  1. Past hour
  2. Historically a business was valued at 3.5x its yearly profits. That grew in some instances to 6x its profits post covid. We lose circa 20 million per year. Whatever you pay, add 400k a week on immediately if buying the Rovers. The decent thing would be to release the club at no charge to someone willing to fund the debt and invest.
  3. QPR deserved the win, no question about that. They played with a higher tempo, were able to string a few passes together and had an attacking midfield trio (Chair, Dembele, Saito) who could carry the ball forward and cause problems. We looked devoid of any ideas other than utilising Alebiosu's pace on the right hand side to break through lines and put crosses into the box. Some other takeaways from our 'gameplan': - Doesn't work playing with two strikers at the moment. Ismael wants to be more direct but it comes at the expense of giving up control in midfield. Morishita likes to drift to the right hand side but Hedges becomes isolated on the left once first line of press from Ohashi and Gudjohnsen is played through. - We barely got any momentum throughout the whole game. A lot of clearances, long balls, misplaced passes and low tempo whenever in possession. Miller was particularly wasteful. Transfer worries: - New signings De Neve and Morishita lacks game intelligence. De Neve missed to pick up Smyth twice inside the box, one led to the winning goal and the other resulted in an effort that hit the post. Morishita keeps blocking Alebiosu's path forward when in possession. - Gudjohnsen missed two good chances to score. Weak in the challenges otherwise, need to 'bulk up' and add a few more pounds of muscle in the gym. - Tavares is now apparently behind both Montgomery and Forshaw in the pecking order. Money wasted if he doesn't improve. - Miller needs to improve his technique and passing game. - Our 'spine' (goalkeeper, central defence, central midfield) is weak at the moment. Small part of it can be excused due to injuries but failed recruitment strategy in the transfer market is the main culprit here.
  4. It’s a midweek in December for a side in 18th who can’t win at home, I wouldn’t be able to give my ST away to a pal, never mind get a tenner out of them. It’s an offer they’ve tried at least three times before for night games, they don’t work as floating fans aren’t interested in them.
  5. They will be able to take their pick of where they want to sit
  6. My money is on him being a Sidnei clone... Hope I am wrong!
  7. Is the friend going to be able to sit next to the season ticket holder? Asking for a friend.
  8. I think they are trying to head off a disastrous actual bums on seats attendance and try to cover match costs at the same time.
  9. It should be "Bring a friend for free" or at most a fiver. The red button costs nowt if you already have Sky or Virgin.
  10. They can only say i told you so if they have the opportunity. How anyone can turn their nose up at £10 is beyond me we really are proving the constant shit passionless support' jibes true if there's less than 10k home fans in for this. Not that it'll happen but if every ST holder got another non holder to buy one there's potential for 16-18 thousand home fans. That would make a change from the usual eerie bollocks and should give the team a bit of a lift. As it is i'll settle for ten thousand on instead of 6 or 7k !
  11. You seem to be on one at the moment about the crowds. I have to say that isn't a particularly enticing offer. Id almost go as far as to say they're making offers they know won't be particularly successful so they can say "Told you so".
  12. Ive never understood why people think that anyone has to excuse themselves should they not buy a ticket for a football game.
  13. That's the score that I was thinking. We won't keep winning away and I think we'll get a hammering soon enough.
  14. ‘Bring a friend for a X’ has never worked before and it certainly won’t work at the moment with that home form.
  15. No idea. They paid £23m for it didn't they? (and assumed the £15m bank overdraft) so with the debt waived Id assume they'd want more than that. The going rate for Championship Clubs seems to be £40 - £50m these days with the possibility of promotion to the Prem, however remote.
  16. They see the value of their ‘investment’ (£220 million at the last count) and the value of the club as the same thing. This, as you allude to, is absolute nonsense.
  17. I was watching an episode of the premiership on youtube a while back, every pass forward, people running at players, 2 up top, barely a refs whistle stopping play every 5 seconds. Its like a different sport.
  18. They don't look at club value they seem to look at their company balance sheet where it's worth 150 million to them. And of course the fact that one promotion however fanciful it might seem wipes that out and staying in the Prem would deliver a profit. Fantasy stuff obviously but they probably are fantasists.
  19. Mike Ashley trying to buy Wednesday. Christ, could you imagine. We finally get rid of Venky's and then he schleps up.
  20. Today
  21. Good effort fair play they are listening even it it's a bit of a free hit because it's a second running of the same game. Bums on seats please, no excuses support the team regardless of what happens at Wrexham otherwise they'll not do offers. Prove it works and stick it up em.
  22. What price would they ask for? What price would be fair? Ashley has just had a £ 20 million bid for Wednesday turned down. There is an argument to state that the club is largely worthless. But normal rules dont seem to apply to football.
  23. They’ve already got this season’s season ticket money - a boycott of next season’s season tickets would definitely make waves. That is the only metric that seems to resonate with Suhail.
  24. If we carry on in the current vein at home for the rest of the season we'd end up with about 12 points from our 23 home games. Meaning we'd need at least 38 points from our 23 away games to be reasonably confident of staying up. I'd imagine that's something akin to automatic promotion form or even better required away from home.
  25. Probably not the right thread but as good as any.... A thought has crossed my mind, are Rovers in more financial strife than we realise? It feels to me that the discounts on shirts, clothing ranges, hospitality and other areas are significantly more prevalent than they have been before. There's also the recent oddly structured flexible ticket, weirdness around a 150th anniversary shirt, cost cutting on the anniversary celebration itself. We're used to ridiculousness over the last 15yrs but that's never translated yet to what appears to be a desperate need to get cash into the club. Throw in the relatively recent apparent finalisation of a court case, possible venkys share price drop and what can only be described as a complete reluctance to hire a CEO and I just wonder if things are worse then we know
  26. I wholly agree about his arrogance. I could live with that if he was getting results but at home we are a million miles off it. His comments about Carter and Gueye plus threatening to walk out of a press conference because he was asked about relegation are not the traits of humility.
  27. He's just bang average working with a light bang average squad. When everyone is fit and the opposition is similar we'll get some results but whenever people are missing or questions are asked by another side that need answering he won't deliver. As pointed out his core style is more suited to counter attacking away from home and we have no flair whatsoever at home. Hopefully adding the set piece coach starts to add something regularly at both ends.
