  1. Ah yes…likely Ben Davies. Thank you
  2. “whilst special cases which require more and fall under the Brereton style purchase, would be authorised by the Rao's which has occurred already this summer on a player who we missed out on due to wages” Do we know who this player is? Trying to remember who we may have missed out on.
  3. Agree completely. I was just stating a fact.
  4. I don’t know that, but you also don’t know he wanted to leave so you contradicted yourself in your own paragraph. If anything we were told by ‘ITKs’ there was ongoing contract negotiations for quite a while
  5. Well he played the whole season for a team who got relegated to League 1 so yes that’s exactly what he was once we signed him.
  6. £12.5m I think upfront. £20m with add-ons Boros last 2 years have been £55m losses though and I think it’s £45m over 3 years for FFP. Will be loss again this year despite Spence money which puts them past FFP limit (depending whatever Covid slack was given)
  7. Zac Steffen (City backup keeper) also having a medical at Boro. I’d imagine he’d demand big wages. No idea how they’re doing this within FFP considering someone posted their last 3 years which showed huge losses
  8. I think someone was trying to point this out above - but why the hell does the white collar go lower than the blue collar. Jesus that's bad (as is the nipple level sponsor and the red devil and the sponsor brand) Quite like the shade / texture of blue though that's about it.
  9. So the extended loyalty scheme cost less than £7k (224 renewals saving £30). Again highlighting how moronic it actually is to increase the prices, it's a bloody drop in the ocean! *we are run by morons*
  10. I never thought Armstrong would succeed in the PL. I hated his 'shoot on sight' mentality, averaging nearly 5 shots a match, double every single player in the league bar Toney and Pukki (who both got promoted, whereas we finished 15th) I feel Brereton has more about him as an all round footballer, and more likely to succeed at a mid-table / bottom half team. I wouldn't sell though as like Armstrong, we won't get the money to spend.
  11. Isn’t ‘he’ allegedly having dinners and trying to give advice to Waggot / in Waggots pocket? If so it’s all rather worrying that he’s unaware of all this.
  12. I don’t understand - if our expectations are low then why are we expected (and you defending) to pay one of the highest season tickets in the whole division? We’ve never finished in the playoffs yet we’re charged prices to suggest we are / have been - not even touching on the economic situation and club competition in and around Blackburn You do realise the difference between 7,000 at £399 and 7,000 at £299 is £700,000 - about the yearly wage of an average player in our team? I.e we could sell tickets at £260 for the cost of Daniel Ayalas yearly salary. Therefore, it does absolutely nothing (or close to nothing to be precise) for our debt / income etc. which you’re trying to defend. That takes into account zero increase in sales from the cheaper tickets and zero increase in sales within the stadium (food/drink or even people buying a shirt as they have saved on the ticket etc.) which is guaranteed.
  13. Regardless of sales, can we not just compare the price to the other 23 Championship clubs? That’s surely a fair comparison. (Disclaimer: it’s higher than our finishing position has been in all of the last 10 seasons)
  14. Okay if not Bolton then try the 20 or so Championship teams to all have cheaper tickets than us. Beggars belief some of the nonsense on here.
  15. Fair - but he has his arms folded looking disinterested as multiple players walk past getting introduced, not just the still photo. Wouldn’t mind a bit of enthusiasm from him.
  16. Lol - I’m no body language expert but the absolute state of him in that clip
  17. Was a fan of this one from Butty in the previous thread! Couldn’t quote it as it’s a closed thread but top right arrow takes you to it.
  18. Yeah sorry, I meant on a Saturday 15:00 league match. We may have had a sub-10k there last season too to be fair without looking. It really is depressing.
  19. It will be very depressing if we see a sub-10k league attendance. The difference between ourselves and PNE is purely pricing, it's a perfect A/B test for the overpaid dimwits in charge to use, if they had half a collective brain. The towns are very similar in terms all aspects of the economy, fan base and recent success (or lack of). We finished above them last season, and we had a larger away following. ......yet despite all that they've sold 12k already vs 3k ourselves. It is purely pricing (and maybe a small manager effect though that won't move the dial that much). Of course the majority of us have been screaming this for a long time now, the £199 John Williams pricing in the Prem days proved it with an additional 2k-4k or so that added, we're now proving it again but the other way around.
  20. 😂😂😂 you never know! In fairness, De Ligt probably the only one who was playing top level at that very time. Stones at Barnsley wasn’t guaranteed to be World Class
  21. De Ligt was playing in a Europa League final at 17 and regular for Ajax at 16 and regular for Holland at 17 Tomori was on loan in the Championship at 18 I think Stones was starting for Barnsley aged 17 Reese James was at Wigan on loan for a year (yes Right Back and may actually have been 18) There will be more if I spent more than 2 minutes looking - there would 100% be L1 clubs lining up to get Phillips on loan.
  22. Completely agree. I’d say the only benefit of a successful player is that a bigger name might have a bigger pull on loans/youngsters which is beneficial to our current level in the Championship. They could still be poor managers of course. i.e a Rooney type would attract better players than a Grayson / Atkins type
  23. It actually looks like it’s all in reference to Sparks saying Brian Kidd won trophies as a player in response to a comment about JDT winning the Champions League as a player. So my first post was exactly on point actually. The comments were nothing to do with us hiring a rookie and nothing to do with Ferguson or Carrick…they were around whether a player winning trophies will make him a good manager….which is completely moot, some have, some haven’t. Every example is independent.
