Well, transfer window went from a let's wait and see how the new guys do - to an absolute disaster. We were already weak at centre half without selling our most consistent and experienced defender. I appreciate £2.7m for Hyam with only a year left on his contract was in isolation a good deal - but not just before the window closes and not to a league rival.

I cannot believe I'm saying this, but if Hyam is out the door Rudy is much worse than Swag. At least Swag understood you can't sell the entire core of your team in one window and expect to be competitive, even if it did mean losing someone on a free in the following window. I cannot remember a time where there was such player unrest that we sold a core group.
