  1. Where's that fishing rod emoji?
  2. I think the one thing that unites the fan base is universally trusting Tony Mowbray, to be fair.....
  3. Probably as it's only a loan initially I reckon. In January, if he doesn't thank NFFC, then they'll probably have a point, to be fair....
  4. The irony of bitching about bitching was obviously lost on you there, Rob.
  5. To be honest, the national newspapers barely ever feature Rovers news normally.
  6. To be fair, you can't possibly know whether that is true or not. Unless Mowbray has told you how many players he's allowed to sign on loan before the deadline.....
  7. It's always good to add quality players to the squad, obviously I've no issue with that. But I don't think anyone can deny that we need more quality in areas other than central midfield.....
  8. Thanks for the feedback.... But, if Chaddy or anyone else reported any of these offending posts, action would be taken. If nobody reports anything or we don’t see the offending posts, then how are we to know? Bear in mind all the mods work full time and do this in our own time. Time and again I’ve said that people calling each other happy clappers or overly negative is just a bit pathetic IMO. Why not tell people why you think that? You’ve all got a decent command of the English language, why not express that?
  9. Some of the comments being bandied about are a bit silly. We’re spending the most money we’ve spent on any player for ages on an as yet, largely inexperienced 19 year old. He’s got a lot of potential and I really want him to fulfil that with us. People are still allowed to be cautious about this and it doesn’t make them negative. Like any other fan, I want Brereton to be a success here, like any other signing. I really want to be happy with Rovers and I want the club to compete at as high a level as possible, why on earth wouldn’t I or anyone else want the same? Suggesting otherwise only serves to wind people up and derails threads, as we’ve mentioned before. I still think we are a touch light in wide areas in case of injures and whilst I trust TM, I have concerns about what happens if we pick up injuries, as we have already.
  10. I thought Danny Murphy and Peter Whittingham would be shrewd signings.
  11. I’ll be honest, we were excellent today. Brilliant performance.
  12. That pass from Rothwell was absolutely outrageous. Simply. Lovely.
  13. Think he's at Bolton....
  14. Bellamy was a massive goon, but the second best striker I've seen at Rovers in my lifetime (I'm 34) after Shearer.
  15. Well yeah, that's true. In any event, I'm sure we both agree that he's making a rod (no pun intended) for his own back by setting himself these targets and not meeting them.
  16. I think it was perhaps JH that made the observation initially, but Mowbray isn't helping himself by setting these deadlines, then not delivering signings by said deadline.... (Just in case anyone starts, here's a little disclaimer: I'm fully behind Mowbray, I love the guy, I'm not being negative and have total faith in him.
  17. One of the best Rovers ones I've seen was 'small town, big history' and a picture of all the trophies we've won on the flag, which I thought was smart. Also one with the slogan 'How does it feel?' (Continuing with the New Order theme).
  18. I think it's totally reasonable to say that the lad has it all to prove, let's just hope that he does. I can't see him displacing anyone in the team yet, to be honest. I think it was Revidge (apologies if not) that said if this was the only signing until the end of the window, then we should be disappointed. I think that's also a fair comment. We certainly need plenty of players in other positions as a priority over either of the positions that Jack Rodwell can play in, in any event.
  19. To be fair, how do they know? He hasn’t played for them for ages! Clean slate, if he’s rubbish, then it’s not cost us the earth and he bails at the end of the season....
  20. The contract thing with Sunderland, whilst he probably wasn’t whiter than white with his behaviour there, Sunderland were happy to offer him a huge contract, knowing of his past injury woes. Seemed to me that it wasn’t a case of him refusing to play, more him refusing to walk away from a contract they offered him. Coleman refused to pick him. Anyhow, he’s a lot to prove here and if he turns his career around, we are all winners, if he doesn’t, Well, it’s only a short term deal, so it won’t have cost us too much in the grand scheme of things. As OssyDave said, Sunderland have been a shambles for a bit, so it’s probably not wise to read too much into their views on Rodwell. Time well tell, ultimately...
  21. Go on then, I'll do it! Bristol City though I think, isn't it?
  22. I suppose what's even more confusing is why he needed to announce it on the internet? If it's his 'big bro', surely he'd have his mobile number?
  23. I don't think Rodwell is too bad of an option on a pay-as-you-play until the end of the season on low wages. He's obviously lost his way a bit and Mowbray seems to like a challenge. Re his time at Sunderland- they signed him on a daft contract, it takes two to tango.... With all that being said, I wouldn't want him as our only signing!
