  1. 4-2-3-1 can blend into 4-3-3 relatively easily during the game. Fully fit I’d like to see ————— Kaminski ————— Nyambe - Lenihan - Ayala - NewLB ————Travis — NewCM———— JRC ———— Dack ————Dolan ————— Armstrong ————— Rothwell and Holtby could rotate in for the CM. Would like to see Whiteman sign though from what I’ve heard from my Doncaster friend. (Especially with Travis now injured). Perhaps a risk with Armstrong central on his own. With 4-3-3 you’d perhaps lean on Brereton and Gallagher more Left back certainly the priority.
  2. I thought exactly the same... “He's a better player than Blackburns level. I'm still surprised he hasn't ended up in Brummie's unless there was a clash with Karanka.” What is that about? Birmingham who survived by 2 points and flirting with points deductions. Some hugely deluded comments in there. The good news is they highly rate him anyway.
  3. We were linked to Kamil Jozwiak in January, he had premier league interest though, would surely cost £3m+? I would hate to think we're focusing on attacking players ahead of defence (again!), and spending all our budget there If it is him, it would also leave the question as to what our formation is going to be and how we fit in Dack, Armstrong, Gallagher, Brereton etc (considering we spent £12m on the latter two).
  4. Ben Whiteman not even in the squad for Doncaster. I’d suspect he’s off somewhere.
  5. I wouldn’t say that’s strange at all, in fact it’s exactly what I’d expect from Mowbray... ”Harrison Reed needs to learn his trade from Richie Smallwood” anybody?
  6. A comparison for Buckley to me would be Mason Mount. 1 year difference in age, similar build and position on the pitch. Mount was a regular in a Derby team that finished in the playoffs and last season was a regular back at Chelsea. Buckley doesn’t need to bulk up loads to make it. He needs some proper game time, on the pitch with Dack i.e a midfielder who can hold possession with him, and a bit of freedom. Unlikely he’ll get much of that under Mowbray IMO
  7. The fella on Twitter is a Rovers season ticket holder, and I’m pretty sure a member of this board. Wouldn’t think he would make something completely up, but no idea where he’d hear it from. Regarding Samuel and Graham going it’s the correct thing, too much wages up front, might force Tony to not play a striker on the wing. Especially with Dack back fit. Do you remember watching Samuel? Made Jason Roberts look composed. Great to hear the Keeper is pretty much sorted.
  8. Not sure if anyone has posted this yet... Dack probably back from London on a train. Knee related or transfer related?
  9. A few cheap gems in the likes of Samba and N’Zonzi spring to mind though (German and a French 2nd divisions I think). Scratch the Portuguese stuff off as that was all agency rubbish rather than actually scouting. Brentford have a great footballing model, and certainly go about their business the right way. Shame for them that they seem to keep bottling it.
  10. A bit off topic regarding transfers, but in my era regarding legends (90s onwards and players only obviously) Legendary Shearer Tugay 2nd Tier Friedel Dunn Jansen Flowers, Hendry, Wilcox and pretty much the whole 95 team 3rd Tier Nelson Duff Pedersen ...... Graham, Samba etc are all outside of this for me. Dack fires us up to the PL then he‘s there
  11. They turned down over £1m from Hull for him in January. Club captain. Would be surprised if he goes for anything below the alleged release clause of £1.8m
  12. I guess this is it. I'd be surprised if we're going straight out and spending £1.8m instantly.
  13. Do we know for certain what the sell on % is for Josh King. That could be a bit of a rescue for us in dire straits. I’d assume he wouldn’t want to play in the Championship.
  14. He’s pretty highly regarded at Donny and I think has a few years left on his contract so would take a few million to get him. Hopefully that’s not our budget for defenders if it goes through!! Would be a good partner for Travis (again hopefully not a replacement) Edit: My Donny supporting friend tells me he has a £1.5m release clause. Apparently the Peterborough chairman announced that on twitter over Xmas
  15. I’ve lived in Leeds for the last 10 years and I’m not sure what to think about the promotion, it was enjoyable watching their failings year after year (losing to Donny in a L1 playoff final!). But I actually think I’m happy for them. They’ve been through multiple points deductions, managers like Hockaday, Evans and Heckingbottom, lost in the playoffs 4 times, had some horror owners and 1 administration. We’ve been through sone crap over the last 10 years so as a fan I can only say I’m happy for them considering that 16 year period they’ve been through. The Bielsa discussion has been had a lot over the last 2 weeks, but to put it simply this is all on him. He had a vision and has turned it around for them completely.
  16. Agree fully with this. We gain nothing from playing loanees in them.
  17. Pathetic and spineless, only bettered by the shit show against Barnsley. The only saving grace is that Cardiff won, meaning the season was over regardless of this result. Too many passengers and L1 players. Nobody can tell me that Bennett or Samuel are anything but L1 fodder. How can our manager get away with starting them. Downing as a false 9? Gallagher player right wing back. Downing and Johnson - shameful waste of wages, not sustainable for a club like ours. Travis - worst I’ve seen him for a while, which was disappointing. Rothwell made a difference when he came on, Holtby did pretty much nothing. Thought Rankin Costello was okay in the attacking form, a bit out of position at times defensively. Tony needs to walk (isn’t going to happen). Johnson to take over and a huge rebuilt needed if we actually have any ambition (I don’t think we do). If we somehow keep Nyambe, Lenihan, Dack, Armstrong and Travis then we need to replace almost every other position with a first teamer Bennett, Smallwood, Mulgrew, Johnson, Downing, Samuel all need to go (majority are our highest earners)! As well as others. I’m so deflated and not even remotely looking forward to next season. We all want what’s best for Rovers on this board, I’m sure we’re all in the dumps. Let’s just hope for some positive changes.
  18. It’s absolutely horrific. Think I’ve had one actual jump off the sofa moment and that was the Armstrong chance. We wouldn’t score if we had another 90.
  19. No idea how Downing has stayed on here I really hope we’re not carrying his wages next year.
  20. Armstrong has to score then. We’d be going ballistic if that was any other Striker. Rothwell has certainly made a difference here
  21. In fairness he played well from the bench last time out. Deserved to start here over DS anyway
  22. Mowbray never makes HT changes but at a minimum Samuel & Downing/Johnson need replacing.
  23. It’s infuriating. How is Samuel starting for us if we have any ambition to get out of this division! Has to come off at HT
  24. Woods in the middle for them dominating our midfield.
