  1. Past hour
  2. He can't do anything right on a football pitch. Thats the issue. He isn't being scapegoated. People are just sick of seeing an incompetent and lazy player come on and offer nothing. He is terrible.
  3. To varying degrees. Alebiosu has been consistently very good. Gudjohnsen might not offer much in general play but strikers need to score goals and he keeps getting them, another success. The others are much more mixed. Morishita flits in and out, has ability but often ineffective. McLoughlin is average. Miller can be decent but has a mistake in him and is poor on the ball. TGH, barely average. Forshaw has done well in the last 2 although last night only lasted 55 minutes and youd be hard pushed to suggest hes been a success overall. The thing is, we have signed far too many who are not only underwhelming, they are absolutely nowhere near it. A squad cant afford to have so many players signed that are as bad as some of ours are. You often resort to suggesting that people are negative out of desperation. I can say that there were elements of our performance that were good last night. Contrary to your suggestion on the Ismael thread, I was also very annoyed to see only a yellow card shown when I think it had to be a red card. Im not going to parrot Ismael and imply that referees favour Ipswich, thats conspiracy nonsense. And I dont think Ohashi should have had a penalty, as much as I would have taken it. But we were hard done by with the missed red card, it was poor officiating. There isnt going to be a sudden influx of brilliant referees, the only realistic solution to such situations would be VAR. All of that to me is outweighed by the annoyance I felt coming away having seen us chuck away 2 points, conceding late AGAIN, watching the same horrendous subs (obviously not Cantwell) look out of their depth. Red card or no red card, we had the lead going into injury time, and under our control, we managed to fuck it up. You like Ismael seem keen to gloss over that completely and pin all of the blame on the referee, going down the woe is me route. We still had the win in our hands and threw it away. Again. Thats the concern to me, and thats the route of most of my annoyance.
  4. I had a feeling gudjonson would score a load of goals for us. I can't see him being here next season
  5. You cite several reasons for it not to be a sending off and then say 'just about a red'. For it to be 'just about a red' the criteria you mention has to be fulfilled. I'm confused by your rationale.
  6. I hope Ipswich miss out on the play-offs by 2 points
  7. Enough in that last game and previous matches to go out and win a game now.
  8. You've cited a load of criteria there and none of them really support your case for it being a red, it was a long way out, Moreshita was out to the side and not clean through centrally on goal, neither did he have the ball properly under control, and Davis was in the vicinity, might or might not have got back. I thought it was probably just about a red but it wasn't as clear cut as many are making out. You've done the ref's job for him there illustrating reasons why it was legitimate NOT to give a red.
  9. Let's just get over it, concentrate on Saturdays game and win it.
  10. He is going to get to the ball first and the likelihood of him controlling the ball was high. Likelihood of keeping or gaining control: Whether the attacker would have been able to control the ball.
  11. Yep, to the outsider these owners are probably the very definition of ideal - pour tons of money in, don't interfere and in it for the long haul. We're in a decreasing minority in recognising the immense long term lasting damage this is doing. Quite a few others know about it - the dozens of players and staff who have escaped it at the first opportunity - fortunately for them there's no local or emotional attachment to contend with and they can simply secure employment elsewhere
  12. Which is why it can’t be a red. Morishita never had the ball under control, so anything could have happened, therefore it wasn’t a goal scoring opportunity.
  13. I do know because I have been told by someone still involved. The key word is denial and I don't think anyone can say he wasn't denied an obvious goal scoring opportunity.
  14. You are making assumptions again. No U turn here, I still think he is aloof and arrogant but on this occasion I believe he is right. Sometime being objective is the best course of action - you should try it.
  15. The fact is no one knows. He could of taken a touch inside and cut off the defender that chance was taken away. Personally a red though on the wire
  16. Whilst I agree, the screenshot is irrelevant. It only becomes relevant once Morishita has the ball under control.
  17. He said he thought Davies would have got to the ball.
  18. That's some u turn from you arbitro! What happened to "Mr Aloof" and Mr. "Arrogant"? The fact Vince Viley is such a poor manager is absolutely the point. That's why we're not winning any (or at least many) football matches. We can't defend properly, we don't create anywhere near enough chances and his substitutions frequently cost us the game. It's nothing whatsoever to do with poor officiating. Decisions go for and against you all the time. It may be we're temporarily not getting the rub of the green but that's irrelevant -you have to get on with it and do your job properly. Complete excuse culture down there. Strip the squad to the bone then complain about injuries. Find yourselves unable to win a home game or hold onto a lead, turn the blame onto the officials. It's absolutely nauseating. Wonder what the excuses for Saturday will be? Vince must be hard at work already adding them to his "list".
  19. I think distance to goal is the main contributing factor in the refs decision
  20. Enlighten me. Which two? Distance to goal: The distance between the foul and the goal. General direction of play: The attacker's direction and position relative to the goal. Likelihood of keeping or gaining control: Whether the attacker would have been able to control the ball. Location and number of defenders: The positions and number of defenders between the attacker and the goal.
  21. Simply a must win. There can be no excuses for this one. I imagine it'll be the same starting XI again. Cantwell to probably get a bit more time off the bench. Rovers 2 - 1 Wednesday. I don't think it'll be comfortable.
  22. 4 pieces of criteria for it to be DOGSO & 2 of them aren't met
  23. Not for me, just seen it back. He certainly didn't drop a shoulder and cut inside, he just passed it first time into the far corner because our left sided player (De Neve) was nowhere near him.
  24. Another Tronstad then. 😉
