From what I've seen so far in the transfer window, I'm hardly blown away by any Championship club and their signings. A lot of clubs have lost players too, so maybe we won't truly see who the real standout teams are for a good number of weeks. I live in Southampton and watched a few of their matches. They look so disjointed at the moment and the fans are quite worried - especially after the disaster of last year. I'm sure I've read the same about other teams too. I think this season could be about assembling a squad that’s cohesive, tactically aligned, and has a clear understanding of what they need to do to win games. When every player knows their role and the team operates as a unified unit, that’s when performances become consistent, momentum builds, confidence grows and results follow. Based on what I've seen so far in pre-season, we tick a few of those boxes. It's just a question of whether we're strong enough as a team, in terms of depth and quality, to maintain consistency. We definitely need a few more players who can improve the team, but I'm pleased with the signings so far. If we do well, then perhaps key players will believe in this new project and sign extensions. It's also pleasing to see some players from last year grow in confidence. I expect good things from Yuki, Cantwell, and I wouldn't be surprised to see an improved Gueye now he's settled in England, has some French speaking players in the squad. He will grow and could become a surprise to us all. As to who we should sign, I still go with what Mark Hughes once said. You should sign players to improve the first XI. Let's hope V.I and Rudy can do that....and check the fax machine still works!

Agree. De Neve/kargbo, Cantwell, Tyjon, Hedges/ New signing are unknown qualities and players who don’t contribute enough in terms of Goals and assists. Relying on Gueye and Ohashi to both bag a hat full. This RW signing has to be spot on and someone with the quality to add goals/assists to the team. Definitely need another CAM/striker. looking at the bench is even worse, Lost Weimann who was our go to guy to try win games late on. There’s nothing else left on there really who has the experience to contribute

That's not quite accurate. In the podcast, he says he'll stay abroad for as long as possible and that he's open to staying with Rovers, but he hasn't received any concrete offer from them.

Not having a striker lined up is baffling. We have never replaced Szmodic. When Ohashi was signed last year, Eustace referred to him as the Telalovic replacement (similar outlay). Gallagher went and Makhtar arrived (clearly like for like). Szmodic left and no replacement. Leonard isn't reliable injury wise and Tyjon isn't going to lead the line. There is a serious lack of goals in the side.

He had more than a "great finish." He was excellent all season, seems to be fit for the majority of the time now, and has really improved defensively. Also is our only capable crosser. A huge miss.

Can see what type of players VI is targeting. Big athletic players that can carry the ball and cover the ground. Fingers crossed they can hit the ground running. If we can get Baradgi over the line and add a decent Rw we should have enough to survive next season. But this also depends on no more key outgoings. Another striker is needed and would love to go back for Muhammad from Nantes

He is not at the level of a fully fit Pereira (assuming gets back to his previous levels), & James Justin & Van Ewijk are on at least a similar level to Brittain. But he is right up there

I respectfully disagree with this. Had a great finish to last season, great going forward but thinks there’s a lot that are better than him. Seems to be injured a fair bit and average defensively. I honestly don’t think we will miss him much.
