So much I agree with in the last few posts. Good work everyone. Whilst I fully agree that the injury to Dack was a hammer blow, that isn’t the main thing that has cost us, we still could have made it, owing to Arma seriously stepping up (sorry for doubting you lad, you’ve been amazing!) if it weren’t for the below: Incredibly poor team selections, bizarre and inexplicable tactics, insistence on including Elliott Bennett ahead of superior players in their natural position, playing players out of position, a lack of natural width, a lack of depth in defence, an inferior goalkeeper replacing the one with the joint most clean sheets that we sold to a team now third in the league and the piece de la resistance- £12 Million on two strikers that couldn’t hit a cow’s backside with a frying pan. When you think £7 Million could have signed Patrick Bamford, who’s at table topping Leeds, it’s enough to make you want to put your head in the oven! The lack of accountability from local journalists is a massive bug bear for me as well. I can understand why they treat Mowbray with kid gloves as it might hinder future access to content, but it’s still absolutely pathetic.

Listen, I’m not saying he hasn’t been a bit disappointing overall, as he most definitely has. But he’s contributed much more than the 3.5 he was given, as far as I’m concerned. A 5 at best like....

Think the OP has been harsh on Johnson and generous with Holtby. Barring that though, I’m pretty much in agreement.

Mowbray set us a target of 70 points this season. After tonight, the maximum we can reach is 66. I’m sure that won’t be his fault though.

But there’s been no chat about an injury to Nyambe, so why presume that? Bennett gets mugged off time and again at full back, so much so that it’s embarrassing.

The point being with that was, not selecting our best player is absolute madness. Back on Nyambe..... Confidence and attitude aren’t the same thing. I don’t think his attitude can be questioned, in fairness. With better management, he could be a better player as far as I’m concerned.

Not sure that really makes sense tbh. If he’s a confidence player, then the manager needs to work with him on that.

If Bradley Dack is here and drawing breath, then we continue to build the team around him. His goal tally since being here speaks for itself.

Even when they were both fit, Mowbray picked Bennett over Nyambe at times.... In my view, he’s a confidence player and the above won’t have helped with this one bit!

Just because their owner has said that is what he wanted all along, doesn’t mean that you have to blindly defend his decision. Personally, I agree with everyone else, it’s a bit rubbish if there’s no ambition and a shrug of the shoulders about relegation. It’s a bit aimless and sad, that it’s the limit of that club’a ambition. Can see this going down in folklore with the fans: ‘19-20 season was a cracker wasn’t it? We got smashed most weeks, but we made up the numbers! Halcyon days’.

The way Armstrong has stepped up in Dack’s absence makes me wonder how effective they will be together! Let’s hope we get the chance to see this next season! Travis runs him very close though.
