  1. I'll take that on the chin! With watching Rovers and England so much over the years, the cynic in me always fears the worst! When I'm proven wrong, we all win anyway!
  2. I do think the 4-3-3 is the system to go with in the future to be honest, it gets the best out of our players, but at the same time, doesn't really leave much room for a no.10 role...... I had hoped to see Maddison get a run out as well. Still, we beat Spain in their own back yard, we've got to be pleased with that!
  3. Sterling and Rashford, the two lads that needed goals the most, have a brace and one respectively.... Doing pretty well this half and tbh, it could have been more! Doesn’t look like Spain have a full side out, but then again, it could be argued that we don’t either!
  4. 'Letting someone know you're there', is hardly the equivalent of manslaughter. Playing football is a battle and if defenders put in a heavy, but fair challenge early on, some attackers perhaps won't relish the physical battle and have a quiet game. It happens a lot, even at the very top level sadly. Re Nicky Marker's challenge, only he will know whether he intended to 'hurt' Ben Thornley or not. My guess is that he went to try and land an early blow in the physical battle I mentioned above, but as I haven't seen the challenge, I can't possibly comment. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it seems unlikely that he would go into that challenge intending to ruin (a fellow pro) Ben Thornley's career.
  5. Yeah, I thought that and then the commentator brought up the fact their main striker Kemar Roofe was injured. (Not a big lad at all, as it goes). He'll no doubt be back to face us....
  6. I’ll be honest, I still think this is a myth about Rashford.
  7. People who have forgotten more about football than me or you would ever know saying he was better than seasoned international footballers from the same period and you're saying it didn't ruin his career? Behave. He also won a pay out as a result of the tackle from Nicky Marker....Anyway, to be fair, this isn't about Man United, it's about Ben Thornley and his career.
  8. Good tour. Apart from the carpet probably needing an update, I'm bang into that boardroom!
  9. Kaytranada- Got it good
  10. Johnny Cash- Get Rhythm
  11. Like I said mate, he's using minority opinions to have a dig at the fans, when there's literally no need. Re the second line, like we're unique in that? Fans of EVERY.SINGLE.CLUB.ON.THE.PLANET won't be happy following defeat and dissect it to the nth degree.
  12. Yes lad, but he's saying those things, like they're widely held opinions en masse, when it's the tiniest minority talking nonsense who aren't even worth talking about. For a comparison, it would be like the MEN reporter talking about the Man United fans that are featured in Paddy Power's 'fan denial'.
  13. He's an absolute whopper that just loves attention. He can't write an article without taking a stupid holier than thou stance against other fans. Feck him, he's not worth our time.
  14. To be fair, I can remember a number of people saying once we canned Allardyce 'At least we might play some good football now'.
  15. Surely though, if he'd changed his stance on boycotting as you would have ultimately hoped he would have done at the time, you'd then be grateful for him joining the effort in helping to boost attendances?
  16. Either way, I'm happy to admit that I've made quite a big error here! You won't get many on here doing that!
  17. The Smiths- William, it was really nothing
  18. Fundamentally, the first part is true, but I've got my doubts that any locally based journalists are on the radio elsewhere putting their key players in the shop window in the same way as our Alan is...... Nixon is such an embittered goon, where we are concerned.
  19. I’ve asked the other mods how to do it as honestly, I don’t know how! If I merge the threads, it does them in time order, so yours won’t be at the front...
  20. That’s my fault mate, I’ve totally cocked it up and merged them the wrong way around.... I’ll copy and paste yours to the front. Sorry again!
  21. I think the talk of a six year deal is a bit OTT. He's done a good job on the whole, but he's not Sir Alex Ferguson! Things can change very quickly in football.
  22. I'm big enough to admit that I wasn't that impressed by his appointment after his most recent previous jobs, but he's surpassed my expectations and not only has he got me loving my football again, but he's got players that are loving being here and a team that we can be proud of. We've got players in the team that we love, instead of a lot of mercenaries like Leon Best, Bradley Orr and others. He deserves immense credit for instilling that identity and mentality back into the club and long may that continue.
  23. Dub Pistols- Give a Little dub
  24. Delighted with the win yesterday, always nice to beat those whoppers! With that being said, I can’t fathom why we bricked it at 1-0 up, sat back and defended for the rest of the game. They were a poor side, a really poor side tbh.
  25. Need to push out and stop sitting so deep here. Amazing save from Raya there!
