I think it was perhaps JH that made the observation initially, but Mowbray isn't helping himself by setting these deadlines, then not delivering signings by said deadline.... (Just in case anyone starts, here's a little disclaimer: I'm fully behind Mowbray, I love the guy, I'm not being negative and have total faith in him.

Flag ideas and 'New Order' connection
K-Hod replied to Neal's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
One of the best Rovers ones I've seen was 'small town, big history' and a picture of all the trophies we've won on the flag, which I thought was smart. Also one with the slogan 'How does it feel?' (Continuing with the New Order theme). -
I think it's totally reasonable to say that the lad has it all to prove, let's just hope that he does. I can't see him displacing anyone in the team yet, to be honest. I think it was Revidge (apologies if not) that said if this was the only signing until the end of the window, then we should be disappointed. I think that's also a fair comment. We certainly need plenty of players in other positions as a priority over either of the positions that Jack Rodwell can play in, in any event.

To be fair, how do they know? He hasn’t played for them for ages! Clean slate, if he’s rubbish, then it’s not cost us the earth and he bails at the end of the season....
-
The contract thing with Sunderland, whilst he probably wasn’t whiter than white with his behaviour there, Sunderland were happy to offer him a huge contract, knowing of his past injury woes. Seemed to me that it wasn’t a case of him refusing to play, more him refusing to walk away from a contract they offered him. Coleman refused to pick him. Anyhow, he’s a lot to prove here and if he turns his career around, we are all winners, if he doesn’t, Well, it’s only a short term deal, so it won’t have cost us too much in the grand scheme of things. As OssyDave said, Sunderland have been a shambles for a bit, so it’s probably not wise to read too much into their views on Rodwell. Time well tell, ultimately...

Go on then, I'll do it! Bristol City though I think, isn't it?
-
I suppose what's even more confusing is why he needed to announce it on the internet? If it's his 'big bro', surely he'd have his mobile number?
-
I don't think Rodwell is too bad of an option on a pay-as-you-play until the end of the season on low wages. He's obviously lost his way a bit and Mowbray seems to like a challenge. Re his time at Sunderland- they signed him on a daft contract, it takes two to tango.... With all that being said, I wouldn't want him as our only signing!
-
Yet you also said recently that you thought Travis should stay here and be in the squad.....

People rightly picking up on the quality of Evans' performances. I think he's been really good this season, picking up from where he left off last season. He can be a frustrating player at times, but when he plays like he does last night, he's a vital part of this team IMO.
-
To be fair, in the past, he's usually qualified this with 'From Rich Sharpe' or 'from Nicko'. But not on this occasion, which led me to query, did he mistakenly omit this?

You've posted the above like you know it's fact. Is that the case? Fair play if it is like, but it's the kind of post that will get people's backs up if you're as in the know as the rest of us (I.E not at all).

Maybe start slowly was the wrong phrase, but even so, we were 0-2 down at HT with a mountain to climb, which luckily we did.
-
He was fantastic tonight. Really enjoyed watching his performance. He was everywhere, strong running, good tackling, solid with his passing and can get forward and shoot. Excellent all around performance. Hopefully this is just the start. How we’ve missed midfielders like this in blue and white!
-
Rothwell was outstanding all match. Nyambe and Evans very good in second half. Bennett improved in second half. It really was a game of two halves and I’m so glad we didn’t lose tbh, but it doesn’t make it any less frustrating that we’ve gone in 2-0 down at half time and started a game so slowly AGAIN! We just need lots of bodies in and fast. Particularly if the injuries keep on piling up (especially at this early stage).

Ha, that’s near where I sit....

Samuel off injured now. Absolutely threadbare, our squad.

By an absolute mile.

Now, our quickest player has gone off, to be replaced by our slowest. Wonderful. By the way, if anyone thinks we don’t need new players, you’re off your head.
-
Rothwell the only shining light this half. I think I’d rather take a tumble off the top of Accy Arndale than endure any more of this. Might have a pint at half time. Does anyone know if we do cyanide?

To be fair to Evans, he stopped it being 0-3 ?
