  1. Past hour
  2. I wouldn't disagree with making Travis top earner and I also wouldn't disagree with giving Dolan ยฃ15k p.w. I suspect the figures quoted are in the right ball park. I'd be amazed if we're offering Dolan more than ยฃ10k p.w. if that.
  3. Did someone on this forum just say "maybe Pasha should be CEO"? The only man with a real direct link to Venkys. Must genuinely believe that he's been a COO for the last few years ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  4. Yes we've signed a couple of players who allegedly fit the narrative thats been put about - and one who most certainly doesnt. There's little point discussing signings with you chadster, we could sign literally anyone and you'd be happy with it. If we don't sign anyone that's also always the right decision as well. And you always dismiss any player who signs for another Club as crap. The most recent case in point is Batth/ Weimann / Forshaw. Because we-ve actually gone and re-signed 33 year old Forshaw you're happy with that but you're seemingly not in favour of re-signing 33 year old Weimann or 34 year old Batth on account of their age. However in the unlikely event we did persuade either to re-sign I'm sure you'd be delighted again and declare them excellent signings.
  5. Iโ€™ll see if I can find a sweepstake host website type thing now
  6. The common consensus on Batth was that he was outstanding all season. So how has his departure raised his stock?
  7. https://salarysport.com/football/player/tyrhys-dolan/ https://salarysport.com/football/player/todd-cantwell/ https://salarysport.com/football/player/lewis-travis/ Certainly worth taking a handful of salt with this but I would say these are close, the Cantwell one as an example of what our top earners are on, and Travis as an example based on another going into his final year. The question I would ask everyone on BRFCS, what would you offer him based on those examples of our structure? I personally would be happy to see Dolan on a 15k a week 3 year deal, but I wouldnโ€™t put him in top earner category. Incidentally - Iโ€™d make Travis top earner personally! A couple of examples from the championship, similar age and experience, attackers who went to a parachute teams last season; Both Callum O Hare and Tyrese Campbell went to Sheff United last season for free for 15k (according to the same basic AI Research) I would bet that the signing on fees are very different mind!
  8. Whatever date his contract expires. He'll want that ยฃ600k p.a. for as long as possible. Who do I send my quid to? Lol.
  9. It's like that anyway and i suppose Dolan was looking at people like Cantwell and saying i contribute more than him. It's more likely the recruitment dept have just been told to look at players on ยฃ10k pwk or less salary range.
  10. I dont know but I'd wager he's on a very low wage at the moment relatively speaking. I'd assume he was after something like parity with other senior members of the squad and we're trying to lowball him.
  11. Lightening the mood sweepstake anyone for date VI walks away? ยฃ1 entry closest to the date wins the pot
  12. Christ this is escalating... My point is saying Mercer a troll account, purely for the fact that he's on repeat every year saying players they arnt good enough...Wonder what he thought of Baath and Weimann signing last year? Hmm
  13. Aye, there's nothing like an imminent departure to raise a player's stock. It's like Jackanory on here this time of year.
  14. Oh come on, you spend a hundred words on dissecting players and other decisions but canโ€™t even offer more than a sentence on a simple question? it doesnโ€™t matter though, because we both know that being able to offer competitive wages for the players at the top of the championship normally requires that 45m+ parachute payment, a high turnover and/or ambitious owners. We donโ€™t have any of those three things.
  15. Personally I feel we're scraping the bottom of an extremely deep barrel with these signings but you're right, have to give them a chance etc etc. On the other hand just because certain players who might not have looked very promising when they were signed last year might have exceeded expectations, doesn't mean that this year's seemingly uninspiring batch will do the same.
  16. Or more likely considering he is one of many players in recent years that have not signed new deals, that we aren't paying market rate.
  17. The way Dolan talks about himself, he clearly rates himself more than anyone on here does. As such I dare say heโ€™s asking for a pretty hefty contract. Heโ€™s clearly close to his family so pretty sure heโ€™d want to stay in the area, his problem might be a lack of offers though, I canโ€™t see any north west teams championship and above being interested.
  18. Whilst I agree id still take the stance on if Iv been wrong about players before, I wouldnโ€™t necessarily continue to make the same judgement but thatโ€™s me of course and yes my post was specifically aimed at mercer
  19. On the Delhi high court websiteโ€ฆ Select case history then case wise. Enter required info (w.p.(c) 7966 2023). Select filing details.
  20. What has what people said last summer about Weimann and Batth got anything to do with that question?! Batth in particular did do well, and thus both leave holes we seemingly didn't expect to have to fill. What people posted on here when they signed months before Ismael joined is totally irrelevant. Ismael wanted 90% of business done by now, his words, so with 2 in, 2 more out than expected and still none of the key players' futures resolved, I suspect he probably isn't overly happy.
  21. Losing, not loosing. Lose, not win, loose, not tight.
  22. If these posts were aimed specifically at Mercer, then that is fair. He is beyond parody. As you said, people should be able to say they like/don't like a signing, as long as they change that opinion if they are wrong.
  23. Iโ€™ve just spat my drink out, bravo Old Codger, funny ๐Ÿ˜‚
  24. He didn't "probably want" a couple more in. He wanted 90% of the business done (realistically or otherwise) by the start of pre season. We have 2 signings in, so probably about 25% and a hell of a lot of uncertainty. He would have expected Batth and Weimann to sign, or at least hope. So we have 2 in, those 2 and Dolan and the expected loanees all departed, and crucially huge question marks over the future of 4 key players with still none tied down or even with offers in front of him. He also will publically endorse every single signing we make.
