  1. Trying to score points about spelling and grammar doesn't hide the fact that he has a very good point. If we are well short of being full then people cannot continue using the price as an excuse for not going. By all means complain that the club doesn't send round a limo, put on free refreshments and then guarantee a win. Howvever if the attendance is somewhere in the region of 25k then I don't see how people can say they are being put off by price.
  2. Quite like Charlton & Fulham. Pompey worst of the current Prem along with Villa for facilities. Looking forward to Arsenal & Reading but no others really.
  3. Only saw the goals but Martin Petrov is a big fave of mine. Saw him playing for Atletico Madrid the other year and he was unbelievably good. Think he's out of our league maybe but he is a quality player, if not a bit inconsistent.
  4. Booked on the KLM flight from Manchester arriving at 11.05 and coming back on Saturday, can't wait.
  5. I asked Neil after last year and he couldn;t remember but he didn't think it was instant, more like a few hours.
  6. Anyone remember what should have been 5-2 to us in the play off 2nd leg at home? That was a perfect example of a goal being wrongly disallowed because a player was deemed offside even though he was behind the ball when it was played. As long as i've played the game and watched for that matter the rule has been as Den says that you cannot be offiside if you are behind the ball regardless of numbers of defenders.
  7. There are some decent possibilities for us to progress if you go off this seasons form Parma are 17th at present only off the bottom thanks to the teams deducted points, Leverkusen, Feyenoord & Auxerre all are having poor starts. Celta Basel & PSG have all made poor starts in pot 2 and Rangers should not pose a great problem. From Pot 3 Avoid Besiktas, Palermo and maybe Liberec and we'll be happy. Mlada are actually top of their league so we'd do well to avoid them and Nancy are in good form but the rest should be no problem. Bring it on.
  8. --> QUOTE(Ste B @ Oct 2 2006, 15:44 ) 449322[/snapback] i'm pretty sure that the computer draw only actually takes into account the fixture conditions - ie no team from the arctic circle playing at home in december, and is structured to enable the top 2 seeded groups to have a home game as the last game. Resulting in as you say us playing somebody from pots 1 and 3 I still think it could change though. If as it looks we are team D from the schedule it would mean teams C & D playing at home on Match Day 4. As Besiktas & Fenerbace are in C & D this can't happen I would have thought so surely there will be a bit of change.
  9. Bert has updated his site with the following comment:- Apparently the computer draw is not completely random. Until now it is most often found that a team plays at home against a team from the next lower pot, and (as a consequence) plays away against a team from the next higher pot (using a cyclic connection between pot 1 and pot 5). Which would mean that we would be away to pots 1 & 3 by my reckoning. Still think it could change but we'll find out soon enough.
  10. It's decent of you to admit it and I do agree that it is a good sign to see more and more different ideas being tried. It's just a shame when they go wrong and make the club look silly but fair play for explaining.
  11. Well done to the club? I don't see how they can be applauded for emailing people to come to games, after the game has taken place. We were informed that John Williams was surprised that people had a negative impression of our Marketing dept. It's all well and good saying at least they are trying and ok the emails were a waste of time but the intentions were good. These people are paid a large amount of money for the job of marketing this club. Everything I have heard and seen shows they are not in any way earning that money.
  12. We aren't on GMT at present we are on BST still. The draw is at 11am.
  13. Incidentally did anyone else get the wonderfully timed email from Rovers Marketing dept. At 21.21 today I receieved an email thanking me for my support on Thursday and asking me to book tickets for the game against Wigan. That would be the one that took place 6 hours prior to this email. Apparently they also sent out mailings on Thursday urging people to come to the Uefa game, at 20.30. Genius!
  14. I didn't say there was anything wrong with supporting two clubs if you so desire. What irritates the hell out of me and others is the fact that Jan's love of Celtic affects so much of her postings on a Rovers board that it becomes a joke. Simple as that really.
  15. I am almost certain that it is not as simple as Pot 1 becomes team A and so on. The website states that factors such as clashes with teams from the same country etc have to be taken into account and so it doesn't mean that we will be D by any means.
  16. I'd be guessing Den. I honestly think it's only 90 mins but wouldn't stake my life on it. Sorry just seen the question if it's 1-1 at 9.30 we're through simple as that.
  17. Actually that is pretty close to what I proposed before. Non-attendees can put their excuses on here and if we agree then ok. If not then they should be murdered in their beds. I think that's fair, any thoughts?
  18. Friend of mine runs a junior football team and is bringing along the team and a few others making 20 in all. Luckily he is persistent and didn't give up when faced with the obstacles put up by Rovers. He originally called explaining he wanted to bring along the team and wondered if the club could do some kind of a deal. They stated he would have to write a letter. Obviously in the time available this wasn't practical so he went to the ticket office. They actually told him he couldn't have 20 tickets as he might be a tout and he'd sell them to away fans. Yes you heard right people, morons run the ticket office. He persisted and rightly pointed out the nonsense of this given the opposition and after the staff had a 5 minute chat they eventually relented and let him part with his money and buy 20 tickets. These kids are potential Rovers fans of the future and the halfwits in the ticket office are doing nothing to encourage them to come. I just hope the team do the stuff and get these kids hooked. I really worry though for the future of the club when we are struggling to fill the ground and the staff are making it difficult for people to buy them.
  19. Well if it's so much better then spare us the tiresome anti-rangers bile and post on a Celtic board instead. Why on earth do you think anyone is remotely interested in your childish vendetta's?
  20. Salzburg had beer on sale inside their ground for home fans. Possible it was Alcohol free but there seemed to be plenty of people drinking it.
  21. Should have known we would have won. We always do when I don't go!!! ;-)
  22. Dear god i'm glad i'm not as pessimistic as some of you lot. Can't wait setting off soon, is there a game on as well did someone say?
  23. Sounds par for the course where Gray is concerned.
