  1. Agree that the officiating is truly shambolic. How have they got away with the free kick from that spot?
  2. Absolute league 1 fodder this. Big changes are needed as we're not far clear of the bottom 3 and come Christmas we'll be closer. We spent almost £11m on Bererton, Bell and Armstrong. Let that sink in.
  3. I don't mind mixing up the formation, but to resort to Armstrong up front on his own with Evans and Smallwood as the playmakers is baffling. That wouldn't get us out of L1
  4. We have to get away from this 2 holding midfielder nonsense. Neither have pace, both turn like a barge, and neither are playmakers. We just cannot play them there together. For me it has to be reed and either Rodwell or Bennett alongside at least then we'll have Box to Box and some playmaking ability in the middle. How Rothwell doesn't start is beyond me too. The relegation thread will be open soon with Boro, Norwich, Leeds and Sheff Utd to play in December
  5. 100%. I've seen nothing that makes me think he can make it at this level. That was also the case before the signed him.
  6. What a save from Raya On the rebound they just skip past Smallwood to play the cross in. If he's not there to break up play like that what is he there for?
  7. Unfortuantely it was Evans and Armstrong involved in the break and neither are what I'd call composed. A real chance that never really materialised.
  8. Wouldn't mind seeing us mix up our formation a bit and play more to our strengths (why persist with wingers when we have none?). We keep persisting with playing people out of position which is frustrating. Raya Nyambe - Lenihan - Mulgrew - Williams - Bell Reed - Rodwell - Rothwell Dack - Graham 5-3-2 / 3-5-2 with wing backs. Could switch Williams for Rodwell at the back and slot Evans/Smallwood/Bennett in centre midfield. Our best performance in recent memory was Stoke away (for 80 mins), and we played Dack up top as a 2nd striker to Graham. Perhaps this is tinkering too much but I think our strength in creativity lies with Rothwell and Dack and they need to play centrally, likewise Reed is box to box and has to play centrally as our engine. What I don't want to see: - Dack upfront on his own - 2 holding midfielders who lack creativity.
  9. Green Line is Northern and Blue Line is Transpennine. So long as Transpennine is running then you'll be fine (which I think it is). Likewise those going from Chorley will too.
  10. Definitely Northern Rail strikes, not sure if this affects transpennine which will get you from Manc Airport to Preston. They were running during the last strike, so I’d say you’d be fine. if not the buses will be running although not ideal. Train strikes will affect Blackburn to Preston route as that is northern rail only.
  11. Did you copy and paste this from one of your other Match Thread posts through the season?
  12. Id have certainly taken 4 points from Leeds (H), Swansea (A) and West Brom (A). With some very winnable matches (QPR and Rotherham at home and PNE away) coming up it's now the perfect time to kick on.
  13. Think you need to log out of here during the 90 minutes mate.
  14. We look really poor tonight, 2nd to every ball, they're pressing better and passing better. Ironically our best spell was before their 1st goal. Rothwell has to start alongside Dack against Bolton, we need players with intent to be starting.
  15. I've not read the messages on here yet, I don't want anything to blinder my emotions....but my god, I couldn't fault a single one of those players today. I've been a critic of Evans and Smallwood together in the middle for a long time but I thought they were excellent today, superb even. Hats of to Tony, looked more like a 442 at times with Dack up front and I thought this let him get more involved with Graham in an away game. The usually suspects were solid and immense, the high press pressure was an absolute pleasures to watch, my god have we had some uninterested dross over the last 7 years but today was the cherry on the icing on the cake, it may sound like an over exaggeration (winning 3-2 in a championship match) but jeez how good does it feel to watch players perform like they love and want that shirt. I've a huge smile on the back of those performances. It's what we all want and have craved for years. Players looking to win, tracking back, putting effort in. It gets me on to the main man, Danny Graham. What. A. Performance. Up against some giants at the back. He won everything. He held it all up, he makes Dack look better (if that's possible for our most classy player). Can't praise him enough right now. I left that stadium just wanting to continue clapping him, he was superb. Brilliant Rovers, brilliant Mowbray. We made it nervy as we always do, but were savvy in the last 5/10mins. Enjoy it lads. Stoke looked like us 5 years ago. It's a delight to have the lads and manager we do now. COYB
  16. Nyambe and Graham the two players who stood out positively to me. Neither Smallwood nor Armstrong should be anywhere near our starting 11, both are L1 quality at best. We need either Reed/Bennett/Rothwell alongside Evans in the middle, and Armstrong upfront on his own in a game like that is a recipe for 0 possession and continually invited pressure early on. How Rothwell struggles to get a game is baffling, I really want to see him playing alongside Dack. Glad we held on to get an undeserved point. Will take them away from home in this league.
  17. Raya Nyambe -- Mulgrew -- Lenihan -- Bell Evans -- Bennett Rothwell ----- Dack ----- Palmer Brereton The team is finally getting harder to pick now with a bit of depth. I think the above gives us decent balance, not much width though with neither Rothwell or Palmer a natural wide player (nor is Armstrong as another choice). Squad depth improving with Williams, Downing, Travis, Reed, Davenport, Smallwood, Armstrong and Graham.
  18. Rothwell looked really good. Himself and Nyambe were stand out. The rest fairly poor though Mulgrew slotted both his pens. Could have been different had the 2 early chances gone in.. We'd have killed the game off. I think at full strength we have a decent 11, just no depth, and these injuries just highlight we need to get some loans in. Raya Nyambe - Lenihan - Mulgrew - Bell Bennett - Rothwell Armstrong - Dack - Palmer Graham
  19. 1st was a deep free-kick from smallwood. headed across goal and Graham volleyed it in. Nice finish. 2nd was a lovely move down the left hand side flicked over to Williams who had loads of space and low cross put it on a plate for Dack from 5 yards out.
  20. I'm not convinced it's been decided yet. Charlton said home tickets were going on sale on Tuesday yet they're still not available.....perhaps waiting for confirmation of date/time. Not sure which slots are available still, Sunday midday maybe? Would be awful for our away support if so.
