  1. Past hour
  2. Plus Robertson and Tierney. They do have a few good ones. Up front however it looks nearly as bad as us.
  3. On Football Manager, many years ago, there was an almost unbeatable formation: 4-1-3-2, except the 3 were CMs (1 DM with 3 CMs sat in front of them). Maybe Scotland should try that.
  4. They have 4 really strong players in McTominay and Gilmour at Napoli, McGinn at Villa and Ferguson who has also done really well in Serie A. Unfortunately for them they all are central midfielders.
  5. Do you think we know that the transfer window closes four hours earlier than normal next Monday at 7p.m.?
  6. I think Tronstad deserves a mention as he stood out, just behind Cantwell for man of the match. He was brilliant, snuffed everything out for them and was really composed on the ball setting up attacks. I certainly am not seeing a better defender in Alebiosu compared to Brittain who really improved his one on one defending. Alebiosu often gets caught out of position although sometimes his recovery pace will help him out there to clean up. I also have never been totally convinced by Ribeiro and personally prefer Pickering but I thought he had a really solid game at left back on Saturday which deserves praise.
  7. It does warm my soul to know England are competing for European and World Cup finals and that Scottish team would struggle in the Championship.
  8. I was actually going to say - George Hirst - are they that desperate?
  9. That's a bit sudden....... Suddenly pushing to get restrictions removed in time for a last minute splurge in the transfer window? ....... Then the alarm went off................. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  10. Was just about to post that ๐Ÿ˜‰ Also, how does Grant Hanley still keep getting called up? He has hardly played for the past couple of years
  11. Don't know if it's the same everywhere but in this Country, instead of trying to make things happen, everyone is absolutely obsessed with possession stats and not giving the ball away or "turning over possession" as is the modern lingo. Maybe if Dolan is encouraged to take his man on a bit more over there and/or cross whenever he gets an opportunity we might see an even more effective player than we had here.
  12. If we're comparing Dolan and Buckley, as someone else pointed out a while ago, in early 2020 Dolan was out on loan at Clitheroe and now he's playing in La Liga, so whatever the experts on here who think he's "an instagrammable Ryan Hedges" might say, he must be doing something right. Buckley on the other hand was apparently seen within the Club at one time as our "next ยฃ10m player" and bagged himself a bumper five year deal off Broughton since which time he's disappeared off the face of the earth. Buckley is probably also the more naturally talented of the two but just looks like he doesn't enjoy playing professional football. I really can't understand how Dolan, whose attitude was always exemplary, and who has made the absolute most of his abilities, cops so much flak whereas Buckley who appears to have completely wasted his, gets relatively little.
  13. Hyam named in the Scotland squad. Good news for Rovers, should add a few quid on to his sale price.
  14. As a Texan American, I enjoy seeing other Americans perform well, just not against Rovers. ๐Ÿ˜„
  15. Probably silly of us to be comparing some or the lads who've left from the ones who came in. Those who've left have experience in this league, those who've come in don't and have very different qualities... That said, I don't think anyone can argue that the lads who've come in have far more potential to improve.
  16. Today
  17. Also surely would need the likes of Hyam and Tronstad to be signed up.
  18. We won't get that space against Norwich, let's not get our heads in the clouds, and give it 100%.
  19. I'd 100% rather have Dolan and Brittain vs Alebiosu and De Neve. Which is no slight on the boys. McLaughlin vs Batth seems closer, but I saw Batth for 35+ games vs 3 for Sean. I'd call it a wash, but Sean is younger and looked the part after 270 mins. Henricksson and Baradji vs JRC and Buckley isn't even close without seeing much or any of the two new guys. The departing two offered nothing barring being academy graduates. Tavares vs Bradford was excellent, seems extremely raw beyond that... give me Travis. Miller I dont really have a 1:1 comparison, but good addition. Morishita should an excellent addition to replace Weimann etc. Pears and Leonard out for New GK2 and New CF will almost certainly make us better. Though the aim should be a starting forward and not a like for like replacement for Leonard. Mixed bag for sure, but for me an A+ summer would have been the ones in bold vs the actual business.
  20. Yes Hedges had a good all round performance and took his goal expertly. BUT He did miss two other chances he should have scored from AND He had screwed his shot well wide from Todd's sensational reversed free kick until Ohashi's tummy saved his blushes. Incidentally the sight of Yuki berating the 4th Official about the Hull scoreboard will outlive even the memory of the 3-0 win!
  21. Let's hope we can get our 1st home win of the season, to send you home happy.
  22. We offered the same length of deal that they signed at Derby. The idea that they wanted more than 1 year seemingly was a myth that was created to justify it. The issue is that no one will sign a new deal. Still overshadows any transfer business.
  23. Norwich will be a tougher test than Hull. I would reward the team that won at Hull, by starting the same team. I'm not making any predictions, mine always go pear shaped. If we can get our first win at home of the season, we'll be gathering a bit of momentum.
  24. I think Kargbo needs to play around an hour of every match up to and including Wrexham on New Yearโ€™s Day to reach the conversion threshold.
  25. That's football, the best 11 form players get the nod. When the players on the bench get their chance, grab it with both arms.
  26. Yep, however I didnโ€™t disagree with the club only offering Batth and Wiemann short deals and within the wage cap. Wiemann in particular for me, would have been in the โ€˜experienced help for the younger playersโ€™ mould. Whether the wage cap overall is a good idea, is another argument. They did leave holes but think McLouglin was an excellent piece of business, as was Miller. We really need another striker though.
