  1. £40m brought in and pennies spent - still can’t be long for the next finance release showing us a suspicious yearly -£20m hole and small gene pool lads telling us we should be grateful for Venkys and we’d be Bury without them etc etc.
  2. Better squad than JDT had last season in my opinion. Potentially could argue Szmodics nullifies that but Cantwell, Ohashi, Beck would all be starters last season (Weimann and Baker squad filler, Gueye shit, not seen Toth or ACD) whilst Szmodics, Gallagher (always crocked) and loans left. We had bloody Garrett starting for us and Markanday as our hope from the bench last year. Whoever Broughtons replacement was (was it David Brent himself?) signed a load of players, albeit for the price of a loaf of bread. January 2023 was when Venkys, Waggott and Broughton fucked it all up. edit: should add post-Jan when Wharton was already gone and we collapsed down the table
  3. The club is on life support. Absolute shambles top to bottom.
  4. Fuck me - we finally do all the above and I’ve just witnessed one of the worst 50p heads ever
  5. The thing I don’t understand about the Gueye signing is that he was clearly not a goalscorer when we signed him, but just a big target man…..yet every time we play him he’s upfront on his own and the wingers are not wide players who deliver crosses. Nobody playing off him or delivering it to his head, so what is the point in him playing for us.
  6. Why are we still playing 4 at the back with Travis and Tronstad. They’re completely sitting deep and we have 7/11 defensive players on the pitch
  7. 2 goals in our last 7 matches, 0 in last 4. Barely remember us taking a shot from within 12 yards of the goal even, if we do ever create anything it’s fairly low percentage stuff Szmodics is still our 2nd top scorer!
  8. I guess we may as turn off now? No goals in this 11 playing Eustace ball
  9. Have you anything to back that up as I’m pretty confident that’s completely not true - especially Luton who have very little coming in given their capacity
  10. Pickering, Brittain, Leonard all started plenty under the last manager, then Weismann, Gueye, Toth, Baker all new signings under the new manager - that’s 7 of today’s bench. We’re nowhere near as stretched as we have been in the past relying on Markanday and Garrett to start and looking at Telalovic on the bench as the game changer. If we do actually get a few injuries it’s only going to get worse.
  11. Might be a few players who can actually play wide and cross a ball to the big man in the middle. He isn’t getting that from Dolan, Weismann or Hedges (left footed on right wing)
  12. 11 goals in about 250 Rovers appearances between them. I’d say it’s unlikely 😂
  13. Mentally weak club / team under Venkys. Long for the days of Hughes’ ‘bully boys’
  14. Regression to the mean well and truly underway at Rovers. Dreadful football - keeper hasn’t even made a save
  15. Yep I agree completely with that - but he is the one consistently picking Hedges. Say it every match thread but we need fast, wide wingers rather than plodding along with Hedges, Dolan, Weimann out there - proper athletes make a difference in this division - we have barely any in our squad.
  16. He’s picking the team - it’s a stronger bench than we had under the last few managers (Telalovic, Ennis, Markanday, Garrett anyone?) Half of this bench had to start under the last manager and the other half are new signings under JE. I agree with the general message though, Hedges and Dolan are slowing it down, but not sure we’ve been in good positions - we’ve barely been in their box or made their keeper work
  17. Probably why we didn’t get him ☹️
  18. Eustace-ball has barely created a sniff in the last 5 matches so we can probably turn this one off now. 2 touches in their box so far
  19. Yep there is absolutely no creativity behind the striker (if we continue to play 1 up there). Travis and Tronstad can do a job and keep us solid in front of the back 4 but we need more in the 3 in front of them. (IMO Cantwell central and 2 fast wide players either side running off the striker - which we don’t have)
  20. As much as I think we’ve played pretty poorly over the last few matches, I have to say I think today was much better and the best we’ve looked away from home for a while. Unfortunate to lose. Still fairly toothless upfront but looked like we could pass the ball a bit at times at least for a change. Cantwell just looks like another Buckley (cracking game every 10 see Newcastle in the cup). Bit of a luxury and needs more of a free central role for me. Shows glimpses of quality which we’d get more off centrally than wide left IMO Travis’ best game for a while, though he looked good. Hyam should have scored and that’s pretty much cost us the game. Not sure what Weimann offers us. Still a lot of questions on who the best 3/4 ‘attacking’ options are, but we need more creativity behind them too
  21. That was a tough watch. Absolute dire mid-week ‘entertainment’. I’ve never seen a team so bad at taking a throw-in. No idea what they do in a weeks training.
  22. Not sure where to post this but I guess the clown of a CEO is the one we should be laughing at….. Looks like Rovers are posting a social media reveal just for the fact we’ve finally restocked some of our kit….at the end of October.
  23. I’d imagine that Travis and Hyam are un-droppable for a yes man manager like Eustace. These are two prime examples of where we need(ed) an overhaul of our squad. They’re both weak minded and have years of constant championship failure, or at best plodding along mid-table. They’re assigned as the leaders in our squad, but I couldn’t envisage anything less likely to drag us into promotion contention.
  24. Alexa, sum up Blackburn Rovers’ last 15 years
