  1. Can’t remember where I saw it but yeah you’re right it looks dubious. Probably one of those ‘estimates’ someone picked up on Pretty sure they still rank towards the bottom of the league overall (and point still stands around owners/directors/board with braincells!)
  2. Unfortunately likely. Though we seem to be getting a better hold of both those things from albeit a horrible low under Kean. I read last night that Brightons wage bill is £28m (19th out of the 20 in the league), it was like 1/10th of Uniteds. Incredible effort, and shows what you can build when people running the show actually have a brain.
  3. If it is an extra £4.5m extra income (as said above) for this we should be instantly offering £200 or £230 season tickets (£10 a game as the marketing message). At risk of decimating (half way there anyway) our match going fan base otherwise!
  4. It can’t just be a coincidence can it? And surely we don’t pull in the highest viewers for Sky. Just seems so odd, are we proactively pushing to be on TV for the bits of extra income. 20 times vs 7 Coventry or 5 Stoke (the two of of those both televised when they played us!) or 12 Boro.
  5. Kaminski Brittain - Carter - Hyam - Pickering JRC - Wharton - Travis Thomas - ??? - Szmodics Back to 3 in the middle - no idea who starts upfront, maybe even have to go for Gally if fit!
  6. Yeah - obviously they’ve not been very mentally aware of the last 12 years. Imagine getting 10 games out of Wharton then selling him to some Crystal Palace type and being happy about a few mill to pay off Venkys debt.
  7. If this is Adam Wharton or Ash Phillips then I want Waggot and Broughton’s head on a stick and then I want to use that stick to beat the living daylight out of anyone in the Rao family. Shame on you with your heads in the sand (admittedly not many of this forum)
  8. My view is that I’d understand the project/building if we had any sort of pot to piss in. Similar to last year we have to take these opportunities as it could always be a relegation scrap next year with our owners/board/squad. I must admit, it hurt me more last year, automatics were an actual possibility in the new year and we looked like we could beat anybody at one point. This year, everything suggested we weren’t a top 6 team (“but we’re in 4th?”) and eventually we regressed to the mean (a 10th-ish placed side)
  9. Swansea I’d fancy and we all know Mowbray could fuck it up for Sunderland. Just not convinced we’ll get the 3 points More to the point, if Sunderland are winning 3-0 at HT are we just letting Millwall have it to avoid the double of Burnley win league at a Ewood and Mowbray wins promotion at Wembley.
  10. Shows how weak and fragile they are then. No leaders, no captain
  11. 7.7% chance with margin so probably more like a true 5% chance we finish in the top 6.
  12. He’d be a steady player lower down the league. If he was a starter at Rotherham I don’t think we’d all be calling for his signing this summer for example.
  13. Think he means PNE roll over and both themselves and Mowbray have a laugh at Rovers
  14. Imagine we end up losing JDT but the thief on £300k stays around for a few more seasons. Someone of JDT’s stature getting called into the car salesman’s office is something that makes me feel sick!
  15. I think Carter is fine to start. CB defo isn’t a priority. Others I agree with both. Need a full new front 3 (or 2 alongside Sammie depending on formation), and a new midfielder next to Wharton, and new LB if we’re really wanting to be serious. Today has me settled on my opinion that Travis isn’t good enough for a promotion starter, and he certainly is anything but a captain! He goes into his shell if a game ever matters.
  16. Borderline gross misconduct from JDT that Ben Brereton is still starting matches.
  17. £6.6m over a year - Equivalent of 7 x Ayalas…..crazy. Must be some serious non-playing wages getting spent at Rovers, as outside of Ayala/Dack/Gally (maybe Diaz on the year extension) I don’t think we’re paying very much at all. If we got rid of those 4 and replaced with nobody it would still be like £3.5m more than Luton
  18. I always feel like if we had some sort of amalgamation of the last 3 years we’d walk the league, but it’s never clicked each year. Adam Wharton with Harvey Elliott pulling the strings and Diaz (not Brereton) and Armstrong 2nd top scorers in the league. With Van Hecke and Hyam at the back and JDT in charge. We’ve been unfortunate that all those league leading stars/moments/positions we’ve had haven’t overlapped in the same year and it’s led to a lot of 8th-12th style squads. Maybe next year will be the one, though I won’t hold my breath for the transfer window.
  19. So now all rivals have played: Have to beat Millwall no matter what mathematically, otherwise we can’t surpass both themselves and Coventry (regardless of Luton result) So 3 scenarios from the Luton result: Win: It’s fully in our hands, not reliant on any other results. Beat Millwall and in. Draw: Still in it, need to beat Millwall, but now reliant on Sunderland not beating PNE and WBA not beating Swansea too. Lose: Season over, nothing to play for against Millwall (unless we beat Millwall by 6 goals, Sunderland don’t beat PNE and WBA don’t beat Swansea)
  20. Nothing to do with our 5 seasons. You were comparing Mowbrays Sunderland to Lowes PNE, this season It’s easy to know which of them are more entertaining, PNE had scored about 2 goals after 12 games and 10 0-0 draws! Whilst the other has scored the 4th amount of goals in the league (all without a striker for the majority of the season)
  21. Makes no difference - WBA win 2 and we win 2 and we finish above them
  22. Whatever you say mate but Sunderland and PNE are like chalk and cheese. Unless you’re so dim you don’t understand the definition of entertainment.
  23. Mid-table with -11 GD - he’s got PNE no where near the playoffs. Mowbray has done a far superior job to Lowe, both position and entertainment wise.
