  1. Millwall 2nd goal, Luton flapped at a corner when they hit the bar, Coventry not dealing with multiple crosses (goal scored from 2 yards out in the centre), Huddersfield 1st goal from the corner he came and flapped at the ball and missed. That's just the last 7 or so games. Might be harsh to add Huddersfield second goal through his legs and Reading from 25 yards near post went down like the titanic. In the interest of balance, there were a few Kaminski howlers too, Rotherham in particular springs to mind.
  2. Kaminski won 14 from 28 (50%) and clean sheet % of 35.7% and save % of 71.2% Pears won 6 from 18 (33%) and clean sheet % of 27.8% and save % of 67.2% Prob worth adding Pears had a pretty settled back 4 in front of him throughout. Kaminski had Travis RB, Phillips CB, Hedges, LB, Mola LB all on occasion. That Burnley away game Kaminski had a back 5 of Brittain (LB), Mola, Ayala, Hyam, Hedges (RB)
  3. Moneyball it certainly is not. Obviously xG is clearly very divided on here, but I thought i'd mention anyway as it can help alleviate any bias we all may have. The column highlighted is the difference between Expected Goals Conceded vs Goals Conceded. i.e. Kaminski conceded 3.1 goals fewer than xG would suggest and Pears conceded 1.5 more.
  4. Pears signs a new contract to 2027 - don't like where this is going personally. If you're playing against Blackburn Rovers next season just keep whipping those balls into the box and reap the rewards.
  5. £2.45m revenue we made from ST and half ST this season just gone, and that was allegedly the most since PL relegation. It's absolute sweet F-all in the grand scheme, and so easy to recoup the same amount with cheaper tickets. We'll save more than £2.45m a year in wages from Dack/Ayala/Diaz (2 of which barely need replacing).
  6. Plymouth at home on a Wednesday night red button = sub 10k crowd at this sale rate. Makes my blood boil looking at the seat map and thinking they're actually happy with this! They should be ashamed. If you purchased individual tickets for each game last season it would be £575 at original prices. Then a few went cheaper (Luton £20 instead of £25, Norwich £20 instead of £25, Reading £10 or £15? instead of £20, and then probably a few more I've missed too). So in reality it would be about £550 if you bought every single ticket individually. You'd have to attend 19 of the 23 matches to make it value to buy at £429 (and it probably won't be value at all at the next price increase). There isn't really any other benefits to a season ticket, the stadium doesn't sell out and you'll likely get any away ticket you want now Burnley are gone.
  7. Could be a really interesting year coming up for a few clubs. I think PNE could be in for a real struggle. Little to no investment at all in their squad and a few players running down contracts. Johnson leaving on a free this summer they've got absolutely zero creativity. Relegation battle for them. WBA running out of money, they'll be selling anyone of value and won't be attracting much good. Can see Coberan leaving when reality hits in, maybe Leeds would fancy him if they end up relegated. If Leicester come down they've got a huge loan out to the banks, I'd imagine they play it the same way as Burnley in that they'll sell Maddison and Barnes for £70m or so, and reinvest £20m of it. Their wage bill is around £70m a year, and I doubt they have any clauses in place. It won't be as easy as people think to emulate what Kompany managed to do this year.
  8. Exactly this. Nearly every reply under season ticket posts for the upcoming year is a negative one. In recent years it always felt more weighted towards agreeing with pricing
  9. I read that we generated revenue of £2.45m last year from 9.3k season tickets and 409 half season tickets, which works out an average ~£250 a ticket, i.e. weighted between adult/senior/kid (allegedly the highest revenue since relegation). To make the exact same revenue and get 15k sales the average price would have to be £163. I'd imagine that would be about £200/£150/£100/£75 tiers for adults/seniors/kids etc. (or at worst £230 adult which could be branded as £10 per game) Personally, I think it's a no-brainer that we'd sell 5k extra if it was priced at £200 compared to £379/£429 (we've seen 16k+ with walk ons in consecutive weeks at £25/£30 a match - along with what we know Bolton/PNE sell). Obviously you'd lose matchday ticket revenue as you'd get less walk-ons, that probably equates to around £750k (which you could make back by adding it to the season ticket prices i.e. charge £250/£175/£125/£75 It just shows it's lazy, outdated thinking by those in charge. They COULD make the change, make it affordable, fill Ewood, improve our atmosphere, rebuild the team in the community. They just can't be bothered doing it.
  10. Excellent news. Some of us having been calling for a midfield 2 of Wharton and JRC for months. Would make us very competitive next year if we can fill the front 2/3 with quality
  11. Probably because we barely spend any time in the box. We just pass it around the outside of the box, with no striker in the middle.
  12. Looks absolutely fine for FFP. I think it is about £35m you get over a rolling 3 year period, so we have a decent bit of room in that there. Obviously no player sales last year nor-training ground so it could potentially be £15m loss in 22/23 (a bit off-set with extra revenue from Sky / Cup Run etc.). Either way, there shouldn't be any issues next year. The Wages/Turnover still needs to come down further mind you. Be interesting to see where it is once the latest crop of senior players have left. Not sure how much extra we get from the new TV deal in the future, but realistically that should bring us down to around a £5m-£10m or so loss a year if run correctly. Albeit lots of caveats around match day income not decreasing because of it and not changing spending because of it.
  13. Blackburn Rovers now £429!! Four Hundred and Twenty Nine Pounds. Current prices for our Lancashire rivals below (some were even cheaper prior) Burnley: WAITING LIST! Bolton: £299 (sold over 15k!) PNE: £280 (until June 5th!) Huddersfield: £249 (not really rivals but similar demographic / finances) - until 30th June So we are now £180 more expensive than Huddersfield and £149 more expensive than PNE for the next month What a waste of space Waggot truly is! Early bird expiring 1 or 2 months ahead of everyone else. 1 Adult + 10 year old at Rovers now £489 vs £368 Bolton, £298 Huddersfield, £280 PNE!
  14. Yeah, most years the 3 relegated teams are competitive, but outside of themselves I don't think anyone is substantially better than us bar Boro. If Boro go up too then we have no excuses (providing we have a competent transfer window)
  15. In the interest of Blackburn Rovers 23/24, hopefully Boro go up in the playoffs as they are the best team, on and off the pitch. Luton I can see regressing next year, especially if they lose a few. Coventry will likely lose Gyokores and maybe Hamer, and it's unlikely they will reinvest much of it Sunderland will lose their loan players who have been the difference and have a full window under Mowbrays meddling. Nothing to fear from those 3 if we actually back JDT this summer. Add in that West Brom are now skint, Norwich and Watford are final year of parachute paymements so shit or bust for them and below us it doesn't seem many will make improvements. Swansea and Stoke probably the two, maybe Hull, as well as an inevitable good season for Ipswich. Should be very open, if we fix our glaring issues (everyone on the board has pretty much agreed with positions that need filling) then I'd say Top 6 is an expectation next season (5 non-relegated teams finished top 6 this year).
  16. “I’m going to say 2 big negatives about the players…but they’re both the type of signing we should me making” You don’t half come out with some twaddle.
  17. Keep JDT, Buy a striker, 2 wingers, a CM and a LB who are all ambitious starters, keep hold of Adam Wharton and move Rankin-Costello forward and then I’ll feel optimistic about next season.
  18. Ipswich could be similarly competitive next year I think.
  19. Wouldn’t surprise me if it was in JDTs head and he had a little trial with it
  20. Fucking hell - wasn’t too far off. Preston no show though
  21. Were Millwall terrible in the 2nd half or are we a better and more balanced side with Brittain RB, JRC in centre mid and Travis in the dugout?
  22. Makes no difference for us. Their GD is far superior. If anything another Boro goal basically confirms Mowbray makes it in.
  23. Cracking game for the neutral and even more so now both teams need win with 30 mins left We’ll be on Sky 30 times at this rate next year
  24. Sunderland 2-0 up. Absolute textbook that we do the job for Tone
