every week and he doesnt address it on the field or in his interviews. No way we have performed well enough to be in the playoffs and pretty sure will be found out to the bottom half over the remaining 20 or so games without major changes.
  23. Hang your heads in shame and refund the poor sods that travelled to watch that
