  1. This is a horrendous 2nd half from Phillips. Really feel sorry for the lad, thrown in the deep end but well out of his depth.
  2. Exactly, we should be signing players to push for promotion and be ready for the PL if we had any ambition…for me it looks like we’re signing players ready for League 1 (like a promoted PL team signing Championship players ala Bournemouth)
  3. The Sheffield United HT pundits are laughing at how we’ve someone won 3 games this season.
  4. I keep seeing talk of JDT’s style of play, usually involving why Dack isn’t suited to this alleged “high press”. I’ve genuinely seen nothing this season to show we haven’t regressed as a team
  5. I think the emoji was more related to the pathetic “I hate Sunderland, tinpot club, overrated fans” comment.
  6. Pickering getting a lot of stick but I think Brittain has been horrendous, doesn’t look like a defender at all. They’ve all been rubbish though so there you go
  7. Eugh, was inevitable. How has he still got a job
  8. Correct triple sub for me. We can’t be any worse this half, surely…
  9. It’s up there for sure, remember these guys are the worst team in the league, managed by Paul Ince and just lost 4-0 to Rotherham
  10. Despite Chaddys unwavering opinion after 2.5 games, this lad Szmodics isn’t fit to lace Dacks boots.
  11. Bump to reality for us I think after a few results not reflecting matches (don’t mention the xG word!)
  12. Keith Stroud is the referee 🙃
  13. “Rovers are set to meet with his representatives in the coming days” Just sitting on our hands for now are we?
  14. The whole message in the original post you replied to was because the contract situation wasn’t resolved, so of course him stating if they were under long term contracts was relevant
  15. The answer unfortunately is the shambles contract situation (as seen with other first teamers) I’d keep him unless we get £20m, what’s the point like you say given the time invested in him and how good he’s got now. Wouldn’t go near £10m We we’re offered £4m (allegedly) for Rothwell with 6 months on his contract! No chance we should settle for under-offers now for Brereton
  16. Why are people assuming it has to be a short term panic buy. We've known we have no Van Hecke since the last kick of last season and we've known Lenihan was off for over a month. CB was clearly, 100%, unequivocally, a huge hole that we needed to fill in the off-season. We've had 2 months to draw up a shortlist, find a player, negotiate fees, negotiate contracts etc...It should not be a 'short term panic buy' just because we've had additional youth team / reserve team injuries in the last week to escalate what was already a glaring off-season issue.
  17. I don't disagree with that at all, but I don't see why it's has to be 'either or' between VDB on loan or a complete fluff like Paul Downing. The window has been open for 2 months so it shouldn't be the case of a rushed, short-term, rubbish defender.
  18. Pretty obvious what the point is. We finished our last match with our only recognised fit CB in the squad, the same CB who has the worst injury record in the squad. The other CB who is apparently fit made his league debut and got cramp (not ideal for 3 games in one week). You've got your head in the sand if you truly believe we should be waiting 2 weeks for the Liverpool lad who we might not even get given their injuries despite yourself making up that it's already agreed. The window has been open for 2 months, if we don't know which CBs we want by now, I see that as an issue.
  19. We finished Sunday with a back 4 of Buckley, Ayala, Pickering, Edun, of course we need a CB right now.
  20. He was sat on the bench for Liverpool last night. We need 2 CBs now, not to wait until Liverpool are happy to hand him over
  21. I read that Watford rejected a £20m bid for Joao Pedro from Newcastle today. Obviously the contract is going against us with Ben but surely £20m has to be the minimum we’d accept now.
  22. Their keeper (on loan from Boro ironically) made Pears look like Gordon Banks at the weekend. Hopefully we see a similar level performance on Wednesday
  23. Whilst I agree to a certain extent on the Pickering comments, it was the same when West Brom played Watford last week. Wallace is their superior winger so all the play comes down that side. He’ll trouble every LB in the league. I do agree that I’d prefer an upgrade there in the window though.
  24. I fancy a very good following to Bradford! Luckily I’m over from Ireland for work that week (on the Wednesday) so I’ll be moving that a day forward if it’s a Tuesday match for sure.
