[Archived] Should Dunny Have Come Home?
Manchester Blue replied to blinddevotion's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
I felt a bit sorry for Dunn yesterday. He seemed to be trying to do too much yesterday when he came on and that was a big reason why he lost the ball. He was the ony player on the pitch in blue and white who was prepared to actually try something different and open Villa up. Bentley and Pedersen were far poorer for the whole game. We desperately lacked creativity and the game was crying out for the wingers to get involved. I still think he'll come good and next season is when we'll see the best from him. -

We had a striker in Dickov who ran all day long for you, anyone really want to go back to that? It's often a fact that some of the most skilfull strikers can also be quite lazy at times, Anelka, Yorke even Henry has been criticised. You either accept them for the qualities they have or you don't but very rarely do you change them. When Benni gets good service he is outstanding, when he doesn't he doesn't do much. We had striker in Bellamy who could create plenty but was a poor finisher and now we have one who doesn't create a lot but is a fantastic finisher. Anyone want one who does both? Stump up the £30m for Drogba. -

Off the top of my head I think they were £34 but they may have been even less they certainly weren't £36. Rumour has it they will be £40 next year as well. Supply and demand I suppose but can't see many Rovers going at those prices. -

Bellamy isn't far better than McCarthy it's arguable that he is even better. However it's daft to even compare as they are so different. McCarthy is a miles better finisher than Bellamy. Bellamy is miles better at setting things up and creating stuff from nothing. I don't know why people are obsessed with trying to compare and I don't know why people seem obsessed with trying to knock Benni. 18 goals at this stage speaks volumes in a team that hasn't performed great all season. -

Will nip on again tonight, Work get a bit funny about me playing games in work time. Was pleased to see us in the top 3 after doing nothing the last few weeks. I'm regularly getting ton plus now and it's amazing how much you can push the score up with those, if you're sad enough to play for a bit -

Because they are well short of capacity despite occupying a champions league spot for most of the season. It may have something to do with the football the play but the prices can't help. -

Phil doesn't have a solution Fife. He only exists on the board to post one line quips at other people while giving no suggestions, or making any points at all. -

It makes a huge difference because unless you watched the game I cannot see how you can judge him. You stated that McCarthy looked much better yesterday but Nonda needs to go home. I pointed out that he had one of his best 45mins in a Rovers shirt which admittedly he needs to do more regularly. If you are going to make statements on the back of what you have heard or read on here then you should expect to be shot down. -

Did you go to the game? I cannot understand how you can say that on the basis of yesterday. He worked his socks off, ran with the ball well and created space for McCarthy. The trick now is to do it every week but that was much better from him. -

Utter rubbish. He produced 2 valid goals today and his play was fantastic in the 2nd half. I was chatting in the pub after the match and it was pointed out that it's quite clear we have a fantastic finisher on our hands wo we should be getting balls in to him where he will finish. There is no point in lumping balls at him as it's clearly not his game. He can be a lazy so and so but so can many players, do the Arsenal fans whinge about Henry when he sulks around at times? People need to get behind him instead of slating him for misplaced opinions. Let's get Dickov back shall we he was never offside and worked his nuts off every game. -
I've tried that tactic, without much success ;-) All depends when and where for me. Won't be doing Istanbul or Tel Aviv, wouldn't want to miss Leverkusen or Waregem.
-
It could be either 14th or 15th although i'm hoping for 15th. Still no idea why Uefa have Odense through. It couldn't go off results between sides as you only play them once and that may be away which would be unfair. Just seen that Lee, obviously a cock up originally as going off their rules it had to be Lens.

see page 14 http://www.uefa.com/newsfiles/19070.pdf

I was just about to post their own regulations state the first criteria is superior goal difference. Bizarre!
-
U sure Lee? BBC has Lens in third due to goal difference.
-
Leverkusen finished 2-1 so they are a definite.

Vitoria is the closest but only direct flights available from Stansted. Bilbao is not too far and has more options.

For those who like to wear colours bear this in mind: Your best bet is to use the town centre for pre-match beer and then make use of that wonderful number 79 bus again. Most pubs in the town centre are strictly non-football colours though. So unless you cover up well be prepared to get turned around. If you've come by train or want to be close to the bus stop you can try the Three Guineas at the station. The Forum opposite the station, which used to be the Firkin, will only let you in if they don't think you're a football fan! Might be an idea to have something to cover up with. -

Yes, I think we're on the 7.54 but will double check, hopefully see you there. In fact if we are on that train we'll be there about the same time so will bell you Jordan. -

We're due in around noon and would imagine somewhere near the station will be a good starting point. -
