  2. Re Pears - just adding my thoughts, it was never simply the Wigan gaffe that caused my own dislike of him, it is the constant nervousness he passes on to the defence, especially under pressure. Especially when JDT made him have the most touches per game after dropping Kaminski, a horrible time to watch rovers. I had empathy with Pears, he should’ve never been in that situation but that might also be down to my hatred of this modern trend in football for the keeper to be basically a sweeper. The run of games with the fuckup vs Sheffield Wednesday. Seasons all blend into one for me nowadays, so I’m not sure what season it was - I particularly remember that goal he concedes vs Preston at home was just typical weak arse goalkeeping. No personality and I can’t see him getting better. It’s early days with Toth but Id go that way as I personally see far more potential.
  3. Phenomenal job by Pears to keep them out though given that's his usual challenge when goalkeeping
  4. As we all expected, probably after realising that actual quality costs money, we give Forshaw another year. A player we released but all predicted would return. Not good enough. I did enjoy this line, playing us for fools: He becomes Rovers’ second signing of the summer, following the arrival of Belgian winger Dion De Neve earlier this month.
  5. Foreshaw signed on for another year. Forgive my excitement, it's hard to control myself.
  6. You tell us the kind of contract you think Dolan, Brereton, Rothwell, Lenihan would’ve signed.
  7. But if that pattern continues, it will only end up one way…
  8. Today
  9. Good day all! I know I may not be everyones cup of tea but I come to you in hope - I have started an over ambitious project in order to celebrate Blackburn Rovers 150th anniversary hoping to wrangle 150 Blackburn Rovers fans to record a special Blackburn Rovers memory - whether it was a match, a player, a goal or just an occasion. I am looking for one memory for one day as we edge closer to November 5th to celebrate Rovers founding. Why am I here? Well I hope I can convince at least one of you to submit your own memory. Nothing fancy or spectacular required - just a recorded video of you reliving your Blackbun Rovers experience. If this is not for you - I dont blame you - however if you want to help in acheiving this goal of getting some fans together to celebrate something special then please drop your Rovers memory here: https://cutt.ly/brfcmem Hoping for a year to remember and would love to hear your Blackburn Rovers memories. Regards Dirk
  10. He is a much better goalkeeper than Pears. Has played in the top flight in Belgium and here. Also been in multiple national team squads. I was a big JDT fan but he wouldn't be have been coaching in the championship or for a small nation like Sweden if his decision making was impeccable
  11. I wouldn't be paying a million quid for a keeper who was kept out by Pears.
  12. Yep, no doubt he’s been a disgraceful owner. However, you can forsee a day when he’s fucked off, whereas here…
  13. Roy Keane had it right. They are overrated.
  14. Clearly we tried with a poor offer not up to scratch otherwise he would have signed. It should never have to this. But now it has. Even if he has said he wants to look around. A club with a shred of ambition wouldnt respond with the attitude of "ok we will leave you to it." They would say heres an improved concrete offer before you go, we are desperate for you to stay. Stop swallowing every bit of shite that comes out of the club.
  15. Bit overkill having a barbecue each day.
  16. Luton will want more than a million for Kaminski so it won't be happening. When did we last pay more than £1 million on a signing? The window we signed Hyam and Szmodic 3 summers ago
  17. What’s your favourite barbecue item?
  18. we were last summer weaker when they came back to pre season and look at the season we had. just missed out on playoffs. Just enjoying this wonderful weather, being off work and having barbecues each day
  19. Been going on since the latter few years of Mowbrays time in terms of the silly names linked which we know they will just not pay for. It's even sillier now throwing several names out every day that might cost money or good wages when everything else the club is doing screams of downgrading and cost cutting. Muppets still fall for it though.
  20. He’d probably quadruple his money even if that was the only offer so sure he won’t be crying about it.
  21. Have you ever thought maybe Dolan wants to test the market and see what is out there hence we haven't offer a contract. Gregg Broughton tried during his time but Dolan and his agent didn't want to agree to one whatever that offer was and he got contracts done like he did. We will put another contract offer in front before end of this month. It could be the only offer he gets or he might have others like Norwich City, we will see shortly
  22. Edit---further whoops--apologies to those who beat me to it! 🥴
  23. We will be continually linked with players we have no intention of signing throughout the entire Transfer Window. This is a distraction tactic they have been using for years now. Not worth discussing 95% of them.
  24. Well obviously that's what we have to do. As things stand right now, just over a week from returning to pre season training, we are weaker than last season. I will be amazed if that isn't also the case some September 1st.
