  1. Yep they just flashed up the next 6 games and Swansea, Norwich and Brentford are in there.
  2. Tony is looking a lot more animated tonight. Wonder if he has been told it’s last chance saloon (wishful thinking and I know very unlikely)
  3. Yep that’s it...The Luton game was the one I was thinking of.
  4. This ref has had a few stinkers for us before I think. The name seems familiar, Ward
  5. He had Lenihan available through all his touches. No excuses at all, fully his fault. Looking for a ‘fancier’ pass to play.
  6. He’ll be in the changing rooms now trying to clean the ink off himself after the pen burst in his mouth
  7. Have Tony’s knees packed in? He’s actually giving some sort of instructions (or at least shouting at them) for a change, but still from his seat. 2am in Pune, assume everyone will be tucked up.
  8. Shocking stuff from Elliott. The Premier League overlords won’t be happy with our loanees performance there.
  9. Trybull is comfortably the best holding midfielder in our squad. We look a lot better in the middle without Travis (the unfit Travis since his return)
  10. But it’s selective reasoning - look at how many failed seasons Hughes has had. You use it against one manager but blissfully ignore it for others. Saints were in the relegation zone when they potted Hughes, I know which would be considered more of a flop season between that and Huddersfield. “two relegations and one lucky season” - again selective, firstly he got them promoted and then kept them up for a season and I could just spin that as promotion, safety and 2 unlucky seasons. Not sure what you’re even on about regarding his cohones, getting sacked once and leaving by mutual consent once doesn’t strike me as someone who “jumps ship as soon as the going gets tough”. Even if that was the case it’s no worse than the untouchable style we have at the moment. I’d bloody love it if Mowbray jumped ship. It’s all moot point anyway, never happening in a million years with these owners (Hughes or Wagner)
  11. You’ve contradicted yourself a little here...or does that statement only count for Mark Hughes and Gordon Strachan (I believe with Mulgrew as assistant) that you suggested... Hughes win rates of 18.5% at Southampton, and 23.5% at QPR Strachan, well he was 20th in this league in his last domestic role with one of the favourite for the league and then failed to qualify Scotland for a tournament in 3 attempts (one Euros they increased the size of qualifying teams too) Hypothetically, Ismael takes Barnsley up to the Premier League against all odds, and keeps them up for a season against all odds, they sack him when bottom in his 3rd year and he moves to one of the best leagues in Europe, he has a bad season there and gets sacked. Rovers are still mid-table in the 2nd tier, would you turn your nose up at him?
  12. The bloke took Huddersfield up to the Premier League and kept them up for a season. It would be the equivalent to Barnsley doing that now with Ismael. Huddersfield had come 19th, 17th, 16th and 19th in the 4 seasons prior and before that 9 straight seasons in the 3rd tier. Add in working in the Bundesliga and a product of a Dortmund development system, personally he’d be an outrageous upgrade and I’d be delighted. Far, far superior to the merry-go-round of unimaginative failures I’ve seen suggested like Monk or Rowett
  13. “Expecting a win tonight was unrealistic. They are better then us. Yes it’s been bad lately, but this isn’t a defining game. Dont beat Coventry then yes serious issues” Wood26 after the Watford defeat. Looking forward to hearing his thoughts on this now he’s admitted ‘serious issues’
  14. Ismael working absolute wonders for Barnsley. Fair play to all involved. Still hear “But who would we get that’s better than Mowbray” from a decent amount of our fans. 4 years is a long time, but it’s not long enough for me to remember he was L1 when we got him (L2 the year before?), and that nobody was bloody delighted at the time, wasn’t on a single wish list in the Coyle Successor thread.
  15. Watford had only scored more than 1 in an away game once all season and slotted 3 in past our badly organised side. In fact they’d only scored 8 away goals all season in 16 games! Give us a good manager and we compete. Plenty of other teams are with fewer resources to us.
  16. Go on then I’ll bite.... What about the game before that? Or the one before that? Or the one before that? Or even the one before that?
  17. What? Are you actually suggesting that Wagner, Bilic or even Ismael wouldn’t be as exciting as what we have? We pulled Tony Mowbray out from League 1 Coventry!!!
  18. Or go out and get a manager worthy of our club that could actually progress us? I’m firmly in the Mowbray out camp and have been for a while now, but suggestions of Sherwood and Lennon are the exact reason people would rather stick as we are. No imagination, big salaries and regression.
  19. Have you been asleep for the last 25 years?
  20. Corry Evans is going to get a full 90mins here
  21. The defence is just frustratingly bad. Mowbray needs potting for that alone. Everyone could see that the defence needed strengthening for this season, and CB in particular. He can cry about injuries all he wants but he had January to fix it too, and now we have two teenage loanees looking lost at the back.
  22. Hilarious isn’t it. Would bet most of my balance that the clown hasn’t seen him play once.
  23. I thought facilities weren’t a factor in FFP? Sure that’s been stated before when talking about the Riverside.
  24. Still hard to get my head around the fact we were sold for £23m (£45m or so with debt) all things considered. We sold Phil Jones for £16m a year or so later didn’t we. (Albeit finances from 10 years ago)
  25. That Mowbray comment (and countless others) really got on my goat. What exactly do we do in training that requires the farm at ewood over our current (superb) facilities? The man is a lunatic, or is he (disclaimer: speculation) involved in this whole shitshow and therefore getting a point across to owners/fans that our facilities ‘aren’t good enough’ and the answer is clear and obvious...we have to sell half of it for a housing estate and half our total land/facilities/pitches and potentially lose our catA academy, that is surely the only answer to avoid training on the ewood bog, you know we don’t have state of the art indoor facilities ALREADY! Somehow fans are lapping this up as “shrewd”. Absolute boot lickers. Almost split my sides laughing at the ‘everyone on the same site’ justification. You could throw a bloody stone between the two. We are literally cost cutting here. Losing half our land and half of our facilities. Best laugh I had on here since a few months ago when someone argued to me that £300k was a justified salary for our CEO EDIT: laugh isn’t the right word actually as this whole situation actually angers and upsets me.
