  1. Why not? We are playing the mighty newly promoted Charlton who seem to have worse defensive problems them us. Surely, Graham and Tony's near £15million trio of Brereton, Armstrong and Gallagher will be capable of blasting them away.
  2. IMO, bullsh1t, bullsh1t and more bullsh1t. Beggars belief. I don't think Mowbray has a plan or a clue what will happen next.
  3. Let's hope Mowbray's comments prove nearer the mark than those in Blues back in Feb.. Talk is cheap.
  4. Where did I say I have bet on relegation? All I did is state the range of odds and say 'only flutter for me would be 13/2 on relegation' You have a way of twisting words to meet your own ends. As far Charlton, Mowbray has spent close on £15million of fire power in 12 months (Brereton, Armstrong and Gallagher) to supplement Graham, so if we can't blow Charlton away, it's time he went.
  5. Come on Philipl, if we really can't see off Charlton comfortably then we really are screwed!
  6. No ifs, no buts, Charlton should be like lambs to the slaughter. They are newly promoted and seem to have more defensive problems than even us. It has to be a home banker. Highly likely we will concede so it's just a question of how may goals we can rattle in. Piled on at evens for Rovers win and a 'fun' bet of Rovers to win 4-1 at 45/1.
  7. Have said for some time that, IMO, we are severely undermanaged. Yes you need the right number of people in the right roles but, more importantly, you need the right quality! I look at our executive management and the management/coaches on ther football side and to be brutally honest, if it was down to me, I'd sack the feckin lot with the exception of Johnno.
  8. Quite right. You loan players out for game time and experience. It also helps if the manager plays them in their rightful position! Don't think Mowbray's management of loan players is great and this will have not gone unnoticed at clubs like City.
  9. Maybe the lad hasn't got it and isn't good enough - just like Brereton, IMO. Given Wharton's been in and around the first team squad for 3 years or more now, I feel he should have been given more opportunity. If it's felt he's not good enough, why the feck give him a new contract? It should be simple enough even for the likes of Mowbray and Waggott who, IMO, demonstrate by the day/week/month they are not up to the job.
  10. I think we are a club devoid of commercial nous. I've said before, IMO, Waggott has brought very little to the table to improve our club. At best, Wharton should have been offered no more than a one year contract with a further year's option. If he didn't like it then he knew where the door was. At 21/22, I think it's plain to see he's not going to make it as a Championship player. To me, his development has stalled in the last three years but to be fair to the lad, I think Rovers management of this lad's potential has been abysmal.
  11. As I posted yesterday, I think it's a case of no more fees or wages unless matched by equal or greater outgoings. I think we are financially hamstrung which questions the wisdom of shelling out £5million on Gallagher when clearly there were far more bigger priorities. Brereton revisited........................................
  12. Not surprised with LT article and Mowbray's comments. Bottom line - don't think there's a pot to p1ss in for transfers and the Brereton farce has screwed us big time. After what Mowbray said at Blues to where we are now is, IMO, a complete and utter farce. We need a manger who knows the market and can work it. Have a great weekend all!
  13. Have a word with your bookie! PaddyP, Skybet and WH all offer 16/1.
  14. It's quite a range of odds: Championship winner: 33 to 53/1 Top 2: 16/1 though Betfair will give you either 53/1 or 150/1 dependent upon whether you go through their Sportsbook or Exchange Top 6: 4 to 6/1 Relegation: 9/2 to 13/2 Only flutter for me would be 13/2 on relegation.
  15. I think Rovers are now working on the basis that every £1 spent on either fees or wages has to be matched by £1 fee in or reduction in wages. If I am right, and I think it's an 80%er, it would account for the lack of activity inwards at the moment.
  16. I think he makes it up as he goes along. IMO, his credibility is falling like a stone. As Lincoln said "you can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time but you can't fool all the people all the time" Wake up Mowbray.
  17. Think his pension fund will be growing nicely though! Nice work if you can get it.
  18. Feckin ridiculous. I remember the famous Boxing Day fixture where we did Burnley 3-2 at The Turf and a certain Keith Fear notched on his debut for us - if I recall correctly, none of the fans there realised we'd even signed him!!! Suspect he might have met his new colleagues in the dressing room pre match!!!
  19. Totally ridiculous. You simply don't go 'window shopping' at Harrods with a Home Bargains' budget.
  20. So, that's Williams and Davenport crocked whilst according to the LT, Chapman's 'fitness is being monitored having featured in just one behind closed doors game so far'. Davenport and Chapman all reminiscent of Vince Grella whilst when did Gladwin last kick a ball for us? We need robust individuals who we can rely upon being fit for 90% of games. We should not be signing accidents waiting to happen!
  21. I am not going to try and defend Coyle's Rovers' tenure as manager. For Coyle, I think his managerial career nosedived after his first eighteen months at Bolton. The point I was trying to make, however, was that eight of last season's 'mainstays' were here under Coyle and he signed three of them for Rovers on permanent deals (Mulgrew, Graham and Williams). Who knows where we would have been without Graham and to a lesser extent Mulgrew - even Williams has had his moments with us (player of the season in 2016/17 and a strong end to last season at centre back). Add to those three the loan signing of Sam Gallagher (questionable Mowbray would have even heard of the lad if he hadn't have been here on loan firstly under Coyle) who Mowbray has seemingly just blown our transfer budget on and sold Raya to help finance. So you could argue that Mowbray has been largely reliant upon a good part of Coyle's team and signings. As for Mowbray, apart from Dack and possibly Rothwell, it is difficult to argue that his player trading is anything better than average at best.
  22. Look, Coyle didn't deliver at Rovers but by and large, much of last season's team and promising Academy youngsters were all here when Mowbray arrived. Mowbray has given us Dack with Rothwell also showing much promise. Other than that, his player trading, IMO, is p1ss poor - £7+million spunked away on Brereton, Raya sold only to see Walton and possibly Eastwood to come in to replace, add an array of over 30's in Downing, Johnson and possibly Adam and it's stuff that doesn't get my pulse racing.
