The fall of Hughes is crazy really. I almost have respect for him that he’s still up for it and took on Carlisle bottom of League 2. Wonder if Duff would give us a go. Won the league in Ireland last year, would expect his next step to be the Championship, albeit he is a big advocate of the league of Ireland so may seem hypocritical. Also, didn’t watch that league at all but looks like a bloody boring team - they won the league with only 40 goals in 36 games! No chance on Carsley. I’d fear the worst for our next appointment to be honest, only so long we can keep getting away with it.

Had success at Forest Green before hand too to be fair. Watford always a bad place to judge a manager / sacking. Good at Forest Green, Got Luton promoted - I’d struggle to see us do better with Venkys around personally. Edit: Won the league with Forest Green and took Luton to the Premier League (and did better than expected up there) - think we’d have been delighted with that success when JDT gave up on our owners.

Interesting to hear Eustace come out and talk about the current risky player contract situation with a lot of 1st teamers out of contract in less than 18 months. Starting to sound a little like JDT at the end of tenure, but less blunt pointing a blatant finger at Pasha and Waggot. As always, the club is being sabotaged by the very people running the show.

Dolan has an assist every 538 minutes over the last 2 seasons (every 6 games) Hedges has an assist every 714 minutes over the last 2 seasons (every 8 games) Neither particularly worth noting (to put it kindly). For what it’s worth, I hope we keep Dolan - I think he is good enough for the Championship. If he was elsewhere and playing against us I think we’d be saying he looks good, and to be frank, we couldn’t afford his transfer fee if he was elsewhere. Hedges on the other hand, isn’t and never has been Championship standard. He’s okay as a squad player on low wages, but the reality is he’s started 24 of the 30 games this season - that shouldn’t be happening.

Funny one with Hedges as I don’t rate him, at least as a Championship winger, but the off-ball run and ball across for our penalty is something you won’t see from Dolan (would need 10 touches), ACD (wouldn’t make that type of run) or Weimann (legs wouldn’t get him there). He has occasional flashes but in general lacks quality. But I don’t have much good to say about the other ‘wide’ players either.

Boro, WBA, Norwich and Coventry will be finishing above us. Wouldn’t put it past Bristol City / Sheff Wed either. We have 8 points from our last 11 fixtures As someone else posted earlier, we’ll drift back to 10th-14th and we’ll be 12 months away from losing Travis, Tronstad, Brittain and Hyam on frees.

We did absolutely nothing once 2-1 down. The midfield is laughable, no creativity at all. Cantwell was shocking. Yet nothing invested there all window (bar Forshaw). Disgraceful that it’s 8 league games since the window opened and we’ve seen Forshaw a few times, Sanderson for 5 mins and Kargbo for 5 mins. We’ve got 7 points from those 8 matches. A complete and utter failure from our owners and board
