  1. Because teams just walk through us in the middle. We have Wharton, Morton, Buckley who can supposedly pass a ball, along with Dack further forward, if they can't then why are we signing them up to long contracts / playing a loanee every week.
  2. Exactly this, those two positions are essential. Prio 1 - CM enforcer. Prio 2 - Striker. Anything after this is a bonus. Most importantly, they have to be starters, none of this 'filling the squad', 'back up' nonsense. That's not what the January window is about when you're 3rd in the league. I don't care if they're permanent, or loans, as long as they improve the starting 11.
  3. Let’s get ahead of ourselves, why the hell not…… If either ourselves or Burnley get through to the Quarter Finals (decent chance given both teams 4th round draws), it’ll be the same weekend we’re meant to play in the league at home so that fixture will need moving. Will be interesting to see how they move it given it’s an obvious sky fixture (would they move to a midweek night match?)
  4. Why the bollocks would you want to draw Leicester or Southampton? Less likely to progress, hardly a ‘big’ club to draw any attention, wouldn’t draw in home fans and wouldn’t shift loads of away tickets (£) like an actual big club.
  5. Absolute nonsense, everyone said the same about Dack. He’s played 340 league minutes since Blackpool, across about 20 games. Morton has played over 1500 minutes in the same period. He might not have impressed (he did score against Birmingham), but if that’s your opinion it’s because he hasn’t been given a chance to
  6. Still scratching my head at the amount on here saying he was Finnish 🇫🇮 after about 70 minutes Football across 10 games
  7. Yeah I agree. Don’t think he’s the type we’d be after anyway, high wages, bit of a risk, waste of young potential
  8. No Cantwell in the Norwich squad suggests he’s off somewhere.
  9. Even longer for the pitch to recover! Probably had enough time to relay it all after Cardiff 😂 (unless we win tomorrow and get a home cup match)
  10. We need players to improve our starting 11 not just to pad out the squad, so based on that I’d look to fill the gaps below (if we don’t sell Diaz) Kaminski Brittain - Hyam - Ayala - Pickering ??? - ??? Hedges - Dack - Diaz ??? Then I’d also look at a full back given their injuries and lack of depth. Prio 1: CM dominator. Prio 2: Goalscorer. Prio 3 CM box to box. Then let Wharton, Carter, JRC, Buckley, Morton, Wharton, Dolan, Szmodics, Gallagher be your squad players who can rotate in for injuries, rest, cup matches
  11. So because he likes to train on grass, we’re now not able to play our matches on grass….as I didn’t see much greenery on that surface yesterday. Yeah I guess the indoor facilities are not comparable to the biggest clubs in the world but I’m pretty sure they’re good enough for a Championship club for a few days training
  12. Don’t we have state of the art indoor training facilities? Pathetic that we’re training on the pitch in my opinion
  13. Yeah 538 uses xG pretty much to model it. It will be similar to what bookmakers odds are offered. It’s essentially saying if we produce similar performances in the games left like you say then the results will be very different and we’d slip down the league
  14. West Brom have won 8 of their last 9 now, and only conceded 2 goals in that spell. I’d be very surprised if themselves and Boro (won 7 in 9) miss out on the top 6 given their squad quality and how they’re statistically rated.
  15. 27 days until we next play on that pitch, hopefully they can get it back into a decent state as it was pretty shocking today.
  16. Wigan after that too. We need to be on 50+ points after those 4 (30 games)
  17. Delighted with the 3 points. Despite my pessimism about our performances and expectation for us to collapse into mid-table, it has to be said this top 6 is there for the taking. Add a bit of quality in January please and get 3 points in all these ‘easier’ fixtures to build on a decent total we have now. Kaminski, Hyam, Ayala, Hedges and Dack are the first names on the team sheet for me. Diaz I guess has to be there too, though he’s looked more like Brereton the last few months. Some more depth at full back needed and a real quality CM who can improve our starting 11.
  18. Yeah good comparison. He’s more mobile than Travis, that little bit quicker in movement and reaction. I couldn’t imagine Travis catching up and timing the recovery tackle like he did. I’d like to see a bit more of him over the rest of the season.
  19. Complete shit for brains Brereton you have to square that.
  20. Everyone: I’d like to see Wharton / Markanday come on now JDT: Travis and Edun come on lads
  21. What on earth was Wharton just booked for? It was our free kick.
  22. Haha and I was slagging Morton for not passing forward, think it was his long ball to Brereton. Chuffed it was Dackys shot even with the huge deflection. Ref booking Hedges for kicking the ball in the crowd after the goal. Mental that’s the same result as the bollock cruncher from Cardiff
  23. We need to get 3 points here. Home match against a bottom 5 team, we simply need to win if we have any hope of clinging onto a playoff spot. Wharton on for mystery man Morton who I’m yet to see a forward pass from. Plays a beautiful 10 yarder sideways under no pressure though. Chuck on Markanday for Gallagher too - can’t do much worse.
  24. Debatable for me. Hyam and Lenihan yes Szmodics and Rothwell no Brittain and Nyambe probably but tbc and fairly minimal (given we had to pay a fee and likely larger/similar contract I’d say not worth it) Add in the below par loans compared to Van Hecke and Khadra I’d say we are far from an improved squad, add in the shocking position we’ve got ourselves in with BBD we’re much weaker
