v Sheffield Wednesday (a) - 29/12/2025
philipl replied to JHRover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Won't be easy especially with all our absences likely increased by the Boro game but we really need to grind out a win at Hillsborough. Thankfully we still have several options to select from and I suspect more youngsters will be getting more match time. For Wednesday, every game is a free hit so they will make for unusual opposition but they have enough players who are not Championship level for this to be all about us being clinical in exploiting their slip ups. -
As welcome as it is, one win doesn’t change anything.

Same old recycled comments. No-one standards have dropped but you enjoyed dropping these sort of comments very rich coming from you given you don't rate our second best player in Tronstad. How that's for standards? -
hence why I ask who decision it was and no-one can say for sure can we?

Well well, England win our first test in Australia for 14 years, yes 14 years. Maybe this will calm everyone down who is demanding change and actually instead of wanting to rip up our management team and captain, we look into our preparations for this series, the squad pick, etc. A full and proper review need to be done into everything including the County cricket structure. Pleased that England supporters out in Australia have seen a win finally. Michael Vaughan tweeted a few hours ago that this pitch is disgrace and not suitable to test cricket. Aussie wickets used to be hard and fast with spinner coming into the play on day 4 or 5, Wonder why they have changed the wickets they actually prepare off site and drop in.

Another away result in our favour- However it’s not a win but a clean sheet with Pears in goal (!!) there were times in recent seasons where a win at Middlesbrough was almost expected how times (and expectations ) have changed edging closer to every rovers fan favourite time of the year, what madness will they try and spin this time -

Chaddy buzzes off anything a manager or Gestede rates. If we're linked with a player he'll suddenly say that he would recommend said player. The time of day given is mental to me. Made even more frustrating that he has me on ignore -

We have to take risks with our signings because we have zero money. We are always going to have a lengthy injury list. Its no accident! -

Im quite happy to judge it at the end of the season. I wasn't the one who brought Eustace up or bizarrely started slagging him off when he has them above us in the League. -

They are 6 points ahead of us and we have a game In hand. They have had injuries but not to the extent we have we also led in two games that were abandoned. Iv said before they most likely will but you are talking like it's a done deal and they have been way better than us so far this season which isn't the case -

Was the Clifford one the one on Baradji at Preston? Not that it matters but whilst they were both the most obvious reds you'll ever see I thought the one today was a petulant swipe whereas the one on Baradji was a real career ender potentially. -

This guy is in Swedish Allsvenskan as well but way better. Plays as a winger for Hammarby but likes to cut inside using his preferred left foot. 50% successful dribbles leaves him in the top percentile among first division players in Europe. Would fit in if we were to play a 3-4-2-1 formation with him as one of the two attacking midfielders. Kind of what Mbuemo has been doing for United. Currently valued around €3-4 million according to Transfermarkt and Fotmob. -

I never mentioned Eustace at all originally, you were the one who brought him up. To be accurate I actually stated with some certainty that Derby would finish above us this season and you stated with equal certainty the opposite. Look Im sorry for you that 10 months after he left, you're still so bitter that a former manager who actually did really well for us looks set to have Derby finishing 10-12 points ahead of us over the course of the full season this time round but it's no more his fault now than it was when he left. Your ire should be directed solely at the owners and their henchmen. Not Eustace. -

Given that our record over the the last 4 seasons with or without either player is: 2022/23 (Travis/No Tronstad) 7th 2023/24 (Tronstad/Mainly no Travis) Stayed up on last day of season 2024/25 (Tronstad and Travis) 7th 2025/26 (Tronstad/No Travis) Sat 4 points outside the relationship zone after half a season I've really no idea! Perhaps not even very good Head Coaches can get everything right? He obviously didnt rate him highly enough to take him with him to Derby though.
